There are about 4372 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Greece. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Background: IQOS ("I-Quit-Ordinary-Smoking,") is a type of the growing class of "heat-not-burn" (HNB) tobacco products. The effect of the acute exposure to IQOS smoke on the pulmonary function of healthy smokers has not been studied extensively. Objectives: Evaluation of the acute effects of IQOS on pulmonary function. Methods: Healthy non symptomatic smokers, underwent exhaled CO measurement, spirometry including flows, volumes and diffusion capacity, and measurement of their respiratory resistances at 5, 10 and 20 Hz (R5Hz, R10Hz and R20Hz) with the use of an impulse oscillometry system (IOS) before and 15 min after the use of an IQOS.
It is known that postprandial hyperglycemia increases the cardiometabolic risk in both diabetic and non-diabetic patients. Moreover, there is insufficient data on the effectiveness of exercise on preventing Type II diabetes mellitus in individuals with insulin resistance and prediabetes. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of resistance exercise in limiting postprandial hyperglycemia and the necessity of prescribing medication particularly in patients with beta-thalassemia and insulin resistance.
The study is conducted to improve knowledge about the epidemiology of Lipoprotein(a) in patients with established cardiovascular disease (CVD).
The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of the study drug tirzepatide to insulin degludec on blood sugar levels in participants with type 2 diabetes. The study will last about 67 weeks and may include up to 22 visits.
This would be a single center, parallel, two group randomized controlled pilot study that is designed to assess the feasibility and efficacy of the Virtual Coach Program in elderly patients with heart failure.
Primary objective of this study is to evaluate the level of agreement of two keratometry modules, the IOLMaster and the Verion Reference Unit, in terms of keratometric values and IOL power calculation.
Good nutritional status of patients with Crohn's disease (CD) is associated with better outcome of the disease and better health-related quality of life. The prevalence of malnutrition in patients with Crohn's disease varies and is higher in patients with active disease. Available studies in the literature have assessed the nutritional status of patients with Crohn's disease. However, sample size of available studies is small and highly heterogeneous, and most patients are hospitalized with active disease. The aim of the present study is a thorough assessment of nutritional status of 250 patients either with active Crohn's disease or in remission of the disease using multiple widely available tools and methods, in order to assess their accuracy and estimate the prevalence of multiple malnutrition phenotypes such as undernutrition, sarcopenia, sarcopenic obesity and cachexia as well as overweight and obesity. Finally, the effect of the nutritional status on the course of the disease will be investigated.
To describe the frequency and thresholds for sarcopenic obesity in neurodisabled persons and the fat and lean mass distribution based on various neurodisabilities
Phase 3 efficacy and safety study to evaluate acoramidis (AG10) HCl 800 mg administered orally twice a day compared to placebo in subjects with symptomatic Transthyretin Amyloid Cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM).
Compare efficacy of 56 mg/m2 carfilzomib administered once-weekly in combination with lenalidomide and dexamethasone (KRd 56 mg/m2) to 27 mg/m2 carfilzomib administered twice-weekly in combination with lenalidomide and dexamethasone (KRd 27 mg/m2) in subjects with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) with 1 to 3 prior lines of therapy.
