Filter by:In a randomized controlled trial we will research the effect of calorie restriction with early and mid-day time-restricted eating (TRE) and daily calorie restriction on weight loss and human health parameters. Participants will be divided into three groups: early time-restriction group (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM), mid-day restriction group (1:00 PM to 9:00 PM) and daily calorie restriction group (8:00 AM to 9:00 PM). Participants will follow dietary strategy with three planned meals and calorie restriction. Anthropometrical and biochemical parameters will be measured at baseline, after one month, two months and at after three months of intervention. Resting metabolic rate, ultrasound scan of abdomen and ultrasound scan of carotid arteries will be measured at baseline and after three months of intervention. In addition, stool samples will be also taken at baseline and after three months of intervention.
The goal of this single-blind randomized placebo-controlled trial is to test the effects of an oral ketone supplement on appetite, cognition, metabolism, and cardiovascular function in individuals with obesity and insulin resistance. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Does taking the ketone supplement reduce appetite and improve cognition? - How does the ketone supplement alter metabolism and cardiovascular function? Participants will be asked to consume a randomly assigned ketone ester supplement or a placebo and testing will be done to see how the supplement affects the following compared to a placebo: - appetite, - cognition, - metabolism - cardiovascular function Researchers will compare individuals with obesity and insulin resistance to individuals with normal weight and no insulin resistance to see if the ketone supplement affects groups differently.
The Super Rehab: Can we Achieve Coronary Artery Disease Regression? (a feasibility study) proposes to test the use of a novel lifestyle intervention (Super Rehab), in addition to standard care, for patients with both coronary artery disease and metabolic syndrome. This is a feasibility study that will test study processes, enable optimisation of the intervention and provide data for power calculations to enable design of pivotal trials of the clinical effectiveness of Super Rehab.

The purpose of this study is to assess the glycaemic controlling effects of BSG and bio-transformed BSG-containing biscuits in Singapore adults with MetS. The investigators hypothesized that consumption of BSG and bio-transformed BSG containing biscuit will improve glycaemic control.
Intermittent fasting is a method of restricting calories over a defined period of time and includes regimens such as whole-day fasting, alternate-day fasting, and time-restricted feeding. There is emerging evidence that intermittent fasting or energy restriction might be more beneficial than continuous energy restriction for some risk factors. The effect of intermittent fasting on risk factors associated with obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, however, is not clear. The European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) has yet to make any recommendations regarding the role of intermittent fasting in the management of diabetes. To inform the update of the EASD Clinical Practice Guidelines for Nutrition Therapy, tthe Diabetes and Nutrition Study Group (DNSG) of the EASD has commissioned a systematic review and network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials of the effect of different intermittent fasting strategies on established cardiometabolic risk factors. The findings generated by this proposed knowledge synthesis will shape guide current guidelines and improve health outcomes by educating healthcare providers and patients, and by guiding future research design.
This is a prospective randomized controlled multicentre non-inferiority trial. The aim of this study to evaluate digi-physical care compared to regular physical/in person care and investigate if digi-physical care can be an equal or even better treatment alternative among families with children or adolescents living with obesity in Sweden. The study participants will either get treatment as usual or treatment as usual combined with digi-physical solution. The digi-physical solution includes thar half of the session is digital and they get an app where they can self-monitoring health data, have an overview over they treatment plan and easy communicate with theirs caregivers.
