The setting where the intervention took place was during the concentration prior to the 2020 European Rowing Junior Championships. The final assessment was carried out the week before the championship (after finishing the 10th week of intervention). Psychological variables were assessed using the Psychological Characteristics Related to Sport Performance Questionnaire.

H1: After total knee replacement, the target for daily living activities is higher than the patients who applied the hand and those who did not. H2: Patients with targeted daily living activities with total knee replacement begin to get used to it and begin earlier than those who do not.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, several authors (Lee, 2020; Sahu, 2020; Zhai & Du, 2020) have highlighted the various challenges faced by university students, as well as their negative effects on their mental health. A deterioration in their mental health was observed, particularly during lockdown, with very high levels of anxiety and depressive symptoms (Essadek & Rabeyron, 2020; Husky et al., 2020; Le Vigouroux et al., 2021; Odriozola-González et al., 2020). In addition, COVID-19 has brought about a digital revolution in higher education (Strielkowski, 2020). However, distance learning was not without consequences on student stress (IAU, 2020). The detrimental effects of distance education, in terms of stress and anxiety, could also have important consequences for students' learning and academic success. Our research proposes to evaluate effects of an intervention focused on stress and learning on mental health and learning strategies. This intervention will be proposed to students from University of Nimes. Its primary objective is to prevent psychological health alterations and to improve students' learning strategies. Three groups will be constituted: a group that will participate in an online program (online group), a group will participate in a hybrid program, i.e. with online content and face-to-face support (hybrid group) and a group that will not be receiving any interventions (control group). The investigators plan to include between 150 and 200 university students, between 40 and 70 in each group. The levels of mental health and learning strategies of the two experimental group (online and hybrid group) will be compared to a control group with the realization of pre and post intervention measures. Sociodemographic (e.g., level education) and situational variables (e.g., diagnostic of COVID-19) will be considered in the analyses.
The primary purpose is to test the short-term effects of the acute consumption of two novel beverages made from coffeeberries, the fruit of the coffee plant (Coffea arabica) benchmarked against caffeine on several aspects of cognitive performance. Preliminary studies suggest that flavanols and chlorogenic acids can enhance cognitive performance. It is unknown if drinks formulated with flavanols and chlorogenic acids (without high sugar or caffeine) improve cognition or mood to a similar extent as caffeine. Coffeeberry beverage comparisons will be made to a flavored positive control beverage containing caffeine and a flavored placebo beverage.
Chronic kidney failure (CRF) is an important health problem in the world and in our country. The use of hemodialysis as a treatment method has prolonged the life span of individuals with CRF; challenging and long treatment processes make the individual at risk for mental illnesses. It is an inevitable need to carry out psychosocial interventions to protect and improve the mental health of individuals, to ensure their adaptation to treatment processes, and to support them in coping with the difficulties they encounter. It is predicted that hope-focused motivational interviewing, which is a hope-enhancing intervention based on Snyder's Hope Theory, will be effective for individuals with low hope levels. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the protocol suitability of the research. This study is a single blind, randomized controlled trial. The universe of the research will consist of 44 individuals coming for treatment in the Hemodialysis Unit. The study will be carried out in the Hemodialysis Clinic between September 2021 and December 2022. Within the scope of the protocol, a preliminary application was made with two individuals. Research data will be obtained by using sociodemographic data form, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale, Continuous Hope Scale. In the study, it was planned to apply hope-focused motivational interviews to the experimental group as one-hour sessions per week with face-to-face interviews for 8 weeks, while no intervention was made to the control group. Each session has goals and assignments for goals. Within the scope of the study, a hope tree will be created for everyone together with the patients to be used in the evaluation process of the interview sessions. Through the hope tree, it is aimed for the individual to set goals and discover the obstacles and solutions in reaching these goals. At the end of 8 weeks, the final test will be applied to the experimental and control groups. Following the post-test application, follow-up is planned at the end of the first month. The pre-application of the eight-week application protocol created for the purpose was made with two individuals. As a result of the preliminary application, it was observed that the stress, anxiety and depression levels of the individuals decreased and their hope levels increased. As a result of the preliminary application, it was concluded that the steps of the prepared application protocol were suitable for the study in line with the purpose determined with this patient group, and the protocol was transferred to the application phase as it was. It is thought that the results obtained from the research will contribute to the literature.
Depression is a major public concern associated with profound distress, intense suffering, and impairment in social, professional and familial functioning. Among the numerous symptoms defining depression, fatigue and motivation are not only frequent but also highly associated with poor quality of life and resistance to conventional antidepressant. Recent data, mainly obtained in animals, suggest that these symptoms may be linked to inflammatory processes within the central nervous system. Yet access to the brain is too invasive for exploring this link in patients with psychiatric conditions. However, certain conditions in neurosurgery, such as aneurysm rupture, require external evacuation, over several days or weeks, of the fluid bathing the brain through a catheter directly inserted into it. Critically, these patients also exhibit extreme exhaustion and fluctuating motivation, allowing to investigate the involvement of neuroinflammation in lack of motivation and fatigue by carrying out repeated motivation assessments with short behavioral tests (around ten minutes), while performing an analysis of inflammation markers in the fluid evacuated from the brain. The identification of inflammatory mechanisms underlying lack of motivation and fatigue could lead to the development of treatments for both resistant depression and motivation deficits that largely hamper rehabilitation in neurosurgery.
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected global health systems and required healthcare professionals to show high performance. In this process, the mental health of intensive care nurses, who undertake the biggest burden in health systems, is negatively affected by the high working hours and patient care burden during the pandemic. When the literature is reviewed, pessimistic thinking, feeling hopeless and not enjoying life at more exacerbated levels can be observed in intensive care nurses. It is concluded that studies are needed to increase the motivation of intensive care nurses during the Covid-19 pandemic.In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the effect of motivational messages on optimism, hopelessness and life satisfaction of intensive care nurses during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The purpose of this study is to test the short-term effects of physical activity promotion messages designed for midlife adults. These messages are designed to provide information and motivation for physical activity by engaging key social processes, such as social comparison (i.e., self-evaluations relative to others).
