Systemic therapy for renal cell carcinoma (RCC) relies on 2 classes of agents: anti-angiogenic targeted therapy (Vascular endothelial growth factor Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor- VEGFR TKI) and immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI), targeting either PD1/PDL1 axis or CTLA4. Combination therapy is SOC for clear cell RCC in all guidelines with either ICI-ICI or ICI-VEGFR TKI. However, no head-to-head comparison have been performed between the 2 approaches and patients are treated based on physician decision without clinical /biomarker factors to guide treatment selection. PDL1 staining is, to date, the biomarker that has demonstrated its ability to enrich for overall survival benefit favoring ICI-ICI strategy in PDL1(+) and ICI-VEGFR TKI in PDL1(-) patients. Study design has been developed to demonstrate that ICI-ICI is superior to ICI-VEGFR TKI in prolonging Overall Survival (OS) for PDL1(+) patients and to demonstrate that ICI-VEGFR TKI is superior to ICI-ICI in prolonging Progression Free Survival (PFS) and OS for PDL1(-) patients.
The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of barzolvolimab in adults with prurigo nodularis.
This study is a Phase I, dose-escalation study of AU409 in advanced hepatocellular carcinoma patients who failed standard treatment. A '3+3' dose-escalation design will be utilized to gradually increase the dose of AU409, aiming to assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary antitumor efficacy of multi-dose AU409 in patients with advanced HCC.
The overall aim is to identify the dietary pattern for prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes. The specific aim of this pilot project is to compare effects of two diets with different diurnal distribution of carbohydrates and protein on the glucose metabolism in subjects with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes and its effects on inflammatory status.
Health-related habits influences mental and physical health. Still, treatment of health-related habits, which can help to remedy health problems, is often not done at all or very superficially. Multiple guidelines emphasize the importance of prioritizing health-related habits, but there is a lack of implemented models. To solve this, the investigators have developed a transdiagnostic, interprofessional material intended for several care settings. The Lev-g intervention is intended for groups. There is also an individual version of Lev that has its on registration in Clinical Trails.
This clinical trial included 30 cases and aimed to understand the effectiveness and safety of the VMAC regimen combined with donor lymphocyte infusion (DLI) in the treatment of patients with acute myeloid leukemia who have relapsed after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The main questions it aims to answer are: The safety and efficacy of VMAC combined with DLI in the treatment of allo HSCT recurrence in AML patients;
During a heart attack, the protein troponin I is released from the heart muscle into the bloodstream. Measurements of cardiac troponin in blood are used as an aid in the diagnosis of heart attack. The SpinChip hs-cTnI test is a new high-sensitive test for measuring the amount of cardiac troponin I in the bloodstream as an aid in the diagnosis of heart attack. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that different types of blood samples (finger prick, venous whole blood and plasma) return comparable results when analysed using the SpinChip hs-cTnI test. Blood samples from at least 150 patients will be analyzed and the testing will be carried out by healthcare personnel.
A total of 38 patients with early-stage Parkinson's disease and 38 patients with prodromal Parkinson's disease are planned to be enrolled in this study and examined for longitudinal changes in [18F]AV-133 through follow-up, thereby informing the design of future therapeutic trials utilizing [18F]AV-133 as a marker of disease progression.
The investigative team will conduct a 2-arm randomized control trial to examine the preliminary effect of LinkPositively+ (LPP) an enhanced version of LinkPositively (LP) mobile app on improved HIV care outcomes including improved retention in HIV care, ART adherence, and viral suppression using hair sample analysis and passive electronic, medical record review, and secondarily, self-reported increased social support via activation of social support networks (i.e., assessed by utilization), self-efficacy, and utilization of ancillary support services at baseline, 3- and 6-month post enrollment. Black women living with HIV (WLHA) with a lifetime history of interpersonal violence, who have been linked to care but may have fallen out of care in the past year will be randomized 1:1 to either the LP arm or the LPP arm.
This trial studies how well a new assessment system (MDASI or other MD Anderson-developed PRO instrument) works in measuring symptoms and the impact on quality of life in cancer patients. Development of a new assessment system may provide more information about the common symptoms that may occur in patients due to cancer and its treatment and how the symptoms impact quality of life.
