RJBC-APP and Breast Cancer Treatment Compliance

Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this multicentric randomized controlled clinical trial is to test the role of mobile medical application (APP) on adjuvant therapy compliance and quality of life (QoL) in patients with early breast cancer. Participants assigned to the Ruijin Breast Cancer APP (RJBC-APP) group can receive treatment reminders, matters needing attention as well as science knowledge and they can communicate with the medical staff during adjuvant treatments while follow-up can only be conducted in outpatient clinic for those in the Control group.

A Study to Learn About the Relationship Between Hepatic Impairment and Myelosuppression (Decreased Bone Marrow Function) in Breast Cancer Patients Treated With the Study Medicine Palbociclib (Pal-bow-sai-klib)

Start date: March 1, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to evaluate incidence of grade 4 neutropenia in patients who have hepatic impairment and use the study medicine Palbociclib. This study is seeking participants: - treated with the study medicine Palbociclib - having any breast cancer records in same month as the index date (the first prescription date) - having prescription records of palbociclib from 20 December 2016 to 29 February 2024 The study design is a cohort study. This study design uses de-identified patient data from a hospital based electronic medical record and claim database in Japan. One of the important side effects of taking Palbociclib is neutropenia (decreased count of neutrophils - a type of white blood cell). In this study, the relationship between neutropenia caused by Palbociclib and hepatic impairment was studied after it was released to the market. To do that, the study gathered details of breast cancer patients newly treated with Palbociclib from 23 hospitals and 10 medical institutes across Japan. The below patient details were collected: - dose of Palbociclib - other medicines prescribed for cancer - age - gender - past information on cancer treatments - laboratory findings at baseline The result was based on the neutrophil count collected from the laboratory data. Around 1300 patients newly treated with Palbociclib for breast cancer was calculated by the medical information database network (MID-NET) in 6 years from 15 December 2017.

Transcutaneous Electrical Acupoint Stimulation on Symptoms Associated With Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy

Start date: July 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Breast cancer ranks first in Taiwan's top ten gynecological cancers. Chemotherapy is a standard treatment method for colorectal cancer and breast cancer, but while destroying cancer cells, it also destroys healthy cells, resulting in side effects. Peripheral neuropathy can lead to peripheral nerve damage and decreased activity, which affects the patient's quality of life. Currently, there is no standard and effective method for treating peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of percutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation on improving peripheral nerve symptoms in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Contribution of Oncogenetics in Breast Cancer in Reunion Epidemiology of Breast Cancer in Reunion: Study of the Reunion Mutation on BRCA2

CanSeR-OGen
Start date: August 22, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In mainland France, breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, with an estimated incidence of over 58,000 new cases. Even if breast cancer is a cancer with a good prognosis, it is responsible for more than 12,000 deaths per year (first cause of death by cancer in women in France). Breast cancer is a multifactorial disease, which results from the interaction between environmental, lifestyle, hormonal and genetic risk factors. In Reunion, more than 400 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed annually. As in mainland France, it is by far the most common cancer in Reunionese women, and its incidence continues to increase significantly since the age-standardized incidence rate increased by 28% between 2007 and 2017 to establish at 64.2/100,000 AP. Two studies carried out in patients carrying mutations in the breast-ovary predisposition genes in Reunion, showed that more than 50% of patients carrying BRCA mutation have a mutation specific to the Reunion population on the BRCA2 gene. These two studies, which confirm the genetic specificities of Reunion already described in other pathologies (Mucoviscidosis or Friedreich's Ataxia), suggest that this mutation could have a significant frequency in patients with breast cancer. Thus, evaluating the prevalence of this mutation in patients with breast cancer in Réunion would make it possible to adapt the indications for access to the oncogenetics consultation and the associated preventive measures

The Clinical Value of an Artificial Intelligence System Using Abbreviated Protocol of Breast MRI Facilitates Classification of Breast Lessions

Start date: July 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

This study aims to use a combination of abbreviated protocol and artificial intelligence to automatically identify lesions and make diagnosis without decreasing the diagnostic accuracy of breast cancer, thus enhancing the comfort of patient examination, accelerating the flow of examination and reducing the load of clinical work.
