NCT ID: NCT05143216 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Chronic Subdural Hematoma

High Concentration Oxygen Therapy for Pneumocephalus in Chronic Subdural Haematoma: A Prospective Observational Study

Start date: May 6, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Normobaric oxygen therapy was shown to be effective in reducing post craniotomy pneumocephalus. Theoretical assessment of normobaric oxygen therapy in treating pneumocephalus has shown that a higher level of oxygen concentration will significantly decrease the time for absorption of pneumocephalus. The therapeutic efficacy is not fully established in patients with chronic subdural hematoma after burr hole drainage. Both radiological outcomes and clinical outcomes would be evaluated.

NCT ID: NCT05133544 Recruiting - Colonic Polyp Clinical Trials

Endocuff With or Without AI-assisted Colonoscopy

Start date: May 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Colonoscopy is considered the gold standard for diagnosis of colonic polyps. However, it was reported that colonoscopy could still miss colonic polyps. Many attempts have been made to improve the detection rate of colonoscopy. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a promising new technique to improve detection rate of colonic adenoma. However, it remains uncertain whether whether the combined use of Endocuff and AI assisted examination could help to further improve the adenoma detection rate. This is a prospective randomized trial comparing the use of endocuff with AI, AI alone or conventional colonoscopy examination on adenoma detection rate.

NCT ID: NCT05132361 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Peripheral Arterial Disease

Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of the SELUTION SLR™ 018 DEB compared to plain (uncoated) balloon angioplasty in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) in the superficial femoral artery (SFA) and proximal popliteal artery (PPA).

NCT ID: NCT05131776 Recruiting - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

EUS-guided Intra-tumour Injection of OncoSil for Locally Advanced Pancreatic Carcinoma.

Start date: November 1, 2021
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The outcomes of concurrent EUS-guided intra-tumour injection of P-32 microparticles (OncoSil; OncoSil Medical, Australia) with chemotherapy in locally advanced pancreatic carcinoma in the local population is uncertain. The aim of the current study is to assess efficacy and safety of the intervention in the local population. We hypothesis that the intervention is safe and useful for tumour downstaging.

NCT ID: NCT05129085 Recruiting - Chronic Pain Clinical Trials

Transforaminal Epidural Platelet Rich Plasma Versus Epidural Steroid Injection for Lumbosacral Radicular Pain

Start date: March 1, 2021
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Lumbosacral radicular pain is present in around 40% of cases of low back pain. It is usually caused by irritation and inflammation of the nerve root, and patients typically experience pain radiating from the back to the lower limb in the distribution of the affected spinal nerves. Epidural steroid injection is the most commonly used pain-relieving procedure in the world. However, the analgesic efficacy of epidural steroid injection appears to be modest and duration limited. Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is an emerging treatment option for chronic pain. It is currently used for treating musculoskeletal pain conditions such as osteoarthritis and tendinopathies. While epidural steroids reduce pain by reducing inflammation, PRP promotes the healing of nerve injury and reduces neuropathic pain. However, the effect of transforaminal epidural PRP versus epidural steroid specifically for lumbosacral radicular pain is unclear. In this study, a double blind, randomized controlled trial will be performed to compare the effect of transforaminal epidural PRP versus epidural steroid for pain relief in patients with lumbosacral radicular pain.

NCT ID: NCT05122702 Recruiting - Macula Edema Clinical Trials

An Innovative Chinese Herbal Formula for Macular Edema

Start date: July 12, 2022
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Macular edema (ME) is caused by hyperpermeability of retinal vessels and/or decreased efflux of fluid across the retinal pigment epithelium induced by outer/inner blood-retinal barrier dysfunction (BRB). It is most commonly seen following many diseases such as diabetes mellitus (DM), intraocular surgery, uveitis, retinal vein occlusion, and posterior segment inflammatory disease. An estimated 11% of patients with DM develop diabetic macular edema (DME). While the overall prevalence of DME among patients with DM aged 20 to 79 years is approximately 7.5%, the risk increases over time. Currently, there is no cure for ME. Chinese medicine (CM) is widely used to manage ME in China and other East Asian countries. Among them, Shenling Baizhu San (SBS) is one of the most commonly used formulae. In this proposal, a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter clinical trial will be undertaken to evaluate the efficacy and safety of modified SBS (mSBS) developed by the project team for the treatment of ME. Eligible subjects will be recruited and assigned randomly to receive orally mSBS or placebo twice a day for 12 consecutive weeks, with follow-up for another 4 weeks after stopping the treatment to observe the duration of efficacy.

NCT ID: NCT05115968 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Obstructive Sleep Apnea of Child

Single Cell Sequencing of Tonsillar Tissue in Children With OSA

Start date: January 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) in children is a prevalent sleep disorder, and is characterised by repetitive complete or partial upper airway obstruction during sleep. It is an important disease as it is associated with a large spectrum of end-organ morbidities. Adenotonsillar hypertrophy is the commonest cause of OSA in children, however, the cause of the lymphoid tissue hypertrophy in some individuals but not the others remains unknown. To address the cellular heterogeneity and immune cell involvement in adenotonsillar hypertrophy, here, we propose to employ single-cell sequencing analysis to identify the cell-specific expression patterns associated with the disease, which will enhance our understanding of the pathogenesis of tonsillar hypertrophy in children with OSA and may provide directions for development of novel therapy.
