There are about 435 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United Arab Emirates. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The all-on-4 treatment approach for completely edentulous mandible is a proven concept. However, there are still issues regarding the use of metal substructure to support the prostheses such as allergy, metallic taste, and aesthetic. Therefore, other materials such as polyetheretherketone (PEEK) are being tested for its suitability and is showing good potential. However, available evidence is limited regarding its clinical performance. Thus, the aim of this study is to compare clinical performance of all-on-4 treatment concept utilizing PEEK versus conventional metal framework as substructure in fully edentulous mandible. Thirty suitable patients will receive either PEEK or conventional all-on-4 prostheses for fully edentulous mandible. The prostheses will be retained by four implants utilizing the all-on-4 principle. Clinical performance will be assessed during the follow up period of up 3 years concerning screw loosening, material chipping or fracture, wear or staining, prosthesis survival and success, implant survival and success.
The goal of this Randomized clinical trial is to learn about how fixing neck curvature and head posture right away affects heart rate, brainwaves, and muscle coordination in college athletes. The main question it aims to answer: - Whether forward head posture (FHP) may play a crucial role in affecting heart rate variability, brainwaves, and muscle coordination.
The goal of this RCT is to investigate the immediate effect of benzocaine 20% topical anesthesia on initial pain and discomfort levels associated with the placement of elastomeric orthodontic separators in children who are receiving Hall Technique crowns on primary molars, among children who have attended the Pediatric Dentistry Department, Dubai Dental Hospital (DDH), Mohammed Bin Rashid University (MBRU) in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Infertility is on the rise worldwide due to multiple reasons. Proper and timely diagnosis makes the treatment easier and more acceptable by the couple. Lack of fertility knowledge however delays necessary investigations and sometimes reduces chances of success as a consequence of a delay in patients / couples approaching infertility clinics. Assessing the fertility knowledge of the Emirati infertility patients would help us to understand better the cultural aspects of fertility, the driving forces for having children and how much patients actually know about predisposing factors for infertility. This in turn would improve counseling and possible set knowledge campaigns to increase awareness.
The goal of this clinical trial is to test the effect of nerd neck correction on damaged jaw in people who suffers from jaw problems and nerd neck. The main question it aims to answer: - whether there are different effects of traditional nerd neck correction exercises, device correction method and dental splints on jaw features of pain and function. Participants will: - participants will be given the consent to sign first. - participants will be assessed to check jaw pain and function. - participants will be divided randomly into 3 groups. - Each group will be given the treatment sessions for 6 weeks. - participants will come back after 6 weeks for one last assessment. Researchers will compare traditional, new and dental treatment groups to see if there is improvement in jaw characteristics.
Among patients early following ST-segment (ST) elevation myocardial infarction, transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation is associated with a reduce of the burden of premature ventricular contractions in the first 40 days post-myocardial infarction (MI). The above hypothesis will be tested with a randomized, prospective, parallel, single-blind clinical trial. The expected study duration is approximately 12 months from the time the first subject is enrolled (planned for June 2023) to the time of study's termination date (December 2024). Patient enrollment is planned to take place at two major centers in Greece. The researchers will obtain approval by the institutional review board (IRB).
The goal of the study is to compare various methods of correcting forward head posture in elderly subjects. In particular, we will contrast two methods: the conventional program, which aims to restore muscle balance, and the Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) rehabilitation program, which relies on stretching the viscous and plastic elements of the longitudinal ligament and intervertebral disc in addition to effectively stretching the soft tissue throughout the entire body.
Robot-assisted gait training (RAGT) can provide a longer training duration with a higher repetition of stepping while maintaining a stable pattern of movement. However, the existing evidence of its effectiveness is not clear. The aim of this study is to investigate the feasibility and the effect of increased frequency (4 times per week) of RAGT compared to the most common frequency (2 times per week). we hypothesize that increased frequency of RAGT will result in greater improvements on the gait functions. This research will investigate the effect of increased frequency on robotic assisted gait training (RAGT) in a frequency of 4 times per a week, and will compare the effect of robotic assisted gait training (RAGT) with increased frequency and with usual frequency (2 times per a week) in regards with gait functional parameters such as balance, speed, endurance, and quality of gait among cerebral palsy (CP) children's.
Vitamin D deficiency is one of the most underdiagnosed and undertreated medical condition worldwide . The microbiome and vitamin D deeply influence each other and the immune system in many different ways. It is evident that the immune system and the microbiome are interconnected, and that vitamin D is a critical intermediary player in this dynamic . Probiotics were shown to increase vitamin D intestinal absorption and increase vitamin D receptor protein expression and transcriptional activity . Likewise, vitamin D receptor status seems to be crucial in regulating the mechanisms of action of probiotics and modulating their anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and anti-infective benefits, suggesting a two-sided pathway . The objective of this study is to assess the different absorption of Vitamin D (Vit. D) between patients treated with Vit. D supplementation combined to a probiotic containing L. casei DG® and patients treated with Vitamin D supplementation and placebo
According the World Health Organization (WHO), infertility is a disease of the male or female reproductive system defined by the failure to achieve a pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourse. In-vitro-fertilization (IVF) is considered to be a successful tool to overcome infertility. However, the current methods used to assess the ovarian reserve and to develop an optimal individualized controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) protocol have shown some limitations. Growing evidence indicates that altered renal renin-angiotensin system (RAS) and/or melatonin are linked to infertility. Aims and Objectives: The current 2 years duration study aims first to investigate the demographic and clinical profiles of patients undergoing IVF in the UAE. In the second phase of the study, we hypothesis that an altered angiotensin-melatonin axis may be considered as an unfavorable prognosis factor in poor and hyper responders undergoing IVF treatment. This hypothesis will be assessed using an observational, longitudinal, prospective clinical study to determine whether the urinary angiotensinogen and/or melatonin deficiency might be present in poor and hyper responders undergoing IVF treatment. Thus, negatively impacting the clinical pregnancy rate. Methodology: various patient's data will be collected using a questionnaire and the levels of angiotensinogen and melatonin in patient's urine will be measured using ELISA test prior to, during and after the IVF treatment. To determine whether the angiotensinogen-melatonin axis disruption affects the IVF treatment outcome, we will analyze the following parameters: the AMH, Antral Follicular Count (AFC), day 2-4 FSH levels, the stimulation cycle in regards to number of stimulation days and amount of gonadotropins used for stimulation, number of oocytes retrieved and number of mature oocytes, quality and embryo's ploidy, number of available euploid embryos and the clinical pregnancy rate after frozen embryo transfer.
