There are about 4372 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Greece. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose is to characterise the tolerability of Modufolin (arfolitixorin) in combination with 5-FU alone, in combination with 5-FU and Oxaliplatin, in combination with 5-FU and Irinotecan and in combination with 5-FU, Oxaliplatin and Bevacizumab. Another purpose is to investigate 4 doses of Modufolin to identify the best dose for further assessment.
To investigate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of linagliptin 5 milligrams once a day compared to placebo as as add-on therapy for 24 weeks to stable basal insulin treatment in elderly patients, 60 years of age and older, with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and insufficient glycaemic control.Stable background therapy of metformin and/or alpha-glucosidase inhibitors is also allowed. In addition, this trial will assess if linagliptin reduces the risk of hypoglycaemia when added to background basal insulin therapy. The treatment duration of this trial (24 weeks) will enable assessment of the clinically relevant endpoint of a decrease in glycosylated Haemoglobin, a well-accepted measurement of chronic glycaemic control.
This trial will enroll approximately 6,000 patients with recent embolic stroke of unknown source (ESUS). Patients will be randomized to dabigatran or acetylsalicyclic acid (ASA) (1:1 ratio) and have visits every three months. The study doctor may prescribe blinded concomitant ASA for pts with coronary artery disease but this is not mandatory. All Adverse Events (AEs), Serious Adverse Events (SAEs), outcome events will be recorded. The trial will conclude when the required number of stroke events are positively adjudicated which is estimated to take 3 years (including 2.5 years of enrollment).
The aim of the Perioperative Anticoagulant Use for Surgery Evaluation (PAUSE) Study, is to establish a safe, standardized protocol for the perioperative management of patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) who are receiving a novel oral anticoagulant (DOAC) drug, either dabigatran, rivaroxaban or apixaban, and require an elective surgery/procedure.
The purpose of the study is to 1) define the operating characteristics of fungal biomarker assays in pediatric patients at high-risk for developing invasive candidiasis, 2) determine the change in fungal biomarker assay results in children who develop invasive candidiasis, and 3) create a biobank of blood samples from pediatric patients at high-risk for invasive candidiasis and those with invasive candidiasis for future testing of fungal biomarker assays and development of new fungal biomarker assays. The study will assemble a prospective cohort of pediatric patients at high-risk for developing invasive candidiasis. Blood samples for biomarker testing will be obtained at the time a patient has a clinical indication for blood culture attainment. Additional blood sampling will be performed on the sub-set of patients that are found to have invasive candidiasis. The sensitivity, specificity, PPV, and NPV of biomarker assays will be determined for each biomarker assay. No PHI will be stored in the database and limits on blood draws (3 ml/kg in an 8 week period) will be adhered to.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of treatment with ABT-450 co-formulated with ritonavir and ABT-267 (ABT-450/r/ABT-267) and ABT-333; 3-DAA regimen, with or without ribavirin (RBV) in adults with chronic hepatitis C virus genotype 1 (HCV GT1) infection.
The purpose of this clinical study is to assess the single procedure outcomes of using cryoballoon ablation without additional empirical lesions and/or complex fractionated electrogram (CFE) ablations for patients with early persistent atrial fibrillation (<1 year from first diagnosis of persistent AF).
This study will compare the safety and effectiveness of PF-05280586 versus rituximab-EU in patients with CD20-positive, low tumor burden follicular lymphoma. The primary hypothesis to be tested in this study is that the effectiveness of PF-05280586, as measured by the Overall Response Rate, is similar to that of rituximab-EU.
This is a phase 2, multicenter, randomized, open-label study to estimate the efficacy of talimogene laherparepvec as a neoadjuvant treatment followed by surgery compared to surgery alone in subjects with completely resectable stage IIIB, IIIC, or IVM1a melanoma.
This study evaluated change over time in neurocognitive testing in patients receiving statin therapy in combination with evolocumab (AMG 145), compared with patients receiving statin therapy in combination with placebo.
