This trial studies how well [18F]-AraG works in detecting T-cell activation in patients with non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to other places in the body (advanced), who are undergoing PD-1/PD-L1-directed therapy. [18F]-AraG is a "radiotracer" which attaches to immune cells directed at the cancer and shines a light that can be seen using a special camera, called a "positron emission tomography" or "PET" scanner. [18F]-AraG may improve the ability to detect a response of the cancer in the body to immunotherapy.

Articaine/epinephrine and lidocaine/epinephrine are the most common routine local anesthetic agents currently used in dentistry. However, their anesthetic efficacy and pain control in patients with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis via inferior alveolar nerve block is very low. The aim of this study is to investigate the efficacy of clonidine versus articaine/epinpephrine as a local anesthetic agent for a buccal infiltration after IANB administration with lidocaine for (1) successful IANB, (2) hemodynamic stability, and (3) reducing dental anxiety for endodontic treatment in mandibular molars diagnosed with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis.

Progesterone resistance is mediated through epigenetic modification through SirT1 activation and is thought to contribute to infertility and progression of endometriosis. Endometriosis is a leading cause of unexplained IVF failure secondary to inflammatory changes that induce SirT1. The current study is designed to investigate a small molecule inhibitor of SirT1, in the clinical setting of In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer. The SAFER trial will compare EX-527 to placebo in a randomized, double-blind trial. Primary endpoints include Live Birth Rate (LBR) and secondary outcomes include pregnancy rate (PR), miscarriage rate (MR) and implantation failure rate.

Enhancing Nutrition and Antenatal Infection Treatment for Maternal and Child Health in Ethiopia

The ENAT study will test the impact of packages of antenatal interventions to enhance maternal nutrition and manage pregnancy infections on the outcomes of infant birth size, gestational length, and infant growth in the first 6 months of life. Approximately 5,280 pregnant women will be enrolled into the study from 12 health centers in the Amhara region of Ethiopia. Routine antenatal care will be strengthened in all health centers, and six health centers will be randomized to additionally provide a nutritional intervention including daily multiple-micronutrient or a fortified balanced-energy protein supplement for malnourished women. Women across all 12 health centers will be individually randomized to receive one of three infection management interventions in pregnancy: 1) enhanced infection management package (screening-treatment for urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted infections, presumptive deworming); 2) presumptive azithromycin (2g at <24 wks and a second dose at least 4 weeks later); or 3) placebo. The women and their infants will be followed until 6 months postpartum. Outcomes of interest include birth size (weight, length), gestational age, maternal weight gain in pregnancy, maternal anemia, antimicrobial resistance, and infant size at 6 months.

Effect of Atrial Pacing on Right Ventricular Function After Cardiac Surgery

Temporary pacing with an external pacemaker after open heart surgery - besides preventing arrhythmias and AV-conduction disorders - is used to improve cardiac output. In theory, postoperative stunning temporarily limits stroke volume and SA-node dysfunction compromises an adequate compensatory rise in heartrate to ensure sufficient cardiac output. There is a lack of consensus regarding the use of this form of pacing. Protocols vary widely between hospitals. Moreover, the scientific base for this form of pacing mainly comprises studies dating back to the nineteen sixties and seventies. Major changes in (operating) techniques have taken place since then. Also, the role of the right ventricle in this context has not been studied specifically. The current study aims to investigate the effects of atrial pacing on right ventricular function specifically and hemodynamics in general, in today's postoperative setting. We hypothesize that a reduction in heart rate may lead to decreased right ventricular function.
