NCT ID: NCT05974462 Recruiting - Acute Myocarditis Clinical Trials

MYTHS-MR Trial (MYocarditis THerapy With Steroids in Patients With Mildly Reduced Ejection Fraction)

MYTHS-MR
Start date: May 24, 2024
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to demonstrate the efficacy of pulsed intravenous methylprednisolone in a single-blind randomized controlled trial versus standard therapy in patients with acute myocarditis and a mildly reduced LVEF. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - is there an increase in LVEF (≥55% or an absolute increase in LVEF ≥ 10%) on echocardiogram after 5 days from randomization in patients treated with pulsed corticosteroid therapy vs. standard therapy? - is there a reduction in the proportion of patients with LVEF < 55% AND/OR LV dilation on a 6-month CMRI in patients treated pulsed corticosteroid therapy vs. standard therapy? - To assess the effect of corticosteroids on the occurrence of the combined endpoint(1) all-cause death or (2) HTx or (3) long-term LVAD implant or (4) first rehospitalization due to HF or ventricular arrhythmias, or advanced AV block. Participants will be randomized in two arms in a 1:1 ratio. The experimental group will receive pulsed corticosteroid therapy on top of the standard therapy and patients in the placebo group will be treated with a saline solution on top of their standard therapy. All other tests are executed according to standard of care.

NCT ID: NCT05974436 Completed - Uremic Syndrome Clinical Trials

Green Dialysis: Dialysis With Reduced Dialysate Flow

Start date: July 18, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Hemodialysis patients consume per year 18.720-26.208L of dialysis fluid (i.e. water). From an ecological point of view, the present study investigated whether reducing this water amount has an impact on the extraction and total solute removal of different uremic toxins. The efficiency of hemodiafiltration with a standard high-flux dialyzer is compared to hemodialysis with a medium cut-off dialyzer with a dialysate flow of either 700mL/min or 300mL/min.

NCT ID: NCT05974111 Recruiting - Ischemic Stroke Clinical Trials

COAgulation Disorders in Ischaemic and Haemorrhagic Stroke

COADIHS
Start date: May 2, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In this study the investigators will assess both procoagulant and anticoagulant pathways using thrombin generation and platelet function tests; as well as neuronal ischemia using cell free DNA in all patients presenting with ischaemic and haemorrhagic stroke (including aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorraghe). Also the cross-talk between inflammation and thrombosis, so-called thrombo-inflammation is further investigated. As such the investigators aim to characterise the patient's coagulation profile before administration of any treatment. By assessing these pathways the investigators strive to detect specific markers to predict vital and functional outcome at 3 months in these patients. Finally the investigators may provide new pathophysiological insights in the course of disease following these events that can possibly improve future therapeutic strategies.

NCT ID: NCT05973825 Not yet recruiting - HIV-1-infection Clinical Trials

Immuno-virological Evaluation of Persons Living With HIV (PLWH)

Start date: June 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a dual arm (arm 1 and arm 2) multi-centric non-randomized (prospective) study. Two new multicentric cohorts will be set up in 4 Belgian HIV reference centers (UZ Gent, UZ Brussel, University Hospital Liege and St. Pierre Hospital Brussels): cohort 1 will comprise PLWH in whom ART was initiated during acute HIV infection minimum 3 years ago but no more than 10 years ago (short-term ART cohort); cohort 2 will comprise PLWH on ART since >20 years (long-term ART cohort). Participants will be included based on suppressed viremia and uninterrupted ART since initiation. Participants will undergo one blood sampling and one leukapheresis. In and exclusion criteria are described below.

NCT ID: NCT05973773 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Advanced or Metastatic NSCLS With Exon 20 Insertion Mutation

REZILIENT3 (REsearching ZIpaLertinib In Egfr Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Tumors)

REZILIENT3
Start date: June 30, 2023
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of zipalertinib in combination with standard first-line platinum-based chemotherapy compared to chemotherapy alone, in patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC with EGFR ex20ins mutations.

NCT ID: NCT05973578 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Ventricular Tachycardia

Cardiac RadiothErapy for VEntricular Tachycardia

CREVET
Start date: May 23, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Objective: To explore in our center the feasibility and safety of a SBRT treatment method for VT. Study population: Patients with ventricular tachycardia that are refractory to dose-escalated antiarrhythmic drugs and where catheter ablation has either already been performed or is deemed to be unsuccessful or associated with high risks. Intervention: Patients will be treated with a stereotactic body radiotherapy technique as a single fraction treatment up to a dose of 25 Gy delivered to the VT substrate defined by electrophysiological mapping. Main study endpoints: The primary aim is to explore the feasibility and safety of a SBRT treatment method for refractory VT. Secondary endpoints include an assessment of the efficacy of the treatment, quality of life, late toxicity and overall survival. Patients will have to fill in a quality-of-life questionnaire before and after the radiotherapy treatment. The risk associated with this trial is an increase in toxicity.

NCT ID: NCT05972551 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Osteogenesis Imperfecta

Start date: April 22, 2024
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of romosozumab treatment for 12-months compared with bisphosphonate(s) on the number of clinical fractures at 12-months; the number of any fractures at 12-months and change in lumbar spine bone mineral density (BMD) Z-score at 6-months.
