This is an open-label, single arm, multi-stage, phase II trial of Trifluridine/tipiracil as a palliative treatment for patients with metastatic triple negative breast cancer who have failed both a taxane and anthracycline or have contraindications to these agents.

Glomerular hyperfiltration is a major risk factor for accelerated glomerular filtration rate (GFR) decline and renal and cardiovascular events despite optimized conservative therapy with blood pressure and blood glucose (in diabetics) lowering medications and inhibitors of the Renin Angiotensin System (RAS) such as Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and/or Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (ARBs). Progressive GFR decline initiated and sustained by glomerular hyperfiltration in subjects with diabetes, unhealthy obesity, hypertension and other risk factors, is paralleled by progressive glomerulosclerosis and loss of functioning nephrons. The inhibition of the sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) in the proximal tubular segments of the nephrons appears to be an ideal, specific intervention to inhibit the tubulo-glomerular feedback and ameliorate glomerular hyperfiltration in subjects with absolute or relative hyperfiltration associated with unhealthy obesity or proteinuric chronic kidney disease (CKD). Indeed, by reducing tubular sodium reabsorption, SGLT2 inhibitors may enhance sodium chloride delivery to the macula densa, restore pre-glomerular resistances and therefore limit glomerular hyperperfusion and consequent hyperfiltration. Moreover, because of its natriuretic effects, SGLT2 inhibition therapy might reduce the sodium overload and volume expansion which, along with secondary hypertension, may further contribute to kidney hyperperfusion and glomerular hyperfiltration in obesity and CKD.

This trial studies how well digital PET scan works in predicting outcomes in patients with oropharyngeal cancer that has spread from where it started to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced). The development of digital detectors for PET is a technological improvement in medical imaging that could potentially impact many areas of clinical oncology, including staging, radiation planning accuracy, and the assessment of treatment response. Digital technology may improve PET imaging performance by providing better timing, energy and spatial resolution, higher count rate capabilities and linearity, increased contrast, and reduced noise. Utilizing digital PET scan, may work better in predicting outcomes and treatment response in patients with oropharyngeal cancer compared to conventional PET.
The purpose of this study is to determine if RTB101 prevents illness associated with respiratory tract infections in people ≥65 years of age.
This is an open label, risk-stratified, sequential treatment, phase 2 study of newly diagnosed post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders with positive CD20 and CD30 expression. It includes an induction phase with rituximab and brentuximab vedotin (RBv), followed by a treatment phase with RBv or RBv in combination with bendamustine (RBvB) based on response to induction. The primary end point is treatment efficacy measured as the overall response rate (ORR) and progression free survival (PFS).
This randomized, multicenter, double-blind (DB), placebo controlled, phase 2 study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of IgPro10. The DB Treatment Period will be followed by a 24-week Open-label (OL) Treatment Period. Eligible subjects will be randomized at Baseline in a 2:1 ratio of treatment IgPro10 or placebo in the DB Treatment Period. All subjects who enter OL Treatment Period will receive IgPro10.
The goal of this study is to determine if early placement of a midline catheter in patients with a central venous catheter (CVC) will decrease the number of days the CVC is in place. Patients who are in the medical intensive care unit (MICU) and have a CVC may be approached to join the study. Those who meet study eligibility and provide written consent will be enrolled. The longer the CVC remains in place,the greater the chance of developing an infection or blood clot. Any IV line that is placed (CVC, midline, peripheral line) comes with the risk of infection or blood clots, although that risk is generally less with the midline and peripheral IV lines than a CVC. The treating team will make the decision when to remove the CVC. The timeline of removal will be compared to previous data collected on patients similar to the ones in this study. During their hospital stay, study patients will be monitored for how well the midline catheter is functioning as well as if they develop a catheter related blood clot or infection.
