The main questions are: - Is the intervention feasible for adolescents who are experiencing anxiety symptoms? - How do the adolescents experience the use of the intervention? - Does the intervention lead to a reduction in anxiety symptoms? - Does the intervention lead to a clinically significant reliable improvement at functional level?

The Effect of Emotional Freedom Technique on Anxiety Levels of Nurses Caring for COVID19 Patients

It is very important to protect and improve the physical, mental and social health of nurses, especially in the event that nurses frequently encounter patients diagnosed or suspected of COVID-19 and are exposed to the virus for a long time due to the long duration of care, increasing cases and the death of their colleagues. Que et al., 2020). Current researches have made it necessary for nurses to have difficulties in effectively coping with the anxiety experienced in the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected the whole world, and to apply new effective methods, as their training includes effective coping methods (Feinstein and Church, 2010). There are studies that are effective in reducing stress and anxiety, such as meditation, yoga, and breathing therapies, which are recommended to prevent the increase in stress and anxiety levels that may occur in nurses by evaluating the experienced situations (Labrague et al., 2020; Vieta et al., 2020). In addition to these applications, it is seen that Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) has been increasingly used recently in controlling and reducing anxiety (Hartmann, 2016). EFT is a type of energy-based psychotherapy that combines the components of Western psychology and Eastern medicine, applied to eliminate negative thoughts and feelings and problems related to emotions (İnangil et al., 2020; Church, 2013). Although the EFT technique is used in many different areas today, its effect on the level of anxiety in nurses during the COVID-19 process is not yet known. As a result, to evaluate the effect of EFT, whose positive results have been proven by many studies, on the anxiety level of nurses caring for COVID-19 patients.

Effect of Vibrating Tourniquet and Distraction Cards on Pain and Anxiety in Children

The aim of the study was to observe the effect of the use of vibrating tourniquet and distraction card on the pain, fear and anxiety levels felt during the blood collection process in children. The study was conducted between July 2021 and March 2022 as a randomized controlled study with totally 120 children in three groups. The 'Child and Parent Identification Form' was used for socio-demographic data about the child and the parent before phlebotomy. The 'Visual Analog Scale (VAS)', 'Child Fear Scale (CFS)' and 'Child Anxiety Scale-State Scale (ÇAS-D)' were used before, during and after the phlebotomy. Vibrating Tourniquet Group (intervention group 1) consists of a total of 40 children. Distraction Cards Group (intervention group 2) consists of a total of 40 children. Control group consists of a total of 40 children.

The Effect of Smartphone-Based Virtual Reality Relaxation (S-VR) in Cancer Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy

The aim of this trial study is to identify the effect of S-VR on comfort and self-efficacy of symptom management in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Additional objectives of this study include: (a) identifying the effect of S-VR on anxiety in chemotherapy patients; (b) identifying the effect of S-VR on pain intensity of chemotherapy patients; (c) identifying the effect of S-VR on vital signs (pulse and blood pressure) of chemotherapy patients. Participants is randomly assigned into two group: SVR intervention group and control group. In the SVR group, participants will use a VR device (head-mounted display/HMD) with 360-degree natural panoramic and music relaxation contents. Control group will receive standard care in the form of guided imagery leaflet. The research will adhere to the ethical standards outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki and its subsequent amendments, as well as the protocol under reviewed by Medical and Health Research Ethics Committee (MHREC) Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing Universitas Gadjah Mada - Dr. Sardjito General Hospital Yogyakarta (Approval Number: KE/FK/0301/EC/2023). The Effect of Progressive Relaxation Exercises on Anxiety, Satisfaction and Stress Levels Before Simulation Education

The simulation-based learning method causes a sense of anxiety in students. Studies have shown that progressive relaxation exercises have a positive effect on anxiety. This study, will be tried to determine the effect of the progressive relaxation exercises applied to the students before the simulation training on anxiety, student satisfaction, and stress. This study is an intervention study with a pretest-posttest control group. Before the study, Personal Information Form, State Anxiety Scale, Student Satisfaction and Self-Confidence in Learning Scale, Perceived Stress Scale for Nursing Students, and Students' Vital Findings Evaluation Form will be applied. After applying progressive relaxation exercises to the intervention group, they will be taken to the simulation laboratory. The control group will be taken to the simulation laboratory without any intervention. After the simulation application, the scales will be re-applied and the vital signs of the students will be measured again.

Treatment of Stress and Anxiety in MCI/Mild ADRD

The goal of this clinical trial is to test the effectiveness of a computerized anxiety sensitivity treatment (CAST) compared to a health education control (HEC) in older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or mild Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias (ADRD) and their care partners. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Efficacy of CAST in reducing anxiety and related symptoms among those with MCI/mild ADRD 2. Efficacy of CAST in reducing care partner burden among care partners of people living with MCI/mild ADRD 3. Explore treatment mechanisms using a multi-modal assessment battery of anxiety sensitivity and anxiety Participants will complete six in-person visits including a baseline assessment, two intervention sessions, and three follow-up assessments at 1, 3, and 6-months posttreatment. Participants will also complete three weeks of ecological momentary assessments (EMAs) for one week prior to intervention, one week between intervention sessions, and one week after intervention. If there is a comparison group: Researchers will compare CAST to HEC to see if CAST reduces anxiety and related symptoms in older adults with MCI/mild ADRD and care partner burden to a greater degree than HEC.

Impact of Virtual Reality on Anxiety in Patients Undergoing Interventional Procedures

Periprocedural anxiety is a common problem for patients who undergo interventional pain procedures. Virtual Reality (VR) is an immersive experience that has gained acceptance in the medical field as a tool for reducing anxiety and pain for patients.Research Aim: To evaluate the effect of immersive virtual reality (VR) on periprocedural anxiety related to therapeutic cervical epidural steroid injections (ESI). The investigators hypothesize that immersive virtual reality will result in a clinically meaningful anxiety reduction, defined as the proportion of participants with > 50% reduction in Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) anxiety scores when compared to participants in the non-treatment group who will have standard preprocedural waiting time conditions in clinic, but no VR experience. Similarly, the investigators hypothesize a significant reduction in objective sympathetic tone as measured by skin sympathetic nerve activity (SKNA).
