Allopurinol is a drug used for treating hyperuricemia and gout for many years. Recently, allopurinol has been proved to inhibit the production of NLRP3 in monocytes and reduce the level of IL-1beta, resulting in the decrease of TNF-alpha, IL-6 and CRP. Thus, in this study, the investigators aim to evaluate the efficacy and safety of allopurinol sustained-release capsules on improving the stability of coronary plaque in patients with acute coronary syndrome treated by conventional standardized therapy by the single-center, prospective, randomized, double-blind and controlled methods, which would provide new strategies for the treatment of coronary heart disease.

Klippel-Feil syndrome (KFS) was first described in 1912 by Klippel and Feil as a classic triad are comprised of a short neck, a low posterior hairline and restricted motion of the neck. This disease is considered as one of the congenital causes of difficult airway with the incidence of 1:42,000 live births. The current research findings suggested that the difficulties of airway management for KFS increases with age. In pediatric patients, the airway of those patients can be managed without difficulties. For adults, the fiberoptic-assisted intubation is also suggested. The purpose of this study is to review the airway management of pediatric patients with KFS to provide recommendation of airway management for these patients. A retrospective electronic chart review will be conducted by using Boston Children's Hospital (BCH) database, which identified patients with KFS who had undergone general anesthesia from June 2012 to June 2018.

Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) is characterized by severe, unusual headaches associated with multifocal segmental vasoconstriction of the intracerebral arteries. In addition to headache, focal neurological deficit and/or seizures are quite frequently described, but anterograde amnesia seems to but extremely rare. Indeed, to date, only one case of RCVS associated with transient global amnesia (TGA) has been published. In case of an atypical presentation of TG, associated with brutal headaches, it is important not to ignore an assocation with RCVS because management, treatment, evolution and prognosis are different. Indeed, TGA is a monophasic phenomenon of less than 24 hours duration, without associated complications, which does not require any particular treatment. On the other hand, RCVS, although most often of excellent prognosis, can have severe complications such as intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome and cerebral infarction. In order to limit headaches and potential complications, RCVS require special management, including symptomatic treatments for headaches, complete rest, removal of precipitin factors and introduction of calcium channel blockers for a few weeks. This study aim to described three cases of patient who presented with concomitant TGA and RCVS, and to discuss pathogenic mechanism which may be similar in both these pathologies.
This study will assess the relationship between early unmet needs after hospital discharge and subsequent clinical outcomes among survivors of acute respiratory failure. The investigators hypothesize that early unmet needs are associated with poor outcomes at three months.
This study evaluates the efficacy of vaginal CO2 laser therapy in breast cancer survivors with symptoms of Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause. Half of participants will receive active laser therapy, while the other half placebo therapy.
Non-pharmacological interventional pilot study on the effect of prismatic glasses for the improvement of Pisa syndrome in Parkinson's disease. The study involves 40 patients, of whom 20 receive active treatment and 20 slow placebo. At the end of the study, all patients receive corrective lenses in compassionate use if the study yields positive results.
Neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) remains a major respiratory disorder for the increasing preterm population, and its incidence has been confirmed to be increased gradually with decreased gestational age. Previous studies demonstrated incidences of 90% at 24 weeks', 80% at 28 weeks', 57% at 30-31 weeks', and 25% at 35-36 weeks' gestational age(GA). However, these figures were mainly performed in the pre-neonatal acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) era, in which ARDS was usually considered as RDS, and surfactant was therefore used repeatedly. In fact, no studies have indicated beneficial effects of surfactant for adult and pediatric ARDS, and therefore, its exact action for neonatal ARDS was needed to be further elucidated. In 2017, the international ARDS collaborative group provided the first consensus definition for neonatal ARDS, and the exact incidence of neonatal ARDS and mortality were unknown.
