Filter by:As long term totally implantable central venous access (TIVAPS) was increasingly needed in cancer patient, some modified techniques were introduced to improved the outcome and safety of the port implantation. In this modified technique, the prioritization were the safety and stability of catheter and port placement. Catheter was inserted to the cephalic vein in the deltopectoral groove, in which connected to the port pocket implanted in the anteromedial thorax. Connection was done by percutaenous and Seldinger technique by introducing a special trocar to ensure safety. Long term outcome was satisfactorily good by this technique without and major and minor events.
The limited evidence on the value of portal vein resection in patients with borderline resectable and/or locally advanced PanNENs is an incentive to carry out a retrospective multicentre study amongst centres with specific interest in the management of PanNENs and with experience on vascular reconstruction. Unlike previous studies on pancreatic cancer, it is more difficult to standardise the comparative parameters as the definition of borderline resectable disease has never been published for PanNENs. Similarly, different histological classifications make impossible to collect data exclusively on T3 tumours. Therefore, we aim to compare the short and long-term outcomes (including the impact of the histological depth of vascular invasion on survival) between patients undergoing standard PD and PD with portal vein resection for PanNENs, (regardless of T stage), by collecting and analysing retrospective data in this single centre study
The aim of the study is to assess psychological distress and co-morbidity as well as relevant sociodemographic, anthropometric, medical and functional data in patients treated at the Outpatient Clinic for Oncological Rehabilitation at the Department of Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation and Occupational Medicine at the Medical University of Vienna.
Cancer treatments can have a significant impact on a cancer survivor's function and independence, and these patients can have twice the incidence of falls than their cancer-free peers. Balance programs of varying lengths have shown to improve balance performance, increase self-efficacy and decrease fear of falling; however, there are limited intervention studies amongst cancer survivors, and none that examine the combination of balance performance, self-efficacy and fear of falling. It is believed that this study will show that a 6-week Balance, Agility, Strengthening Exercise (BASE) Class is a sufficient time frame to demonstrate a positive effect on balance performance, self-efficacy, and fear of failing in cancer survivors, and will add to the body of knowledge in this population.

The aim of the study is to compare the effects of continuous 3% hypertonic saline (HS), bolus HS and 20% mannitol on intraoperative brain relaxation in patients with raised intracranial pressure during surgery for supratentorial tumors.
Evaluate diagnostic and prognostic value of CD26 positive stem cell Stem Cells in classic myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). To study CD26 expression on different phases of CML (chronic phase, accelerated phase, blastic phase). To investigate whether CD26 positive stem cell are expressed only in Philadelphia chromosome positive MPN (CML) and/or in Philadelphia chromosome negative MPN (PV, ET, PMF).
Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) represents a group of rare tumors that accounts for less than 5% of gynecologic cancers which arising from malignant transformation of trophoblast, a cell originating from placenta. Placental expression of paternal antigens make placenta a target for maternal immune recognition during pregnancy, and PD-L1 expression maintains gestational tolerance. Also in GTN, PD-L1 is strongly expressed, suggesting the ligand is involved in tumor-immune evasion. Most female patients with GTN cured with chemotherapy, however less than 5.0% of them die as a result of multi-drug resistance, necessitating novel approaches. Although there was limited data due to its rarity, the treatment response of avelumab and pembrolizumab in GTN is excellent (50% ~ 71.4% complete remission rate), as reported in the previous studies. Therefore targeting of interaction PD-1/PD-L1 inhibition could be effective therapeutic strategy in chemoresistant GTN. This study investigate clinical efficacy of patients with GTN resistant/refractory to multi-agent chemotherapy who treat with pembrolizumab.

This study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Anlotinib combined with AK105 injection or AK105 monotherapy in subjects with MSI-H or dMMR advanced solid tumors. In this study, 138 subjects will be enrolled, and those who met the admission criteria will divide into cohort 1 (anlotinib combined with AK105) and cohort 2 (AK105 ). The first phase of this study is a randomized, open-label, parallel-controlled, multicenter design, in which 30 subjects are randomly enrolled in two cohorts. The second phase is to continue enrollment of cohort 1 or cohort 2 when which cohort has the better clinical benefit than the other one.
Objectives: To establish if there are differences between an ultrasound-guided transrectal prostate biopsy (BPTE) and a transperineal prostatic biopsy (BPTP) with and without a multiparametric Magnetic Resonance (RMmp) in patients with clinical suspicion of prostate cancer (PC) to first prostatic biopsy in terms of: 1. Rate of detection and diagnosis of prostate cancer. 2. Aggressiveness of the detected tumors. 3. Association of the marker [-2] proPSA and the prostate cancer health index (PHI) and microRNAs for the diagnosis of tumors. 4. Adverse effects of the intervention and subjective perception of the patient: pain and degree of satisfaction, and impairment of quality of life. 5. Cost-effectiveness analysis of the different intervention options. Study Design: Randomized, single-blind prospective clinical study to compare four schemes: RMmp + BPTE vs. BPTE 12 cylinders vs RMmp + BPTP vs BPTP 12 cylinders. Study population: Patients with clinical suspicion of prostate cancer with PSA between 3-20 ng / mL and normal or abnormal rectal examination, candidates for a first prostate biopsy. Research techniques: BPTE standard of 12 cylinders compared to RMmp previous to BPTE vs BPTP of 12 cylinders compared to BPTP with previous RMmp.
