NCT ID: NCT03883789 Not yet recruiting - Liver Diseases Clinical Trials

Defining 'Normal' Liver Function Tests & FibroScan Values in Pregnancy

Start date: April 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The main aim of this single-site prospective study is to use serum liver function tests and FibroScan as assessment tools to measure liver disease in pregnant women with or without liver disease at King's College Hospital. This will be assessed during each trimester of pregnancy. FibroScan will assess liver stiffness in these participants and will be used as a surrogate marker for fibrosis.

NCT ID: NCT03884127 Not yet recruiting - Hyperlipidemia Clinical Trials

Ezetimibe and Orlistat Affect the Intestinal Flora of Hyperlipidemia.

Start date: April 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

At present, the prevalence of hyperlipidemia in Chinese adults is 40.40%,which is related to atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and diabetes independent risk factors, while increasing the risk of cancer.Lipid metabolism affects the nutritional status of the intestinal epithelium, making the intestine Changes in the microenvironment of the intestinal flora affect the distribution of intestinal flora and eventually lead to bile acid metabolism change.Bile acid is a signal molecule that regulates glucose and lipid and energy metabolism in vivo State. The regulation of intestinal flora may be a new way to treat the imbalance of lipid metabolism, but it is currently sensitive to lipid metabolism the microbiome studies are unclear. In this study, newly diagnosed overweight patients with hyperlipidemia were treated with cholesterol absorption inhibition The drug intervention of ezeomab tablet and orlistat capsule for 12 weeks was observed to observe the changes of intestinal flora and bile acid metabolism after excessive cholesterol and triglyceride production.Clinical screening for the treatment of hyperlipidemia the study provides a reference for bacteria species and prevention and treatment, and provides a research basis for further development of drugs or foods that interfere with lipid metabolism by interfering with intestinal flora.

NCT ID: NCT03885063 Not yet recruiting - Self Neglect Clinical Trials

Modifying a Telephone Based Care Program to Assess for Self-Neglect

Start date: April 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the feasibility of enrollment, attrition, and adherence of Benjamin Rose Institute Care Consultation (BRI-CC) on unmet needs in low-income older adults who screen positive for dementia and their caregiver (CG).

NCT ID: NCT03885479 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases

Impact of Different Dietary IgGs on the Pathogenesis of IBD

Start date: April 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Identify the association between certain food IgGs (Wheat, rice, broad beans, cow milk, eggs, chicken and beef) and the immunological response in patients with IBD

NCT ID: NCT03886441 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Locally Advanced Non Small Cell Lung Cancer

Prevention of Locally Advanced NSCLC Radiotherapy Pneumonia by Inhaling Beclomethasone Propionate

Start date: April 1, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Radical radiotherapy is the main treatment of locally advanced lung cancer, and radiation pneumonia is the main toxic effects of radiotherapy. Among them, the fatality rate of severe radiation pneumonia can reach 50%, which is very harmful to tumor patients. At present, the treatment mode of radiation pneumonia is very few, and the therapeutic effect is poor. The prevention of radiation pneumonitis may be the best way to reduce the number of patients with Post-radiotherapy pneumonia. Previous small clinical studies have shown that the incidence of radiation pneumonia in inhaled beclomethasone group (2 /28) was significantly lower than that in oral prednisone group (8 /29) during radiotherapy. The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety of radiotherapy between the therapeutic group (inhaled beclomethasone during radiotherapy) and the control radiotherapy group (patients received radiotherapy only), especially the incidence of radiation-induced pneumonia within half a year.

NCT ID: NCT03888118 Not yet recruiting - Stroke Clinical Trials

Clinical Efficacy of Luna EMG Robot Therapy for Patients After Stroke

Start date: April 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A lot of studies prove that rehabilitation with the use of modern devices accelerates the recovery of function in patients after stroke. Repeated correct movement patterns affect the central nervous system and stimulating its plasticity. Despite the fact that so many studies confirm the validity of therapy using robots, it is still difficult to assess to what extent its use improves the effectiveness of traditional therapy. In these studies, we want to objectively assess the effectiveness of the Luna device using EMG biofeedback.

NCT ID: NCT03888261 Not yet recruiting - Heart Failure Clinical Trials

Mind-Body Approaches for Medical Conditions

Start date: April 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Chronic diseases are currently the most prevalent and most costly health conditions world-wide, and morbidity is expected to increase over coming years. Factors such that increased life-expectancy and certain life style-related factors, such as smoking, high-fat diet and alcohol-consumption, are commonly associated with the increase in most of the common chronic diseases. However, more complex psychosocial factors such as depression, stress, work-related dynamics and thinking patterns are thought be associated with poor health status and impaired health related quality of life among patients with suffering from chronic physical conditions (i.e. a biopsychosocial approach). Therefore, psychosocial intervention has been suggested as a complementary treatment strategy for patients with chronic conditions. The aim of this randomized trial is to evaluate the effectiveness of mind-body multidisciplinary rehabilitation on health-related quality of life, and disease specific endpoints in people with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, or heart failure.

NCT ID: NCT03888573 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Cervical Radiculopathy

Stretching Versus Traction in Patients With Cervical Radiculopathy.

Start date: April 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to compare the effects of traction decompression and neck muscle stretching on the magnitude of Flexor Carpi Radialis H-Reflex(HR), Neck Disability Index (NDI), and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) pain scores in patients with cervical radiculopathy.

NCT ID: NCT03888690 Not yet recruiting - Virtual Reality Clinical Trials

Start date: April 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

- Demonstrate the effectiveness of the Virtual Reality (VR) distraction on pain reduction in children and adolescents in onco-hematology unit compared to standard practice. - Evaluate the impact of VR on the level of anxiety induced by invasive procedures - Report traceability of assessment of pain and anxiety scores, and reproducibility of procedural analgesia techniques. - Evaluate the impact of VR on the short-term consequences of procedural pain, especially in terms of phobia of care.

NCT ID: NCT03889054 Not yet recruiting - COPD Clinical Trials

Effect of Education and Respiratory Rehabilitation on Quality of Life in COPD Patients

EDUEPOC
Start date: April 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In patients with COPD and a history of recent exacerbation, to compare the quality of life after completing a joint program of health education and respiratory rehabilitation with those patients who only receive respiratory rehabilitation. To compare lung function, the distance traveled in the 6-minute walk test and in the test of the shuttle between both groups. Also, to compare between both groups adherence to inhaled treatment, physical activity, and emotional condition. Finally, to compare the number of visits to emergencies and hospitalizations, and on the other hand, the number of mild, moderate and severe exacerbations between both groups
