There are about 28871 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Canada. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The objective of this study is to investigate the feasibility of a virtually-delivered 6-month exercise and nutrition intervention in older adults with executive subjective cognitive decline (SCD). Feasibility will be determined by recruitment, retention, and adherence rates. Preliminary changes in cognition, physical function, and quality of life will be assessed as secondary outcomes. The study will recruit 140 participants aged 65 to 80 who report they feel that their memory or other thinking abilities are declining. Participants will be randomized into one of four study arms receiving different combinations of healthy lifestyle interventions. Assessments will be conducted virtually at baseline, post-intervention (6 months), and follow-up (12 months). All intervention sessions and assessment visits will be conducted online using the Zoom Healthcare platform and participants will log on using their own devices from home.
Participants will attend up to 3 study visits to collect clinical assessments. The assessments will evaluate participants' symptoms and quality of life to understand disease activity in patients with DOK7-CMS better and may inform future study design.
The primary objective of the current randomized controlled trial is to assess feasibility of integrating digital remote patient monitoring (dRPM) with the an enhanced Breathe Easy Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program for Individuals with COPD and Comorbidities (BEPR+), including aspects such as recruitment, retention, patient adherence, technology acceptability, adverse events, and staffing resources. The secondary objectives include comparing clinical outcomes (such as functional capacity, health status, quality of life, self-management, psychosocial health, physical activity and self-efficacy) between those who receive dRPM and BEPR+ (dRPM+) vs. those who receive BEPR+ alone.
The primary purpose of this study is to determine the maximum tolerated dose of GSK4524101 monotherapy (MTD) and GSK4524101 in combination with niraparib (MTDc). The study consists of two parts - Part 1 (Dose Escalation) and Part 2 (Dose Expansion).
This study is open to adults who are at least 18 years old and have a body mass index (BMI)bof 27 kg/m2 or more. People can take part if they have cardiovascular or chronic kidney disease. People who have at least 2 health problems related to their weight or risks of cardiovascular disease can participate. Participants must have previously tried to lose weight by changing their diet. The purpose of this study is to find out whether people with overweight or obesity who take a medicine called survodutide (BI 456906) are less or more likely to develop serious cardiovascular problems. It also aims to find out whether health parameters like blood pressure improve. Overweight and obesity are linked to cardiovascular disease. Survodutide is a medicine that is developed to help people with obesity or overweight to lose weight. Participants are divided into 3 groups of almost equal size. 2 groups get different doses of survodutide and 1 group gets placebo. Placebo looks like survodutide but does not contain any medicine. Every participant has a 2 in 3 chance of getting survodutide. Participants inject survodutide or placebo under the skin once a week. All participants also receive counselling on diet and physical activity. Participants are in the study for up to 2 years and 3 months. During this time, it is planned that participants visit the study site up to 21 times and attend remote visits by video calls. During these visits, the doctors check participants' cardiovascular and overall health. The results are compared between survodutide and placebo groups. The study staff also takes note of any unwanted effects.
Phase 2, Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Study to Evaluate the Effects of EP262 in Subjects with Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria
The goal of this study is to evaluate V940 plus pembrolizumab versus placebo plus pembrolizumab for the adjuvant treatment of completely resected (R0) Stage II, IIIA, IIIB (with nodal involvement [N2]) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The primary hypothesis is that V940 plus pembrolizumab is superior to placebo plus pembrolizumab with respect to disease-free survival (DFS) as assessed by the investigator.
Phase 2 trial to evaluate safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of Inventprise's (IVT) 25-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (IVT PCV-25)
The COVID-19 pandemic is presenting one of the greatest threats to youth mental health seen in generations. Pain is one of the most common symptoms of extreme stress in youth. In 2020, the investigators created an online "stepped-care" program called the Power over Pain Portal. Stepped care is a promising way to improve access to CP care. Stepped care tailors care based on a person's symptom severity. Like a ladder, a person must start with one type of care then "step up" or "step down" to more or less intense care depending on need. The investigators also summarized all online pain management programs for youth to find the best resources to embed into the Portal. The investigators will pilot-test the Portal with youth to ensure it can be implemented effectively and will be clinically beneficial. The investigators will recruit 100 youth with CP to use the Portal for 2 months and see how they interact with the features and if it helps to improve their pain and mental health. The investigators will include a mixture of youth who represent different ages, sexes, genders, sexual orientations, races, dwellings, and school/employment status.
Chronic pain is associated with psychological disorders; which may affect a patient's socioeconomic, legal, domestic, and employment situations. This prospective observational study evaluates the impact of pain management on patients' health, social, economic, and employment status. It explores the impact of pain clinic services on patients' mental health, family health, public health, road safety, addiction situation, public safety, injury rehabilitation and employment situation.
