The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term safety, tolerability, and efficacy of VX-121/tezacaftor/deutivacaftor (VX-121/TEZ/D-IVA) in participants with cystic fibrosis.
The primary aim of this study is to investigate and test whether the use of combined indocyanine green (ICG) lymphography and ultra high frequency ultrasonography can correctly identify lymphatic vessels and venoles in close proximity to each other, for identification prior to lymphovenous anastomosis (LVA) surgery.
The present study is a parallel group design with randomised allocation to either a 1) reduced protein diet (RP) or a 2) normal protein diet (NP). The two groups will be pair-matched based on habitual dietary protein intake, endurance training, endurance performance, and sex. The aim of the study is to investigate the effects of reducing dietary protein (~1g protein/kg body mass) compared to an eucaloric normal protein diet (~2g protein/kg body mass) for 6 weeks in well-trained endurance athletes on endurance performance, body composition, skeletal muscle protein synthesis, and health-related outcomes. The hypothesis is that endurance performance will maintain or even be improved in well-trained endurance athletes after a 6-week dietary intervention of an eucaloric, protein reduced diet compared to a normal protein rich diet.
A study to investigate feasibility of local selection of patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the pharynx or larynx using anticipated benefit of proton radiotherapy in reducing the risk of late dysphagia or xerostomia.
The objective of this study is to investigate whether the 3D scanner and accompanying software, as well as the transillumination method, can identify changes in primary caries lesions in caries-active patients, where selected lesions achieve a higher degree of plaque control than others over an 8-month period. The working hypothesis of this study is that the two methods, scanning and transillumination, are as good as the traditional method (clinical examination complemented by radiographs) to assess whether caries lesions are progressing, stable or regressing. Progression, stability or regression of selected caries lesions are thus the endpoint, and the rationale is to investigate whether more objective measures can replace/supplement a subjective method to assess progression, stability or regression of caries lesions.
In an effect evaluation the investigators will examine the effects of participating in osteoporosis patient education. An intervention group who have already participated in patient education will be compared to a matched control group who have not participated. Effects on quality of life, fractures, daily functional capacity, self-efficacy, psychological wellbeing, physical function, balance, falls, pain management, and adherence will be examined.
This is a study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of losmapimod in treating participants with Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD). Participants diagnosed with Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy type 1 (FSHD1) or Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy type 2 (FSHD2) will participate in Part A (Placebo-controlled treatment period) and will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio to receive losmapimod 15 milligrams (mg) or placebo orally twice daily (BID). Upon completion of Part A, participants will have the option to rollover into Part B (open-label extension) to evaluate the long-term safety, tolerability, and efficacy of losmapimod and will receive losmapimod 15 mg orally BID.
The primary aim of this study is to test and assess the implementation and effectiveness of continuous wireless vital signs monitoring with real-time alerts on: The frequency of patients monitored with adequate data quality as adequate clinical user satisfaction in the initial versus the last part of the trial (primary outcome).
The purpose of subproject 1 is to evaluate the accuracy of a nerve excitability protocol in healthy subjects before testing the protocol in diabetic neuropathy patients. The nerve excitability protocol has been derived by computational modeling to identify abnormalities of three subtypes of ion voltage-gated channels. These three ion channels are all altered in animal models of diabetic neuropathy and, therefore, are likely candidates for generating the altered excitability in diabetic neuropathy patients. The hypothesis for subproject 1 is that due to the unique dynamics of each subtype of voltage-gated ion channels, it is possible to identify abnormal voltage-gated ion channel alterations by altering the shape of the electrical stimulation.
This is an open-label, single treatment arm, multicenter study to assess the pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), safety, and tolerability of Debio 4126 in the treatment of participants with Acromegaly or Functioning Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs).
