Dutch Prediction of Psychosis Study

The Dutch Prediction of Psychosis Study (DUPS) is a prospective study of predictors of the transition to psychosis in help-seeking adolescents at high risk for developing a first psychotic episode. The aim of the project is supplemented by a systematic account of the pathways to care, the disabilities and needs and the therapeutic interventions that are currently used in this population. Multi-level assessment includes behavioral and cognitive variables as well as structural brain imaging and neurophysiological data. Subjects will be followed up at regular intervals during (at least) two years to monitor the development of their (psychotic) symptoms. This will allow us to analyze the predictive validity of the variables.

The Immune System and Psychiatric Disorders

To study this, the investigators register different measures for activity in the immune system on patients unselectedly admitted to an acute psychiatric ward. Changes Following Inpatient Child-oriented Family Treatment

Children receiving IFT (intensive family therapy) were assessed for symptom profile and global functioning before admission, 3 months after discharge and 1 year after discharge. Children were assessed by parents, children, their teachers and themselves. Parents were assessed by themselves at the same points in time through psychological self-report questionnaires. The study is intended to explore covariates to change in children as well as in parents during (pre-treatment) the treatment and follow-up periods.
