NCT ID: NCT05573204 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis

Comparative Study Between Obeticholic Acid Versus Vitamin E in Patients With Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis

Start date: September 1, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study aims at evaluating and comparing the protective outcomes of using Obeticholic acid versus Vitamin E in NASH patients without cirrhosis. The intervention is 6-months duration and the study will assess the efficacy of either drug as fibrosis improvement (≥ 1 stage) with no worsening of NASH or NASH resolution with no worsening of fibrosis with the study considered successful if either 1ry end point is met. . Also, assessment of biochemical markers related to steatosis, inflammation, oxidative stress, insulin resistance and liver fibrosis will be done.

NCT ID: NCT05567497 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Maxillofacial Injuries

Ultrasound Guided Trigeminal Nerve Block in Maxillofacial Surgeries

Start date: November 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to evaluate the perioperative analgesic effect of USG Trigeminal Nerve Block in adult patients undergoing maxillofacial surgery. We hypothesized that giving USG-guided TNB in patients undergoing maxilla-facial surgery could reduce the requirements of opioids perioperatively and avoid the side effects of opioids used. The aim of this double-blind study is to evaluate the effect of USG-guided TNB intra- and post-operatively in terms of pain relief, opioid consumption and adverse effects in patients undergoing such elective surgeries.

NCT ID: NCT05560529 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Binge Eating Disorder

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy As A Therapeutic Tool In Patients With Binge Eating Disorder

Start date: March 15, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Binge eating disorder (BED) is one of the recently acknowledged eating disorders, with many theories underlying its pathology whether biological or psychological. From the biological perspective, changes in plasma ghrelin were hypothesized to have a major role in developing and maintaining the disorder, while from the psychopathological perspectives, abnormalities in emotion regulation were found in many patients. Since Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is known to target emotion dysregulation, the main aim of this study is to assess the efficacy of DBT versus treatment as usual (TAU) in BED patients, and whether plasma ghrelin level will be affected after treatment in both arms.

NCT ID: NCT05554952 Active, not recruiting - Pulpotomy Clinical Trials

Indirect Pulp Capping Versus Pulpotomy With MTA for Treatment of Primary Molars With Deep Caries

Start date: November 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the current randomized controlled trial is to evaluate clinical and radiographic outcomes of indirect pulp capping and pulpotomy with MTA in treatment of primary teeth with deep caries over a 12-month follow-up period.

NCT ID: NCT05548738 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Chronic Pain Syndrome

Caudal Epidural Prolotherapy Versus Steroids in Failed Back Surgery Syndrome

Start date: April 20, 2022
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will be held on patients with failed back surgery syndrome, the investigators are comparing prolotherapy and steroids injections in caudal epidural space to relieve the pain

NCT ID: NCT05540743 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis Associated Uveitis

Biologic Therapy in Pediatric JIA Uveitis

Start date: July 1, 2022
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) remains the most common systemic disorder associated with pediatric uveitis. Studies estimate that 28-67% of patients with JIA-associated uveitis develop ocular complications, with 12% developing poor visual outcome. The only means of improving long term effects of uveitis, is early and aggressive anti-inflammatory treatment, including biologics.

NCT ID: NCT05531383 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Traumatic Brain Injury

Effect of Early Memantine Administration on Outcome of Patients With Moderate to Severe Traumatic Brain Injury

Start date: November 26, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Effect of Early Memantine Administration on Outcome of Participents with Moderate to Severe Traumatic Brain Injury

NCT ID: NCT05525988 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Closed Fracture Scaphoid, Proximal Pole

Proximal Pole Scaphoid Reconstruction Using Proximal Hamate

Start date: March 15, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Recently, A novel surgical technique was illustrated by Elhassan BT et al. in 2016 utilizing the Hemi-hamate autograft for the reconstruction of scaphoid bone proximal pole non-union with avascular necrosis. The technique showed promising results but is still limited to case reports and anatomical studies In this study, we aim to: 1. Evaluate the surgical technique steps and suggest any possible modifications to the original description of the technique. 2. Assessment of clinical outcomes of this novel technique in terms of; bone union rate, time to union, and wrist function. 3. Report any complications of the usage of the proximal hamate for the proximal pole of the scaphoid reconstruction.

NCT ID: NCT05512728 Active, not recruiting - Anesthesia Clinical Trials

Efficacy of Virtual Reality Distraction Technique for Anxiety and Pain Control in Orthopedic Forearm Surgeries Performed Under Supraclavicular Brachial Plexus Block

Start date: December 20, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Invistigators hypothesized that using of VR distraction technique during performing peripheral regional anesthesia (supraclavicular block) would lead to better perioperative analgesia and less anxiety.

NCT ID: NCT05512078 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Vertical Deficeny of Posterior Mandible

Assessment of Vertical Ridge Augmentation for Posterior Mandible by Computer Guided Onlay vs Free Hand Onlay Graft

Start date: December 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

for patients with vertical bone loss in posterior mandible area......invistigators use chin blocks for vertical augmentation...i compare between using guide for positiong the block with the desired position using special surgical guide versus position the block with free hand technique
