There are about 21071 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Spain. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The benefits of multicomponent physical exercise (MPE) in the mental and physical health of older adults are widely accepted. However, during Covid19 pandemic, some face-to-face programs for physical exercise were canceled. The situation was particularly complex in nursing homes (NHs) because residents were often confined to their floors and many leisure activities were canceled. Online physical exercise sessions increased their popularity during the pandemic. However, there is no evidence that online physical exercise sessions are an effective alternative to face-to-face sessions for older people living in NHs. The current project aims to assess a synchronous online MPE program's feasibility, acceptability, and effects. With this aim, first a synchronous online MPE intervention was designed and then a multicenter randomized controlled trial with 3 branches was developed: face-to-face MPE, online MPE and control. Participants in the control group will receive advice to maintain physical activity and reduce sedentary behavior. Additionally, those in the intervention groups will also participate in 24-week individualized and progressive MPE programs performed at moderate intensity that will be focused on strength, balance, and endurance. MPE will be performed through supervised sessions (2 per week). One of the intervention groups will be supervised face-to-face whereas the other will be supervised synchronously online. Study assessments will be conducted at baseline, at the end of the 24-week intervention, and after 24-week follow-up. The primary outcomes of the study will be changes in mental and physical health. Secondary outcomes will include other parameters of mental and physical health, together with physical activity, frailty, quality of life, and biological markers. The dropout rate, the adherence, the injuries and other adverse events suffered by the participants, and technical incidences produced in the online modality will be recorded. A mixed-model ANCOVA will be performed to compare the data between intervention and control groups, considering as co-variables baseline measurements. The statistical analysis will be performed on the whole sample and separated for sex/gender. The study received ethical approval (M10_2022_405_IRAZUSTA ASTIAZARAN). The results of this project will be transferred to institutions and entities involved in managing NHs to increase the opportunities for the residents to remain physically active.
PROCARE is a preventive intervention that has shown its effectiveness in selective prevention to reduce young people's risk of developing emotional problems. In this study, an uncontrolled pre-post study is carried out where this personalized transdiagnostic preventive intervention in online mode is applied in the indicated population, with the following objectives: 1) provide data about whether there are improvements in the emotional state of adolescents after implementing PROCARE-I+; and 2) evaluate if there is any risk factor that predicts anxiety-depressive symptoms and/or emotional difficulties. The sample was made up of 30 adolescents who showed symptoms of anxiety and/or depression and a high risk of developing an emotional disorder and who benefited from the preventive, transdiagnostic, online and personalized intervention called PROCARE-I+. After the analysis of the data collected at the pre-intervention and post-intervention time, the data revealed that the intervention had an impact on improving the emotional state of the adolescents in terms of anxious-depressive symptomatology, quality of life and emotional regulation. On the other hand, the data revealed the absence of predictive relationships between the presence of a risk factor and suffering from symptoms of anxiety and depression; In contrast, predictive relationships were found between the presence of the family risk factor and suffering from some emotional difficulty.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of balcinrenone/dapagliflozin compared with dapagliflozin alone on patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and albuminuria. This study will evaluate the effect of the balcinrenone/dapagliflozin on urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR), compared with dapagliflozin in patients with CKD. This is a dose-finding study aiming to identify an optimal dose of balcinrenone/dapagliflozin for a future Phase III study in patients with CKD.
Multicenter longitudinal observational ambispective (retrospective cases from 2014 and prospective from 2018 onwards) cohort study. The registry recruits a series of consecutive patients admitted for moderate-high risk or high-risk pulmonary embolism (according to 2019 European Society of Cardiology guidelines) treated invasively. This study aims to describe the acute management of the safety and effectiveness of different percutaneous interventions for acute pulmonary embolism.
The goal of this clinical trial is to confirm that SB27 works in the same way as Keytruda in metastatic non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. The main question it aims to answer is: • How effective the study drug is Participants will receive either investigational product (SB27 or Keytruda) and chemotherapy every 3 weeks. Researchers will compare SB27 and Keytruda to see if SB27 works in the same way as Keytruda.
Evaluation of the Effects of a Nutritional Intervention of Ketogenic Medium-chain Triglycerides and B-vitamins on Cognitive Functioning in Older Adults With Mild Cognitive Impairment (COGNIKET-MCI)
The purpose of this study is to measure the efficacy and safety of AZD0901 compared to Investigator's choice of therapy as 2L+ treatment for participants with advanced or metastatic gastric or GEJ adenocarcinoma expressing CLDN18.2.
The overall objective of this study is to determine the efficacy of a physical therapy intervention based on manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and application of electrotherapy in healthcare workers with non-specific neck pain.
The overall aim of the study is to analyse the impact of a music therapy-based treatment on the emotional well-being and quality of life of cancer patients in palliative care (PC). To this end, the effectiveness and efficiency of a music therapy-based treatment to improve adaptation to illness and psychological well-being in this population will be validated and implemented. Specifically, the implementation of an individualised treatment programme for palliative care patients will be carried out.
The study aims to analyse the impact of music therapy-based treatment on the comfort and well-being of patients with acquired brain injury (ABI). To achieve this objective, it is proposed to validate and implement a music therapy-based assessment and treatment protocol. The protocol will be tested in a pilot sample to improve adaptation to the disease and promote integration with the usual health measures of patients with ABI. Implementing a group treatment programme based on music therapy applied to patients with ABI.
