Comparison of OSTAP and EOIP Blocks in Laparoscopic Cholecystectomies

Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) surgery causes postoperative severe pain. As part of multimodal analgesia aimed at reducing postoperative opioid consumption and providing effective analgesia, ultrasound (US)-guided transversus abdominis plane block (TAP) and external oblique intercostal plane block (EOIPB) will be applied as regional anesthesia methods. There is no study in the literature comparing OSTAP and EOIP blocks, and our goal is to evaluate the analgesic effectiveness between OSTAP and EOIP blocks in LC surgeries.

Preemptive Ibuprofen Effects on Pain Perception Following Extraction and Bone Graft

The goal of this randomized clinical trial is to compare patient-reported pain and oral health-related quality of life during the first postoperative week following extraction and bone graft surgery in patients who received preemptive ibuprofen versus placebo. Participants will receive ibuprofen 600mg or placebo by mouth with water 1 hour prior to extraction and bone graft surgery. The primary question it aims to answer is: • Does preemptive ibuprofen have an effect on postoperative pain 1 hour following extraction and bone graft surgery compared to placebo? Secondary questions are: - Does preemptive ibuprofen have an effect on pain during the first 3 postoperative hours and 7 postoperative days following extraction and bone graft surgery compared to placebo? - Does preemptive ibuprofen have an effect on oral health-related quality of life during the 7 postoperative days following extraction and bone graft surgery compared to placebo?

The Role of BEMER and Kinesiotape in Increasing the Effectiveness of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Program After Videothoracoscopy Surgery

The literature indicates that postoperative pulmonary complications are seen when pain is not treated effectively after videothoracoscopy surgery (VATS). After surgery, physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches are applied to prevent complications. Bio-Electro-Magnetic-Energy-Regulation (BEMER) therapy uses low-frequency electromagnetic energy to regulate vasomotion in capillaries and increase microcirculation. BEMER therapy can be applied together with physiotherapy and rehabilitation. The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of BEMER application, which is added to the physiotherapy and rehabilitation program applied after videothoracoscopy surgery.

IV Oxytocin for Post Operative Pain After Minimally Invasive Hysterectomy

This double-blinded, placebo-control trial clinical trial aims to investigate the effect of IV oxytocin infusion on peri-operative opioid consumption following a minimally invasive hysterectomy under general anesthesia. The patient population will be women scheduled for an elective, minimally invasive hysterectomy at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The investigators hypothesize that, compared to a placebo, exposure to intravenous (IV) oxytocin will reduce the amount of opioid consumption for women after a minimally invasive hysterectomy procedure.

Perioperative Methadone in Hip Fracture Patients

Postoperative analgesic treatment needs to be improved. Numerous studies suggest that a single dose of Methadone given during surgery significantly ameliorates postoperative pain and reduces postoperative opioid consumption. Perioperative methadone is already used in isolated cases such as patients with chronic pain or patients with high morphine tolerance. However, it is not routinely used in the elderly and fragile, and there is insufficient reliable evidence on this treatment and population. Further investigation is highly relevant and necessary.

Erector Spinae Plane Block (ESPB) Versus Quadratus Lumborum Block (QLB) for Postoperative Analgesia After Caesarean Section

Management of pain after caesarean section represents an important anesthesiologic issue, since it is often suboptimal, leading to delayed functional recovery and chronic pain. Currently, the postoperative analgesic strategy mostly relies on intrathecal morphine (ITM) and multimodal analgesic regimen. Recently, the need for alterative opioid sparing techniques is emerging. Paraspinal fascial plane blocks, as quadratus lumborum block (QLB) and erector spinae plane block (ESPB) performed at T9 level, have therefore been proposed as alternatives to ITM, because of their demonstrated effect on visceral and somatic pain. The aim of the study is to assess the efficacy, the feasibility and safety of bilateral ESPB compared to bilateral QLB for the management of postoperative pain after ceasarean section conducted under spinal anesthesia without ITM.

This research aim to improve postoperative outcome in total hip arthroplasty(THA) by using local mixture infiltration as bupivacaine + NSAID + epinephrine + tranxemic acid. In the present time these mixture components has shown to improve THA outcome by aspect of postoperative pain control, postoperative opioid consumption, postoperative bleeding, LOS and postoperative rehabilitation without increasing complication but the accuracy of infiltration technique which gives the best outcome has not been yet discovered.Recently study by Hashimoto et al has risen that these technique can be administrated by both periarticular and intra-articular approach.By considering the complexity of human anatomy around the hip tissue we assume that the intra-articular(transarticular) may given equivalence (may be better) outcome with lowering procedural related complication comparing to periarticular infiltration approach.
