There are about 11304 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Denmark. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The goal of this clinical trial is to examine the effect of limb occlusion therapy (remote ischemic conditioning, RIC) in subjects with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. The main question it aims to answer is whether RIC can improve long-term recovery in participants with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Researchers will compare levels of functional independence in participants in the RIC-group to participants in the sham-group.
In this study, the investigators will conduct a controlled trial to investigate the effects of a flexible patient-centred consultation with a focus on self-management support, well-being, treatment content, and self-management skills in patients with atopic dermatitis. The investigators will include 200 participants; 100 participants in a control group followed by 100 participants in an intervention group. The controlled trial will take place at the outpatient clinic at the Department of Dermatology and Allergy, Herlev-Gentofte Hospital and the daily management will be done by the project manager/Ph.d. student with support from the project group. In the control group, participants will be provided with care as usual. This means participants will be seen by a doctor and new participants will get an additional nurse session focusing on therapeutic patient education (TPE) in atopic dermatitis. The consultations are scheduled at regular intervals of approximately three months but with alterations if the participant needs to be seen before. In the intervention group, the set-up will be flexible patient-centred consultations. The first consultation for the participant will be with the doctor and depending on the participant's need, the following consultations can be scheduled with either a doctor- or a nurse consultation. After each consultation, it will be decided in collaboration between the healthcare professionals and the participant whether a nurse or a doctor consultation will be relevant next. The consultations (whether it is with the doctor or nurse) will be centered around the participant's choice of topics by use of an atopic dermatitis dialogue tool developed in the department. Additionally, the nurse consultation will focus on therapeutic patient education (TPE) in atopic dermatitis. The interval between consultations will depend on the participant's need
The aim of this study is to investigate whether Sentinel Node biopsy can be performed without the use of lymphoscintigraphy and with ICG as a mono-tracer in women with vulvar cancer, unifocal tumor < 4 cm (clinical stage IB and II). Further, to investigate the accuracy of combined PET-CT and ultrasound (US) of the groins with US-guided biopsy of suspicious lymph nodes for the identification of macro-metastases in women with vulvar cancer, unifocal tumor < 4 cm.
The goal of the present study is to evaluate the effects of a dance-based concept entitled MS Ballroom Fitness (developed in Denmark by PT Elisabeth Dalsgaard) in persons with multiple sclerosis (pwMS). A total of 66 pwMS will be enrolled and equally randomized into an intervention group or a control-waitlist group. Those in the intervention group will undertake 7 weeks of MS Ballroom Fitness, with 2 sessions per week. The investigators assume that balance, walking capacity as well as well-being will be improved.
50 patients with verified new-onset Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension are randomly allocated to standard weight management (dietician counselling) or trial intervention consisting of subcutaneous injections with Semaglutide for 10 months combined, in the initial 8 weeks following diagnosis, with a Very Low Calorie-Diet (max 800 kcal/day)
The goal of this observational study is to make us more aware of the short and long-term outcomes for women having an uncomplicated healing process after a rupture or birth cut in the perineum after giving birth in relation to a healing process with a dehisced wound treated with conservative management or secondary suturing. Participants will be asked to do - A gynecological examination at one month after birth and 9-12 months after birth. - Have a picture taken of the healing process - Answer a questionnaire at one month, three months, and 9-12 months after birth
A Diagnostic Clinic for Functional Somatic Disorders (FSD) has been set up at the outpatient diagnostic center at Regionshospitalet Silkeborg. The objective of the clinic is to support General Practitioners (GPs) by offering early stage diagnostic evaluation of whether a patient has an FSD or the symptoms were caused by another physical illness or mental disorder. As a novelty in this project, Internal Medicine consultants examine the patients for FSD, after having received training in diagnosing FSD by FSD experts. By performing diagnostic evaluation for physical diseases and FSD simultaneously, the investigators believe that the new clinic shall be able to accelerate the establishment of a final diagnosis for these patients who would otherwise likely undergo a protracted diagnostic course involving sequential evaluations at various specialty clinics. The DISTRESS trial is a pragmatic randomized clinical trial which aims to evaluate the Diagnostic Clinic for FSD in terms of clinical cost-effectiveness outcomes.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of BMS-986278 in Participants with Progressive Pulmonary Fibrosis.
This study evaluates patients suffering from traumatic cardiac arrest assessed by the Danish HEMS between 2016 and 2021. The primary outcome is 30-day survival; secondary outcomes are status at admission to the hospital and prehospital return of spontaneous circulation. Further, the prehospital critical care was identified and evaluated.
Acute colonic diverticulitis is when a part of the colon gets swollen and inflamed. The diagnosis is based on a CT scan, which can show thickening of the colonic walls and infiltration of the diverticula. These changes and the concomitant symptoms can overlap with colorectal cancer (CRC). Therefore, the guidelines suggest that people with diverticulitis should be offered a colonoscopy to ensure, that CRC is not the underlying cause of the changes and symptoms. In Denmark, a lot of people get hospitalized each year due to diverticulitis, and many of them end up having colonoscopies with the purpose of excluding CRC. Currently, there are no methods for guiding colonoscopies following a diverticulitis episode, resulting in numerous unnecessary colonoscopies each year. In the Diverticulitis study, we want to investigate if a simple blood test analyzed for the presence of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), can help us decide who needs a colonoscopy. We will collect blood samples from 220 people with diverticulitis and categorize them into ctDNA positive and negative groups. The ctDNA category will be compared to the colonoscopy results to see if there is a correlation between being ctDNA positive and having a CRC diagnosed at the colonoscopy. This study could change clinical practice since we anticipate that ctDNA-guided triaging of diverticulitis patients is a cost-effective strategy for selecting diverticulitis patients needing colonoscopy, ensuring detection of the underlying CRC, and significantly reducing the number of patients undergoing unnecessary colonoscopy.
