There are about 25560 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Germany. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Congenital Portosystemic Shunt (CPSS) is a rare condition important by the multiplicity and severity of associated complications. CPSS is venous anomaly in which blood coming from the intestines only partially passes through the liver. This leads to the accumulation of potentially toxic factors that cause systemic effects. Complications vary among the individuals, and currently, it is challenging to predict which individuals will develop severe complications. The IRCPSS registry is established with the aim of centralizing detailed clinical follow-up and biological information from participants around the world who suffer from Congenital Portosystemic Shunt (CPSS). A multidisciplinary consortium of experts is collaborating to enhance our understanding of the prevalence, natural history, individual risks, and physiopathology of the disease through the IRCPSS registry.
The main objective of this trial is to investigate the effect on the exposure of BI 1584862 in plasma when given as single dose together with multiple doses of itraconazole (Test, T) as compared to BI 1584862 when given alone as oral single dose (Reference, R).
RENOIR Study: This study will evaluate the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of Rosnilimab in subjects with moderate to severe Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)
The Hill classification, also known as the Hill grade, is a system used to classify the severity of gastroesophageal valve incompetence, specifically related to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and hiatal hernia. This study aims to compare the ability of physicians versus an AI model to asses the Hill grade during gastroscopy.
Polyp size and count determines the follow-up intervals after colonoscopy. However, relying on the endoscopist's optical diagnosis for size estimation has shown considerable variability, leading to erroneous surveillance intervals and increased colorectal cancer risk. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of a new polyp size estimation software, called POSEIDON, which uses the tip of the auxiliary water-jet as reference and is implemented together with the EndoMind polyp detection system.
General anesthesia is a combination of hypnotic drugs to achieve unconsciousness and opioid analgesics to ensure antinociception. An alternative approach to the intraoperative administration of high potency opioids in order to achieve antinociception during surgery is combining a general anesthesia with a regional anesthesia. Modern general anesthesia aims to treat nociception induced by surgical stimulation while avoiding an overdose of opioid analgesics and reducing side-effects of opioid administration. Quality and safety of general anesthesia are of major clinical importance and can be improved by adjusting the opioid analgesics to the optimal individual dose needed. In the current clinical practice, the opioid dosage is usually chosen by clinical judgment. Recently different monitoring devices estimating the effect of nociception during unconsciousness have become commercially available. One of the first commercially available nociception indices was the Surgical Pleth Index (SPI) derived by the CARESCAPE™B650 patient monitor (GE Healthcare). Until today, it remains unknown whether guiding sufentanil administration by SPI monitoring affects the administered amount of intraoperative and postoperative opioid, immediate postoperative pain in the postanesthesia care unit (PACU) and the quality of postoperative recovery in patients with a combination of general and regional anesthesia. This study aims to investigate whether guiding sufentanil administration by SPI monitoring - compared to routine care - reduces intraoperative sufentanil consumption in patients having trauma and orthopaedic surgery with a combination of general and regional anesthesia.
This study is a randomised controlled intervention trial for patients with chronic kidney disease who are on the waiting list for a kidney transplantation (n=200). The aim of this study is to test the effectiveness of intensive individual nutritional and exercise support combined with comprehensive rehabilitation before transplantation in comparison to a control group.
The purpose of this Phase III study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tozorakimab administered subcutaneously (SC) in adult participants with symptomatic COPD with a history of ≥ 2 moderate or ≥ 1 severe exacerbations of COPD in the 12 months prior to enrolment. Participants should be receiving optimised treatment with inhaled maintenance therapy (ICS/LABA/LAMA triple therapy, or dual therapy if triple is not considered appropriate) throughout at least the last 3 months prior to enrolment.
Changes in biology will be reflected by changes in the composition of Ribonucleic acid (RNA) in the blood. An example of that would be environmental changes, e.g. diet, acute illness, temperature. The main goal of this study is to study the impact of environmental changes in blood transcriptomics in healthy individuals over time.
The overarching goal of the current study is to investigate the effect of one acute bout of exercise on the brain insulin responsiveness in a cross-over study design. To this end, investigators will compare the effect of two single endurance exercise sessions with different intensities, namely moderate intensity continuous training (MICT) and high-intensity-interval-training (HIIT), which will be performed in a randomized order. This will be compared to a waiting control condition.
