There are about 53 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Malta. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to gather information about the use of an investigational drug called Ramucirumab in adenocarcinomas of the stomach or gastroesophageal junction.
This study is investigating the effects of an experimental drug (neratinib) in combination with paclitaxel versus trastuzumab in combination with paclitaxel for the treatment of women who have not received previous treatment for erbB-2-positive locally recurrent or metastatic breast cancer. The study will compare the effectiveness of each regimen in shrinking tumors and extending the lives of women with erbB-2 (HER2) positive breast cancer. The study will also compare the safety of the two regimens and as well as the quality of life of subjects receiving either regimen.
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether neratinib can further reduce the risk of recurrence from previously diagnosed HER-2 positive breast cancer after adjuvant treatment with trastuzumab.
Primary objectives of the study are: To assess the differences in survival of the two treatment options in both stage III (A and B) nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) (Study A) and Stage IIIB (wet) and stage IV NSCLC (Study B), respectively Secondary objectives are: To assess the differences in toxicity of two treatment options in both stage III (A and B) NSCLC (Study A) and Stage IIIB (wet) and stage IV NSCLC (Study B), and To assess the differences in Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) of two treatment options in both Study A and Study B
Seven-month study in pediatric patients (2-11 years) with moderate to severe AD who were considered to benefit from vaccination to prevent invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitides serogroup C.
This study is being carried out to investigate if AZD5672 is effective in treating Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and if so how it compares to placebo (a substance which does not have any action) and etanercept (a medicine already available to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis) when added to treatment with methotrexate. The purpose of this study is also to find out which dose of AZD5672 is the most effective at treating RA and to find out how well the body tolerates AZD5672 when taken for up to 12 weeks.
This study will evaluate the relative efficacy and safety of prasugrel and clopidogrel in a medically managed Unstable Angina/Non-ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (UA/NSTEMI) acute coronary syndrome (ACS) population (that is, patients who are not managed with acute coronary revascularization).
The aim is to compare the blood pressure lowering effect of the combination of candesartan cilexetil (candesartan) 32 mg and hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) 25 mg to that of candesartan 32 mg alone, HCT 25 mg alone and placebo in hypertensive adults.
More than one million people in Europe suffer from a stroke every day. Normally older people have a stroke, but also a significant number of younger people between 18 and 55 years. Usually, these cannot be explained by the classical risk factors such as diabetes, overweight and high blood pressure. New studies indicate that in about 1 - 2 % of the younger stroke patients the cause could have been an undiagnosed genetic disease, the so called Fabry disease. The purpose of this study is to determine in a large number of young stroke patients, how many strokes were caused by Fabry Disease.
This is an observational study with a drug called Nebido, a new testosterone replacement therapy, which is available for the treatment of male hypogonadism. The benefit and safety of Nebido have already been thoroughly evaluated through well controlled clinical trials. The main purpose of this observational study is to confirm the established safety profile of Nebido in daily clinical practice.
