Comparison of Coracoclavicular Fixation With Versus Without Acromioclavicular Stabilization for Repair of Acute Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocations: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

The entire upper extremity is attached to the axial skeleton, specifically through the clavicle and the acromioclavicular articulation (AC). The stability of the AC articulation is provided by coracoclavicular ligaments in the vertical plane and acromioclavicular ligaments in the horizontal plane. The AC luxation is a frequent pathology in youth and athletes that practice contact sports, it has incidence 9,2 per 1000 inhabitants per year, which represents between 30% to 50% of shoulder injuries in young athletes, which is more frequent in men than in women with a ratio of 8:1. Its main injury mechanism is direct trauma while the shoulder is adducted and its less frequent secondary indirect mechanism following is of a fall of the extended arm. In 1984 the Rockwood team published the most used and accepted classification system till this day, which is divided into 6 types according to the grade of instability types. The treatment is usually conservative in patients with Rockwood type I and II lesions and surgical in types IV, V and VI. There is controversy in the surgical indication of type III lesions, highlighting the importance of medial stability associated with the characteristics and expectations of each patient. Although there are more than 160 described surgical techniques, the percentage of complications is considerable, with a 14% of intra-operative complications, 21% reduction loss and a 10% end up in a revision surgery . To minimize the complications and obtain better functional results, the idea of this randomized controlled clinical trial was born.

This study compares the immunogenity and safety of quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccines. The experimental group receives the quadrivalent influenza vaccine developed by Sinovac Biotech Co., Ltd and the control group immunized with Vaxigrip Tetra™. The group has 1600 persons from general population 3 years and older. The design is double-blind and randomized. The primary outcome is the immunogenicity against the 4 strains of influenza included in both vaccines.

It is designed to collect real-world, long-term data to explore long-term effectiveness, safety, clinical insights, treatment patterns, and factors driving the treatment decisions among patients being treated with specified Roche ophthalmology products (Faricimab and Port Delivery System with Ranibizumab) in approved retinal indications (neovascular age-related macular degeneration [nAMD] and diabetic macular edema [DME]) in routine clinical practice. This study will not provide or make recommendations on use of any products including Roche products; treatment decisions will be determined by the treating physician and must be made independently to the decision to participate in this study. Participation in this study will not change or influence a patient's standard of care in any way.

A Study of Zilovertamab Vedotin (MK-2140) as Monotherapy and in Combination in Participants With Aggressive and Indolent B-cell Malignancies (MK-2140-006)

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability of zilovertamab vedotin as monotherapy and in combination in participants with select B-cell lymphomas including mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), Richter's transformation lymphoma (RTL), follicular lymphoma (FL), and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). This study will also evaluate zilovertamab vedotin as monotherapy and in combination with respect to objective response rate. - Cohort A: Participants with relapsed or refractory MCL relapsed or refractory disease after at least 2 prior systemic therapies including a Bruton's tyrosine kinase inhibition/inhibitor (BTKi), and post therapy chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy or ineligible for CAR-T cell therapy - Cohort B: Participants with relapsed or refractory RT disease after at least 1 prior systemic therapy - Cohort C: Participants with relapsed or refractory MCL relapsed or refractory disease after at least 1 prior systemic therapy and no prior exposure to a non-covalent BTKi - Cohort D: Participants with relapsed or refractory FL and CLL relapsed or refractory disease after at least 2 prior systemic therapies and have no other available therapy - Cohort E: Participants with relapsed or refractory FL after at least 2 prior systemic therapies and have no other available therapy - Cohort F: Participants with relapsed or refractory CLL after at least 2 prior systemic therapies and have no other available therapy The primary study hypothesis is that zilovertamab vedotin monotherapy has an increased Objective Response Rate (ORR) per Lugano Response Criteria as assessed by blinded independent central review (BICR).

This clinical trial will study the acute effects of plantar stimulation using a therapy called automated peripheral mechanical stimulation (AMPS) on cardiovascular and functional mobility in patients with PD. Interscalene Block Versus Combined Infraclavicular-Anterior Suprascapular Blocks for Shoulder Surgery

Postoperative analgesia after shoulder surgery remains a challenge in patients with preexisting pulmonary pathology, as interscalene brachial plexus block (ISB), the standard nerve block for shoulder surgery, carries a prohibitive risk of hemidiaphragmatic paralysis (HDP). Although several diaphragm-sparing nerve blocks have been proposed, none seems to offer equivalent analgesia to ISB while avoiding HDP altogether. For instance, even costoclavicular blocks, which initially fulfilled both requirements, were subsequently found to result in a non-negligible 5%-incidence of HDP. In this randomized trial, the authors set out to compare ISB and combined infraclavicular block-anterior suprascapular nerve blocks (ICB-ASSNB) for patients undergoing arthroscopic shoulder surgery. The authors hypothesized that ICB-ASSNB would provide equivalent postoperative analgesia to ISB 30 minutes after shoulder surgery and therefore designed the current study as an equivalence trial.

A Study to Investigate the Efficacy and Safety of Brepocitinib in Adults With Dermatomyositis

This is a phase 3, multicenter, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind study of treatment with brepocitinib (TYK2/JAK1 inhibitor) in adults with dermatomyositis (DM). The primary objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of two dose levels of brepocitinib in comparison to placebo, as measured by differences in the Total Improvement Score (TIS). After 52 weeks of double-blind treatment, participants have the option to continue therapy in a 52 week open-label extension phase where all participants will receive brepocitinib.
