NCT ID: NCT02704780 Completed - Clinical trials for Postpartum Haemorrhage

Two Different Regimens of Misoprostol in Retained Placenta

Start date: March 2016
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study evaluates intra umbilical vein injection of 800 µg versus 400 µg misoprostol for the treatment of retained placenta to reduce the need of manual removal of placenta under general anaesthesia

NCT ID: NCT02444598 Completed - Wound Infection Clinical Trials

Trial of Negative-pressure Wound Therapy Use in Conflict-related Extremity Wounds

VACoCREW
Start date: June 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

There is a treatment method called negative-pressure wound therapy (NPWT) that is well established and used for the treatment of wounds. The method involves the application of a wound dressing through which a negative pressure is applied. Due to a plastic film overlaying the wound the risk of wound contamination is reduced. NPWT is considered to promote wound healing and prevent infection and has previously been used in the treatment of acute war associated wounds with satisfactory results. The aim of this study is to compare NPWT with conventional wound dressings in the treatment of war-associated extremity wounds and evaluate which method is more effective.

NCT ID: NCT02217189 Completed - Asthenozoospermia Clinical Trials

Study of the Effect of Oral Zinc Supplementation on Superoxide Radical Scavengers

Start date: July 2011
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Although several studies have considered the relationship between infertility and semen super oxide radical scavengers levels, no study on the effects of asthenospermia treatments such as oral zinc supplementation on superoxide radical scavengers activity which are important in fertility of the individual has been reported.

NCT ID: NCT02153411 Completed - Asthma Clinical Trials

Multicentric, Transversal, Descriptive, Epidemiological Study on the Management of Asthma in Asthmatic Middle East Adult Population

ESMAA
Start date: June 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Descriptive study on the management of asthma in asthmatic Middle East adult population : Algeria,Egypt, Irak,Iran, Jordan, Koweit, Lebanon, Qatar,Saudi,Tunisia, UAE

NCT ID: NCT01953796 Completed - Clinical trials for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Clomiphene Stair-Step Protocol for Ovulation Induction in Women With Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

PCOSCCTvUSS
Start date: May 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of our study is to evaluate the efficacy of the clomiphene stair-step protocol to induce ovulation in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) compared to traditional protocol. Methods:This was a randomized controlled clinical trial at the Fertility clinic of Al sadder teaching hospital at Al- Najaf city, Iraq . It included 140 women who met all of the inclusion criteria, they were divided into two groups; 65 patients for the stair step protocol and 75 patients for the traditional protocol.

NCT ID: NCT01840813 Completed - Retained Placenta Clinical Trials

Intraumbilical Misoprostol in Retained Placenta

Start date: April 2011
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Administration of intraumbilical misoprostol to women with retained placenta despite active management of third stage of labour reduces the need for manual removal of placenta and the amount of blood loss vaginally.

NCT ID: NCT01684059 Completed - Asthenozoospermia Clinical Trials

Study the Effect of Oral Zinc Supplementation on Enzymes of Nitric Oxide Pathway

Start date: July 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The ability of spermatozoa to produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) has been respected since the 1940's. Oxidative stress limits the functional competence of mammalian spermatozoa via lipid peroxidation, the induction of oxidative DNA damage and the formation of protein adducts. Nitric oxide (NO) is a free radical generated from the oxidation of L-arginine to L-citrulline by reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH)-dependent NO synthases. Several studies suggest that the overproduction of this free radical and the subsequent excessive exposure to oxidative conditions have a potential pathogenetic implication, which due to the reduction of sperm motility. The present study was conducted to study the effect of Zn supplementation on the levels of NO synthase and arginase in semen of patients with asthenozoospmia.

NCT ID: NCT01630148 Completed - Pulmonary Embolism Clinical Trials

Bemiparin as a Thromboprophylaxis After Gynaecological Surgeries

Start date: July 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The use of prophylaxis for venous thromboembolism (VTE) remains grossly underused for women who undergo gynecologic surgery for benign conditions world wide and especially in developing countries including our region. Having a research in our locality for the first time might raise awareness of the importance of VTE prophylaxis.

NCT ID: NCT01612403 Completed - Asthenozoospermia Clinical Trials

Study the Effect of Oral Zinc Supplementation on High Molecular Weight Zinc Binding Protein in Semen

supplement
Start date: July 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

There are several causes leading to male infertility, like oxidative stress, and nutritional deficiency of trace elements like zinc. Zinc in human seminal plasma was divided into three types of ligands which are high (HMW), intermediate (IMW), and low molecular weight ligands (LMW). The present study was conducted to study the effect of Zn supplementation on the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of semen along with Zinc Binding Protein levels in semen of patients with asthenozoospmia.

NCT ID: NCT01588171 Completed - Clinical trials for Venous Thromboembolic Diseases

Comparison of 2 Low Molecular Weight Heparin as a Thromboprophylaxis Postpartum

Start date: May 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The use of a new generation low molecular weight heparin (Bemiparin)and the well known LMWH (Enoxaparin) after Caesarean sections and vaginal deliveries in a risky group patients for venous thrombosis.
