There are about 612 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Bangladesh. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the ability of a single dose of the investigational RSV Maternal vaccine, administered intramuscularly (IM) to pregnant women aged 18-49 years, in good general maternal health, in preventing medically assessed RSV associated Lower Respiratory Tract Illnesses (LRTIs) in infants born to vaccinated mothers. The study will also evaluate the safety of the investigational RSV Maternal vaccine both in vaccinated mothers and in their corresponding infant. Following a recommendation from the Independent Data Monitoring Committee of NCT04605159 (RSV MAT 009), GSK made the decision to stop enrolment and vaccination in the study. Ongoing study participants will continue to be monitored as part of the study.
This is an open-label phase IV randomized clinical trial that will compare immune responses among infants who receive different dose schedules of either fractional dose or full dose inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV), delivered either intramuscularly or intradermally. Note: This study was terminated early due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to early study closure, the study objectives could not be evaluated as planned. Both of the primary objectives and several secondary objectives could not be evaluated because none of the study participants reached the corresponding endpoint. Due to limited sample size, the analysis approach for four secondary objectives was changed from a non-inferiority assessment to a comparison of proportions between groups.
The purpose of this cluster-randomized trial is to evaluate the efficacy of daily, multiple micronutrient (MM) supplement versus identical placebo use among nulligravid, recently married women, starting preconceptionally through the 1st trimester of pregnancy, in reducing low birth weight and other adverse pregnancy outcomes in rural Bangladesh.
This is a trial to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of double mutant heat-labile toxin LTR192G/L211A (dmLT) from Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) by oral, sublingual, or intradermal vaccination in approximately 135 healthy adult volunteers, age 18-45 years. Study duration is approximately 2.5 years, with each participant duration for up to 9 months depending on the route of dmLT administered. There is no specific hypothesis being tested in this study. The primary objective of this study is to assess the reactogenicity, safety, and tolerability of dmLT when administered in three sequential doses, over a range of dosages by oral, sublingual, or intradermal routes.
Helicobacter pylori is a common bacterial infection. It can lead to severe stomach problems, including stomach cancer. Researchers want to look at samples of the bacteria. These H. pylori strains will be taken from chronically infected people. They want to identify the genetic and epigenetic differences in H. pylori strains. This could help predict which people who get infected with the bacteria will get stomach cancer. This could lead to the cancer being detected earlier. It could also mean less people get stomach cancer. Objectives: To study genetic variations of H. pylori strains based on samples from chronically infected people. To identify the features of strains that might lead to severe stomach problems or stomach cancer. Eligibility: People ages 30-70 years who need an upper endoscopy or who were recently diagnosed with stomach cancer Design: Participants will be screened by the doctor who does their procedure and a study nurse. Participants who have endoscopy will have ~6 biopsies removed. These are tissue samples. They are about the size of a grain of rice. Participants will allow the study team to access reports from their stomach exam. Participants with stomach cancer will donate some of the tissue that will be removed during their clinical care. They will allow the study team to access reports of their surgery. They will also allow them to access the microscope slides of their stomach.
The present study is intended to evaluate the efficacy and safety of topical OC-10X Ophthalmic Suspension in patients diagnosed with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (level 61, 65, 71, or 75). OcuCure Therapeutics, Inc. (Roanoke, VA) has developed a lead compound, known as OC-10X, which is a selective tubulin inhibitor under development for the treatment of Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy (PDR) and Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD). When administered as a topical eye drop, OC-10X has both anti-angiogenic (inhibition) and angiolytic (regression) properties in animal models of choroidal neovascularization (CNV). Unlike other therapies, OC-10X provides the efficacy of a vascular targeting agent without the traditional toxicity and works downstream independently of growth factors. As demonstrated by OcuCure's preclinical data, tubulin inhibition, using OC-10X, may be a promising new approach to the treatment of PDR and AMD. Like AMD, PDR is a major cause of blindness in adults and is also caused by the growth of abnormal blood vessels. Importantly, the Phase I Study found that OC-10X can be safely applied topically in human eyes without adverse ocular or systemic effects. Currently, there are few options for the treatment of PDR. Clinical options, such as laser photocoagulation or vitrectomy, require surgery and can permanently impair patients' vision. With few treatment options available, administration of OC-10X as a topical therapy, along with its novel mechanism, has the potential to provide benefits to patients with ocular diseases associated with angiogenesis.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety, feasibility and applicability of a new device 'Tampostat' in the management of primary postpartum hemorrhage and compare the efficacy of 'Tampostat' in terms of arresting primary PPH with that of the conventional condom catheter.
A randomized, double-blind trial in adult males with acute dehydrating diarrhea of cholera comparing the safety, tolerability and efficacy of HAMS HO-ORS, HAMS 2.5% Acetate HO-ORS, HAMS 6% Acetate HO-ORS and HO-ORS. The primary hypothesis is that at least one of the hypo-osmolar ORS containing high amylose maize starch 6% acetate (HAMSA6-HO-ORS), hypo-osmolar ORS containing high amylose maize starch 2.5% acetate (HAMSA2.5-HO-ORS) and a hypo-osmolar ORS containing high amylose maize starch (HAMS-HO-ORS), will significantly reduce diarrhea duration compared with hypo-osmolar (HO) ORS. Specifically, the investigators expect that HAMSA6 will be the most effective preparation.
This study hopes to demonstrate the potentials of a new form of therapy for childhood diarrhea, a major cause of morbidity and deaths in Bangladesh and other developing countries, and thus a priority for improving child health.
The purpose of this study is to confirm the safety and immunogenicity of Peru-15 vaccine in infants when given simultaneously with measles vaccine.
