Filter by:Epidemiological data on pulmonary embolism (PE) in China needs to be updated and reported. The China Pulmonary Thromboembolism Registry Study (CURES) is designed to provide the cross-sectional spectrum and chronological trends of PE in China, as well as to reveal the intrinsic etiology and pathogenesis of the disease. The CURES is an ongoing large prospective multicenter registry, which was originally initiated in January 2009 via enrolling suspected or confirmed PE or PE with DVT (deep venous thrombosis) patients and assessed their in-hospital outcomes from 100 medical centers in the China PE-DVT network. As of July 2011, in order to determine the PE-relevant short-term outcomes, enrolled participants were followed-up for at least three months in a longitudinal manner. Since August 2016, with the launch and development of precision medicine research scheme in China, the main principle investigators of CURES decided to collect enrolled patients' blood samples with regular follow-ups every three or six months for at least two years (for long-term outcomes). The study protocol has been approved by the China-Japan Friendship Hospital ethics committee, and all collaborating centers received approvals from their local ethics committee. All patients provided written or verbal informed consent to their participation.
This is a post-market, observational, retrospective multi-center Registry designed to gather information on the performance of the Angel® Catheter in general clinical practice.
Beyond the first 6 months of anticoagulation, patients with a first episode of unprovoked venous thromboembolism have a high risk of recurrence after stopping anticoagulations. Extending anticoagulant therapy for an additional 18 months is associated with a major reduction of recurrent VTE; however this benefit tended to be lost after stopping anticoagulation during a follow-up period of two years. This risk of recurrentce is likely to continuously increase over the years as well as the risk of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (after pulmonary embolism) or the risk of post-thrombotic syndrome (after deep vein thrombosis). The aim of the PADIS-EXTENSION trial is to estimate these risks over 6 years of follow-up in patients who have been initially treated during 6 months or 24 months (patients included in the PADIS PE and PADIS DVT trial).
This pilot trial studies how well single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)/computed tomography (CT) with technetium Tc-99m sulfur colloid works in measuring liver function in patients with liver cancer that has or has not spread to other place in the body who are undergoing radiation therapy or surgery. Diagnostic procedures, such as sulfur colloid SPECT/CT scans, may measure normal liver tissue before, during and after treatment and help doctors plan better treatment for liver cancer patients.
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a vascular disease characterized by the formation of a thrombus within the venous system, mainly the lower limbs. The clot structure directly influences both its location, but also its progressive profile expansion material or regression and embolic migration. Few data are available regarding the evolution of structural properties of thrombus after an acute episode of DVT. Thrombus formation is due to the polymerization of fibrinogen into fibrin. Fibrin is a viscoelastic polymer. Its mechanical properties directly determine how the thrombus responds to forces which it is subjected. Determining the mechanical properties of the thrombus in vivo and ex vivo is expected to study its evolutionary properties.
To date, there is no treatment strategies for these patients according to American Association of the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD) practice guidelines and Baveno V consensus. Thus, we aim to compare the safety and efficacy of TIPS and conservative treatment (non-selective beta blockers, endoscopic therapy and/or anticoagulation) in patients with PVT and CPTV.
The RETORIC study is a prospective cohort study with a primary aim to assess the incidence and independent predictors of reduced leaflet motion and valve thrombosis after TAVI procedure using multimodality imaging strategy comprising cardiac CT, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and transthoracic echocardiography (TTE). As a secondary aim we will assess the incidence of stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA) in patients with reduced leaflet motion and/or thrombosis when compared with those with normal leaflet function. In addition we will randomize patients with reduced leaflet motion and/or valve thrombosis to single antiplatelet therapy plus oral anticoagulation therapy versus standard therapy. The primary outcome of the nested randomized trial will be the presence of reduced leaflet motion and/or valve thrombosis after 4 months, the secondary outcome is the presence of ischemic changes in brain demonstrated by MRI.
PEPPER is a randomized study comparing the three most commonly used anticoagulants in North America in patients who have elected to undergo primary or revision hip or knee joint replacement surgery. The anticoagulants being compared are enteric coated aspirin, low intensity warfarin, and rivaroxaban.
PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) are commun used. Just one paper report morbidity with suture as fixation system for PICC (dislodgement, infection) In the guidelines it's recommended to use sutureless device. The devices actually used are unsatisfactory because of the high risk of migration, accidental removal. A new device, called KTFIX PLUS, seem to be more secure for PICC fixation and offer the possibility to simplify the after care. This device may stay on patient for 4 weeks. Others devices may be changed 1/week. The investigators aimed to compare morbidity between this new device and the old one. The investigators also want to perform an economic evaluation of this device and compare patient quality of life.
