Filter by:Background: As the most common setting where youth access behavioral health services, the education sector frequently employs training and follow-up consultation as cornerstone implementation strategies to promote the uptake and use of evidence-based practices (EBPs), which are often insufficient to produce desired implementation outcomes (e.g., intervention fidelity) and changes in youth behavioral health outcomes (e.g., reduced externalizing behaviors). There is a need for theoretically-informed pre-implementation enhancement strategies (PIES) that increase the yield of training and follow-up consultation. Specifically, social-cognitive theory explicates principles to inform the design of strategy content and specific mechanisms of behavior change, such as intentions to implement (ITI), to target via a PIES that increase provider to more active implementation strategies. Methods: This triple-blind randomized controlled trial preliminarily examined the efficacy of a pragmatic PIES (SC-PIES) to improve the implementation of universal EBPs in the education sector. Participants were randomly assigned to the treatment (PIES) or active control condition (meeting with administrators). The investigators assessed participants' ITI, intervention fidelity, and youth behavioral health outcome before, immediately after, and six-week following treatment.
Post-/long-COVID occurs in patients with severe, moderate, and even mild courses. The symptomatology is multi-layered and complex. Patients with mild and moderate courses and especially younger patients are not optimally integrated into one of the existing care structures of COVID outpatient clinics and regular primary care. The diagnosis of post-/long-COVID and a consequent targeted treatment are currently partly not ensured. The variability of symptoms and the resulting complexity of diagnosis and treatment also pose a challenge in rural areas. The aim of the project is an evaluation of a program for low-threshold needs identification and treatment planning for a hybrid (personal supporting counselors and digital trainings) post-/long-COVID care. The contents of the present project include an innovative basis outside the existing standard care for the identification of affected persons. This will be done by means of a low-threshold online screening, which can also be carried out by the affected persons themselves. Furthermore, an intensive interdisciplinary assessment linked to medical rehabilitation resulting in a comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and cross-sectoral treatment plan is a core component of the current project. Finally, the implementation of digital trainings which are accompanied by a personal supporting counselor and augmented by continuously available trainings in the form of digital modules aim to provide general recommendation for the future support of post/long-COVID care. The current research project aims to evaluate the feasibility and the practicability of a comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and cross-sectoral treatment program consisting of a low-threshold online screening and holistic assessment for PACS. Furthermore, it aims to evaluate digital interventions and the use of so-called personal guides that may help to facilitate the recovery of PACS.
Trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based practice (EBP) for the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) among children and adolescents. In the current study, data were collected from youth receiving TF-CBT in specialized child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) and their caregivers in 2018-2021.
For the clinical component: Describe the young people hospitalised in residential care at the FSEF, in particular through vulnerability factors and their psychosocial repercussions (school level, repetition, intensity of symptoms, irritability, nervousness, substance use (cannabis, alcohol, tobacco), social relationships, family relationships, well-being, level of health literacy, learning disorders)) and to compare them with young people from the general school population. For the epidemiological aspect: To study the construct validity of the EnCLASS questions aiming to characterize handicap situations in the general school population in both a population in situation of psychic handicap and of somatic handicap.
Anhedonia is characterized by loss of interest or pleasure. The proposed pilot study would be the first to test an innovative, neuroscience-informed intervention in mothers reporting depressive symptoms and stress to enhance positive emotionality with the goal of preventing anhedonia and associated emotional disturbances in their children. This study will recruit dyads (mothers and their children) for the intervention.
Adults hospitalized in psychiatry have an increased frequency of somatic disorders, in particular various liver diseases (viral hepatitis, non-alcohol related liver steatosis, alcohol related liver disease). The evaluation of these liver disorders in psychiatric inpatients remains very little explored in France, contributing to the poor overall medical status of psychiatric patients. The LIVERSPIN study aims to estimate the prevalence rates of liver pathologies in psychiatric inpatients and to explore the factors associated with the existence of a liver pathology
A community-based peer support intervention for adolescent mothers aged 14-18 years in Harare, Zimbabwe was developed and tested in partnership with adolescent mothers, community health workers, and key community stakeholders. The intervention leveraged peer support, technology via WhatsApp Messenger, community health workers, peer educators and involvement of key community stakeholders to reduce prevalence of loneliness, depressive symptoms and common mental disorders, improve perceived social support, and develop coping, parenting, and communication skills to mitigate potential stressors and stigma of adolescent motherhood.
This study is to examine the effect of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy applied to patients in early psychosis patients on psychotic symptoms and functionality levels.
This study is a large population-based analysis in the United Kingdom (UK) using routine primary care data to investigate the risk of mental health conditions in children, adolescents and young adults with Inflammatory Bowel Disease, compared to those without Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The study will also compare the impacts on quality-of-life outcomes and use of healthcare services between people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease with and without mental health conditions.
There is a need for caregiver-initiated and -implemented non-pharmacological interventions directly to and for the person with dementia, including environmental assessment and modification, as first-line treatments for behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) in persons living with dementia (PLWD). Delivered via telehealth, Harmony at HOME (H@H) aims to train caregivers of persons with moderate to severe ADRD in the skills of assessing and modifying the home environment to promote "person-environment fit," a concept that posits that the ability to access features within a built environment (e.g. bathroom, stairs,) or that factors within the environment itself (lighting, noise level, temperature), especially when linked with individualized social support, contribute to or even shape behavior. In addition to the intervention, the first 10 caregiver participants to enroll will also be invited to participate in two focus groups that will be facilitated during and after the intervention. The first focus group focuses on experiences as a dementia caregiver in rural areas. The second focus group focuses on providing feedback regarding caregivers' perceptions, acceptability, and usefulness of the H@H intervention. These focus groups will be conducted as structured interviews with open-ended questions that encourage participants to share their experiences.
