Neurosarcoidosis represents up to 10% of sarcoidosis cases. Little is known about its long-term course, even if the disease remains mainly monophasic with/w.o. sequelae, or if bouts of new symptoms may arise over years (polyphasic). Using retrospective data from patients diagnosed with neurosarcoidosis in three French referral centers for neuro-inflammation, the investigators aim to determine patterns of disease course, according to the initial presentation and the treatments used.
The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of a 4-week lower extremity telerehabilitation protocol with aims to improve lower extremity function to a 4-week attention-controlled education program on lower extremity clinical outcomes, quality of life, and healthcare resources utilization among community dwelling adults with stroke across Canada.
Fute (Flupentixol) combined with MARTAs (Multiple-Acting Receptor Targeted Antipsychotics) drugs has its clinical efficacy toward positive symptoms and might reduce the metabolic syndrome-related factors in patients. This study is the first clinical trial to explore the treatment of patients with flupentixol combined with MARTAs. However, due to research limitations, the number of patients who participated in the clinical trial is small, and it depends on subsequent larger-scale clinical trials for more in-depth verification.
This study is a multicenter randomized double-blind placebo-controlled study. The research content is 1. The improvement effect of Bifidobacterium triple viable capsules(BIFICO) on motor symptoms and constipation and sleep in mild to moderate Parkinson's disease and the safety of the study; 2. the mechanism of the improvement effect of intestinal microecological changes on motor and constipation symptoms in mild to moderate Parkinson's disease.
The specific study aims will be: 1. To examine the treatment effects of a new digital mirror therapy (MT) system versus a mirror box in patients with stroke by conducting a 4-group randomized controlled trial. 2. To examine the electrophysiological mechanisms of uni-mirror visual feedback (uni-MVF) condition with unimanual training mode, uni-MVF condition with bimanual training mode, and bi-MVF condition with bimanual training mode in the new MT system by EEG.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a highly infectious pandemic disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus. Central Nervous System (CNS) complications associated with COVID-19 might be secondary sequelae due to exuberant systemic innate-mediated hyper-inflammation, which may impair neurovascular endothelial function, disrupt blood brain barrier (BBB), activates CNS innate immune signaling pathways, and induces parainfectious autoimmunity, potentially contributing to the CNS manifestations. Although the predominant clinical manifestation of SARS-CoV-2 is characterized by dyspnea, unremitting fever and hypoxemic respiratory failure, neurologic manifestations do occur in most hospitalized SARS-CoV-2 patients and include non-specific encephalopathy, psychosis, meningitis/encephalitis, myelitis, cerebrovascular events, Guillain-Barre' syndrome, and cranial or peripheral neuropathies, such as anosmia and ageusia. To date, data about primary CNS involvement due to neurotropism and direct neuroinvasion are still lacking.
Middle meningeal artery (MMA) embolization via a minimally invasive endovascular approach might increase the likelihood of resolution and might prevent reaccumulation of Chronic Subdural Hematoma (CSDH). The purpose of the OTEMACS Trial is to assess the safety and effect on recurrence rate and functional outcome of endovascular treatment in patients with CSDH.
All patients undergoing allogeneic or autologous HSCT at the participating centres will be observed. Once a diagnosis of CNS disorder is made, additional data will be reported for these patients. We will identify clinical and diagnostic characteristics such as cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and neuroimaging patterns, risk factors, response to treatment (including novel antifungal agents such as isavuconazole) and outcome. In addition, risk factors for CNS disorders after allogeneic and autologous HSCT will be analyzed using a prospectively assessed matched control group. In the future, this study might be the basis for an interventional trial (e.g. using a prophylactic approach).
The pilot study was performed to evaluate the usability, credibility and expectancy of an intelligent, activity-based client-centred training system (i-ACT), and the motivation towards its use in neurological rehabilitation over a short period of time.
