Filter by:The recent development of dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) technology for hyperpolarized (HP) 13C imaging offers a promising new avenue for non-invasively accessing fundamental metabolic changes associated with the progression of fatty liver disease in vivo. The purpose of this pilot study is to optimize sequence parameters for hyperpolarized 13C acquisition in the human liver and determine which metabolic changes can be seen in humans with simple, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) when compared to healthy volunteers.
This is a multicenter prospective single arm phase II study. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficiency of azacytidine combined with CAOLD Regimen in the treatment of relapsed/refractory angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.
Cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) describes a set of pathologies affecting the smallest blood vessels in the brain. SVD contributes to up to a fifth of ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes en is the main vascular cause of dementia. On MRI, SVD is marked by different types of lesions, including white matter abnormalities, and small infarcts and hemorrhages. Recent studies indicate that SVD develops slowly over the years, starting presumably decades before the typical MRI lesions become apparent. High blood pressure plays an important role in the development of SVD MRI lesions. However, it remains unclear exactly how hypertension leads to vascular pathology. To gain more insight into how hypertension leads to SVD it is important to study mechanisms in individuals (largely) free of SVD, that is before midlife. Therefore, the investigators aim to examine abnormalities in brain (micro) structure and vascular function in young patients with hypertension. Furthermore, the investigators aim to determine the effects of blood pressure increase and subsequent blood pressure reduction during a period of withdrawal and restart of blood pressure lowering drugs on brain (micro)structure and vascular function.
The primary objective of this clinical performance study is to evaluate and further validate the clinical performance of: 1. ClariLight Influenza A/B & SARS-CoV-2 test kits and 2. ClariLight Influenza A/B & RSV test kits, for the qualitative detection and differential diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2, influenza A, influenza B, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) present in anterior nasal and oropharyngeal swab, in combination with an automated molecular diagnostic analyzer and sample collection tube by comparing them against a CE marked, in-vitro diagnostic device, used in the standard of care.
The study will evaluate the pharmacokinetic characteristics, safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy of 9MW1911 in combination with standard of care COPD maintenance therapy in patients with moderate to severe COPD.
AECOPD is a major cause of hospital admission and mortality. They contribute to long-term decline in lung function, physical capacity, and quality of life (QoL). RLS-0071 is a novel peptide being developed for the treatment of AECOPD. This study is designed to evaluate the safety and tolerability of RLS-0071 in the treatment of adults with moderate exacerbations of COPD.
This randomized phase II trial studies how well obinutuzumab works as maintenance treatment in patients with central nervous system lymphoma who have achieved the disappearance of all signs of cancer in response to treatment (complete response) or a decrease in the size of a tumor, or in the extent of cancer in the body, in response to treatment (partial response). Immunotherapy with obinutuzumab, may induce changes in body's immune system and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.
The investigators hypothesize that a combination of prednisolone and itraconazole would significantly reduce the exacerbation rate at one-year of patients with acute allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) compared to itraconazole or prednisolone monotherapy. In this study, 300 subjects aged ≥18 years with acute ABPA will be randomized to treatment with either prednisolone, itraconazole, or prednisolone plus itraconazole, all for four months each. After collecting baseline demographic, immunologic, and imaging data, the investigators will follow the patients every 2 months for the first two visits and then every four months for three visits. The primary outcome will be the proportion of subjects experiencing exacerbation (asthma or ABPA) 12 months after treatment completion.
This is a descriptive observational study, in which data are collected in an epidemiological fashion and prospective. This study does not intend to intervene the current medical practice of the recruited patients.
The goal of this pilot interventional no-profit study is to evaluate airway pressure, esophageal pressure and variations in lung volume distribution with EIT in mechanically ventilated patients admitted to our UTI with respiratory failure after the application of an abdominal weight and resulting increase of intra-abdominal pressure.
