Filter by:For those chronic hepatitis C patients, who are interferon-ineligible or intolerant, there is a burning need for the development of pan-oral interferon-free regimen. The investigators examine the efficacy and safety of sofosbuvir, a NS5B nucleotide polymerase inhibitor and daclatasvir, an NS5A replication complex inhibitor in Chinese treatment-experienced cirrhosis patients with chronic G1b infection.
The primary objectives of this study are to evaluate the antiviral efficacy, safety, and tolerability of ledipasvir/sofosbuvir (LDV/SOF) fixed dose combination (FDC) with or without ribavirin (RBV) in adults with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the ability of the T-SPOT.CMV assay to determine immune competence against CMV infection in stem cell transplantation. To determine the utility of the T-SPOT.CMV assay used before transplantation to determine immune competence against subsequent CMV reactivation and to determine the utility of the T-SPOT.CMV assay used after transplantation to determine immune competence against subsequent CMV reactivation.
The primary purpose of this research is to assess the benefit of an "unaware intervention package" for identifying high risk persons who are unaware of their HIV infection status. This intervention package includes screening for acute HIV infection, contract sexual partner referral, and peer referral.
In the prevention of thrombosis related to catheter placement it is important to have a right position of the catheter tip. Therefor we want to assess which technique is the most successful in the placing of a PICC.
This study involves sampling bone marrow transplant patients, hospital workers and the patient room for microbes using swabs and other techniques. We send these samples to the laboratory, where they will use state-of-the art technology to identify and relate the microbes to each other. This study also involves putting copper, nickel, or titanium into some hospital rooms, and seeing whether these metals influences the growth of microbes. Some equipment in the hospital room, such as faucets and soap dispensers will be replaced by sensor-based (e.g. touchless) controls.
This study evaluates whether patients with Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) who are treated with fidaxomicin have less contamination of their skin and surrounding environment with spores of C. difficile than patients treated with other drugs (metronidazole or vancomycin)
The primary objectives of this study are to determine the antiviral efficacy, safety, and tolerability of ledipasvir/sofosbuvir (LDV/SOF) fixed-dose combination (FDC) in adults with acute genotype 1 or 4 hepatitis C virus (HCV) and chronic human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-1 co-infection.
The purpose of the study is to assess the efficacy of Alginate oligosaccharide (OligoG) dry powder for inhalation in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients with a Burkholderia spp. infection.
This pilot clinical trial study will assess the inflammatory response of brain tumors or other central nervous system conditions in pediatric and adult patients using ferumoxytol-enhanced MRI. Imaging features will be correlated with the number of inflammatory cells (macrophages) at histopathology. Determining the extent of inflammation associated with pathologies in the central nervous system may be helpful for diagnostic and prognostic purposes as well as monitoring treatment response of current and future immunotherapies.
