NCT ID: NCT00353964 Recruiting - Ocular Inflammation Clinical Trials

Safety and Efficacy Study of rEV131 in the Treatment of Ocular Inflammation After Cataract Surgery

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of three concentrations of rEV131, a new investigational anti-inflammatory agent, compared to placebo (an inactive substance) and an FDA approved anti-inflammatory agent in patients with ocular inflammation who have undergone cataract extraction with intra-ocular lens implantation.

NCT ID: NCT00356330 Recruiting - Heart Diseases Clinical Trials

Safety of Cardiac Pacemakers in 3 Tesla MRI

Start date: n/a
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

To evaluate short-term and long-term effects by MR imaging at 3T on the technical and functional status of cardiac pacemakers.

NCT ID: NCT00360763 Recruiting - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Study of Optimal Treatment Plan in Hypertensives With Anti-AT1-Receptor Autoantibody

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The autoantibodies against AT1 receptor (ATR-AA), behaving like an agonist were detected in patients with hypertension. ATR-AA which can blocked by ARB may play a role in the pathogenesis of hypertension. The present study is to explore whether AT1 receptor blocker has superior anti-hypertensive effect in patients with positive ATR-AA hypertension. Patients with 2 grade hypertension were recruited and ATR-AA was assayed by ELISA. A study was carried out and the efficacy of anti-hypertension was compared between candesartan cilexetil and ACE inhibitor imidapril.

NCT ID: NCT00363792 Recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

Effect of GTN and Diamox Measured by BOLD-Response.

Start date: n/a
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In healthy subjects different cerebral haemodynamic values wished to be determined after infusion of the NO donor Glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) and Diamox. The different values we wish to determine are: - Blood-oxygenation-level-Dependent-signal (BOLD-signal) after visual stimulation. - Changes in the diameter of a. cerebri media. - Changes in the regional and global cerebral blodd flow (CBF) with the help of the arterial Spin labeling (ASL) method.

NCT ID: NCT00376558 Recruiting - Cocaine Dependence Clinical Trials

Imaging the Neurobiology of a Behavioral Treatment for Cocaine Dependence

Start date: n/a
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether patients with the greatest loss of dopamine transmission due to cocaine dependence at pre-treatment PET and MRI scans will be those who fail to respond to substance abuse treatment. This study will also determine whether patients who do respond to treatment will experience a recovery of dopamine function.

NCT ID: NCT00378963 Recruiting - EMG Response Clinical Trials

Instrument Applied and Manual Manipulation Induced EMG Response in Asymptomatic Subjects

Start date: n/a
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine the affects of instrumental and manual manipulation on the EMG response of asymptomatic subjects.

NCT ID: NCT00411021 Recruiting - Infertility Clinical Trials

Endometrial Sampling (Pipelle)in IVF Patients

Start date: n/a
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A prospective cross-over randomized study aimed to test the hypothesis that local injury of the endometrium increases the implantation rate in the successive cycle. Seventy IVF patients will be randomly selected to undergo either endometrial biopsies or minimal cervical scratch on days 8-10 and 21-23 of their cycle, preceding the IVF treatment. If not pregnant, the women will continue for another IVF cycle, preceded by endometrial or cervical scratch complimentary to their procedure in the first cycle. The main major outcomes will include pregnancy rate, implantation rate, endometrial thickness, abortion rate, live births and embryo quality.

NCT ID: NCT00414739 Recruiting - Eye Diseases Clinical Trials

Testing of Innocuousness of Benzalkonium Chloride on the Eye Concerning Possible Growth of Langerhans Cells

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The study analysis the influence of benzalkonium chloride on the density of antigen presenting Langerhans cells. This is achieved in a double blind randomized study using in-vivo confocal microscopy to identify and quantify Langerhans cells of the human cornea in its central and peripheral part. This study design is based on observations with raised Langerhans cell density after the application of benzalkonium chloride containing eye drops in glaucoma patients.

NCT ID: NCT00415935 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

PRINTO (the Paediatric Rheumatology International Trials Organisation)

Start date: n/a
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

A comparison of outcome in children with JIA who are in remission on MTX, when MTX is then stopped for either 6 or 12 months

NCT ID: NCT00419874 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Traumatic Brain Injury

Characteristics of Blood- Brain Barrier Permeability in Neurological Patients

Start date: n/a
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The main goal of the present study is to challenge the hypothesis that blood- brain barrier disruption following brain injury increases the risk for long-term disability, development of brain dysfunction, epileptic seizures and neuroanatomical alterations.
