This trial studies how well a mobile smartphone application called Quitting Schedule works in helping participants to quit smoking. Quitting Schedule is based on WebCASSI, a computer-based initiative that offered state of-the-art smoking cessation treatment and counseling to MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) patients and served as a portal for non-patients to find information regarding smoking cessation advice and treatments. Quitting Schedule may help participants to quit smoking.

Comparing ATG or Post-Transplant Cyclophosphamide to Calcineurin Inhibitor-Methotrexate as GVHD Prophylaxis After Myeloablative Unrelated Donor Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Transplantation

This phase II trial studies how well 3 different drug combinations prevent graft versus host disease (GVHD) after donor stem cell transplant. Calcineurin inhibitors, such as cyclosporine and tacrolimus, may stop the activity of donor cells that can cause GVHD. Chemotherapy drugs, such as cyclophosphamide and methotrexate, may also stop the donor cells that can lead to GVHD while not affecting the cancer-fighting donor cells. Immunosuppressive therapy, such as anti-thymocyte globulin (ATG), is used to decrease the body's immune response and reduces the risk of GVHD. It is not yet known which combination of drugs: 1) ATG, methotrexate, and calcineurin inhibitor 2) cyclophosphamide and calcineurin inhibitor, or 3) methotrexate and calcineurin inhibitor may work best to prevent graft versus host disease and result in best overall outcome after donor stem cell transplant.

Rectal administration of opioids using the Macy catheter may help to reduce the cost of care, resolve the issue of medication availability currently faced in the form of parenteral opioid shortage throughout the country, and provide adequate comfort and symptom relief for patients with smoother transition out of hospital.

Evaluation of Hemostatic Agents in Robotic-assisted Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy

The aim of this study is to evaluate whether Hemostatic Agents (HA) make a significant clinical difference in patient outcomes when used for Robotic-Assisted Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy (RALPN). The result of this trial will determine whether HAs are necessary for use during RALPN or if they can be omitted from the surgical tools available during this procedure. This study has a direct clinical implication on a patient's outcomes following RALPN, specifically whether patients will have better, worse, or unchanged outcomes with RALPN if HAs are used.

Phase I Study of SC-43 Oral Solution in Subjects With Refractory Solid Tumors

This phase I study will be conducted in an open-label, conventional 3+3 dose escalation design manner (for the first 28 days of dosing) followed by an extension period for subjects responsive to the study drug to continue dosing up to 52 weeks. This study is intended to assess the safety and efficacy of the investigational product (IP), SC-43 Oral Solution, in subjects with refractory solid tumors. Subjects who have diseases progressing unresponsive to the previous treatments or who have no standard treatments for their current diseases will be enrolled in this study once the eligibility is confirmed. During the first 28 days, the study will be done in the conventional 3+3 design to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of SC-43 Oral Solution. The dose will be increased in a step-wise fashion from the initial dose of 100 mg/day to the dose of 200, 400, 600, 900, and 1200 mg/day. The pharmacokinetics (PK) of SC-43 will also be measured in this period. The dose of SC-43 Oral Solution will be escalated to the subsequent cohorts when there is no dose-limiting toxicity (DLT) in 3 subjects or only one DLT in 6 subjects of the previous cohort, and it is recommended by Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB). The safety results will be reviewed by DSMB after the last subject in the each cohort has finished the Visit 6 (Day 29), and DSMB will determine if it is safe to proceed to the next dose cohort. Subjects who have finished the 28-day dose escalation period and with complete response (CR), partial response (PR), or stable disease (SD) will be eligible to enter the extension period and continue SC-43 Oral Solution therapy up to 52 weeks or until occurrence of unacceptable toxicity, withdrawn consent, disease progression, not receiving medical benefit as considered by investigators, loss of follow-up, or death, whichever comes first. For ethical and safety concerns, the dosage used in this extension period can be adjusted and different from the original dosage assignment. The actual dose of SC-43 Oral Solution, which must be confirmed safe, administered during this extension period will be at the investigator's discretion.

Imaging of Advanced Tumours Using [131]I-IAZA

Hypoxic cells in tumors have less oxygen than normal cells do, which leads to several changes inside the cells that lead to genetic chages making these cells resistant to treatment. The end result of this is increased tumor growth, spread of the tumor and poor outcome. Early studies have shown that [131]I-IAZA scans can help detect if there are hypoxic cells in the tumor. A [131]I-IAZA scan is a nuclear medicine test used to create pictures of the whole body after [131]I-IAZA is injected into a vein. Further scientific research will help understand how [131]I-IAZA is distributed throughout the body and how it can be used to treat hypoxic tumor cells. The purpose of this study is to : 1. Demonstrate the safety of [131]I-IAZA 2. To Determine the biodistribution and tumor avidity of [131]I-IAZA in patients with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors. 3. To determine the optimal imaging time of [131]I-IAZA SPECT. 4. To collect data from imaging and plasma sampling for radiopharmacokinetic analysis of [131]I-IAZA. 5. To determine whole body dosimetry of [131]I-IAZA in selected patients. 6. To evaluate tumor dosimetry of [131]I-IAZA in patients with positive uptake. 7. To determine the radiation dose accrued in hypoxic tumors.
