There are about 4372 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Greece. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The objective of this phase III trial is to establish statistical equivalence in terms of efficacy (best overall response rate [ORR], proportion of patients with complete response [CR] plus partial response [PR]) until 18 weeks of first-line treatment with BI 695502 plus chemotherapy versus Avastin® plus chemotherapy followed by maintenance monotherapy with either BI 695502 or Avastin®.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of CC-486 in previously treated patients with locally advanced or metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma having failed one to two previous regimens, including platinum-based chemotherapy. Participants will be enrolled according to a Simon two-stage design; if the predefined activity is met (>4 responses [complete response; partial response {CR/PR}] out of the first 17 evaluable participants based on independent radiological assessment), then the study will continue to enroll an additional 34 participants. If 4 or less responses out of 17 are observed, then the study enrollment will be stopped.
Study A536-06 is an open-label extension study for patients previously enrolled in study A536-04 (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier NCT01749540), to evaluate the long-term safety and tolerability of ACE-536 in adult patients with beta-thalassemia.
The purpose of this study in HCV genotype 4-infected subjects with compensated cirrhosis is to assess the safety and to compare the percentage of subjects achieving a 12-week sustained virologic response (SVR12), [HCV ribonucleic acid (RNA) < lower limit of quantification (LLOQ) 12 weeks following treatment], to a clinically relevant threshold [based on SVR rates for HCV genotype 4-infected subjects treated with pegylated interferon (pegIFN)/RBV]. The 12 and 16-week arms have been fully enrolled. As of 19 May 2015, they were closed and the two 24-week arms were opened for enrollment.
The purpose of this study is to obtain data on the safety and manageability of applying LABS™ to the uterus and other areas of surgical trauma in the pelvis and abdomen following laparoscopic gynaecologic surgery. In addition, performance data following a clinical indicated second look laparoscopy will be collected for the purpose of determining sample size predictions for future trials.
This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the addition of UMEC (62.5 microgram[mcg]) when administered once-daily via dry powder inhaler (DPI) to Inhaled corticosteroid/ Long-acting beta2-agonist (ICS/LABA) twice-daily compared with placebo via DPI added to the ICS/LABA therapy over a treatment period of 12 weeks in subjects with COPD. This study is designed to investigate the addition of UMEC to ICS/LABA combinations at approved doses and frequencies for the treatment of COPD including SERETIDE™ 500/50 mcg twice daily, Fluticasone Propionate/Salmeterol Combination (FSC) 500/50 twice daily generic products such as AIRFLUSAL FORSPIRO inhaler 500/50 mcg twice daily or ROLENIUM ELPENHALER inhaler 500/50 mcg twice daily and SYMBICORT TURBUHALER inhaler at doses of 200/6 mcg twice daily and 400/12 mcg twice daily, over 12 weeks in subjects with COPD. Albuterol/salbutamol metered-dose-inhaler (MDI) or nebules will be issued throughout the study for use as-needed (prn). Subjects who meet the eligibility criteria will be randomly assigned to one of the following blinded study treatment regimens in equal proportion (1:1): UMEC 62.5 mcg once-daily and Placebo once-daily. Approximately 230 subjects (115 subjects per treatment) will be randomized in order to complete at least 206 evaluable subjects. The total duration of the study will be approximately 14 weeks for each subject. UMEC is a Long-acting Muscarinic Antagonist (LAMA) currently under development as a monotherapy, as a combination product with a LABA, vilanterol (VI), for the treatment of COPD, and as a combination product with an ICS, fluticasone furoate (FF), for the treatment of asthma. The UMEC/VI combination 62.5/25 .mcg once-daily has been approved in the United States (U.S.) and Canada for COPD under the trade name ANORO™ ELLIPTA™ and is under regulatory review in other countries. SERETIDE, ANORO, and ELLIPTA are trade marks of the GlaxoSmithKline Group of Companies. Other company or product names mentioned herein may be the property of their respective owners.
The main objective of the study is to evaluate whether the extended duration fidaxomicin therapy is superior to the standard vancomycin therapy in sustained clinical cure of CDI at 30 days after end of treatment (Day 40 or Day 55).
The investigators propose to study the efficacy and safety of nab-Paclitaxel in a Phase II trial of patients with locally advanced or metastatic adenocarcinomas of the stomach and gastro-esophageal junction
Considering the significance of an early and consequent Multiple Sclerosis (MS) treatment as well as the challenge to achieve high adherence to treatment, evaluating the benefits of any new measure to improve adherence is important. The data storage capabilities of the BETACONNECT device, including the automated recording of injections, will facilitate the collection of reliable data on patient's injection behavior and adherence, which should be unaffected by recall bias or reporting bias. To better understand the utilities of the new BETACONNECT device and characterize its contribution to adherence, we plan to prospectively follow-up MS patients using this device for 24 weeks. The study will take place in a real-life setting in Neurology centers across Europe.
Arterial stiffness is associated with increased risk for cardiovascular disease. Moreover, the integrity of endothelial glycocalyx plays a vital role in vascular permeability, inflammation and elasticity. The association between damage of endothelial glycocalyx, impaired arterial elastic properties, and CFR in diabetics and first degree relatives has not been explored. The purpose of this study is to explore the association between damage of endothelial glycocalyx, impaired arterial elastic properties, and CFR in diabetics and first-degree relatives before and after during oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT).
