The aim of this study is to assesses prevalence of symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and panic disorder among exposed inhabitants and examine the effect of family therapy on mental health as part of a public health emergency response and rapid assessment.

Internet-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Tic Disorder and Tourette's Disorder: a Feasibility Trial

Tic disorders, including Tourette's Disorder (TD) and Chronic Motor or Vocal Tic Disorder (CTD), are neurodevelopmental motor disorders characterised by motor and/or vocal tics. TD/CTD are impairing conditions with onset during childhood that often persist into adulthood. Behaviour therapy (BT) is an effective treatment for TD/CTD and is recommended as a first-line intervention in both in children and in adults. However, most adults with TD/CTD do not have access to BT due to a lack of trained professionals and geographical barriers. The objective of the study is to adapt and extend existing face-to-face BT treatment protocols for adults with TD/CTD to an internet-delivered format and evaluate its feasibility and preliminary efficacy. A total of 30 adult TD/CTD adult patients deemed eligible for the study through the recruitment process involving both psychologist and physician assessment will be enrolled in the project. The 8-modues treatment program, mainly based on exposure with response prevention with addition of other techniques will be made available for the participants in a secure treatment platform. The participants will keep in touch with a therapist using two-ways written communication in the same platform. The therapist's role will be to introduce the treatment and its modules, give feedback on the homework assignments and open the new modules as well as monitor the participants psychiatric symptoms and activity in the plattform. The measures will include tic severity secifically and disease severity in general, anxiety and depression symptoms, quality of life, treatment credibility and therapeutic alliance. The measures will be administrated at baseline, min- and post-tretment, as well at 3 and 12 months follow-up. Upon completion, this project will be the first crucial step towards the implementation of internet-delivered behaviour therapy (I-BT) for adults with TD/CTD in regular health care.

Safety and Efficacy of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Long COVID Syndrome

Long COVID Syndrome (Long COVID), Post Acute COVID-19 Syndrome (PACS) or Post COVID-19 Syndrome (PCS) is defined as 'signs and symptoms that develop during or following an infection consistent with COVID-19, continue for more than 12 weeks and are not explained by an alternative diagnosis'. 1 in 10 infected individuals may suffer persistent symptoms, and we are facing an emerging problem that will severely affect individuals, health care systems and society for years to come. We explore hyperbaric oxygen administered in a randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial as a potential treatment for patients suffering from Long COVID. The overall hypothesis to be evaluated is that hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) alleviates symptoms associated with Long COVID.

Implementation, Efficacy and Costs of Inpatient Equivalent Home-Treatment in German Mental Health Care

The "inpatient-equivalent home treatment"(IEHT) according to §115d SGB-V is a particular version of the internationally well-known and evidence-based Home Treatment. As a complex intervention, IEHT requires a multi-method evaluation on different levels in the German context. The AKtiV study that is financed by the Innovation Fund of the Federal Joint Committee (proposal ID: VSF2_2019-108) meets this request. In this quasi-experimental study with a propensity score-matched control group, we assess and combine quantitative and qualitative data. Outcome parameters include classical clinical ones such as hospital readmission rates, mental state, and recovery outcomes. In addition, it evaluates issues concerning the right target population, treatment processes, implementation strategies, and factors associated with positive outcomes. The study takes into account the perspective of patients, relatives, staff as well as decision makers in politics and administration. Therefore, we expect the results to be relevant for a broad audience and to contribute to further refinement and adaption of the model.

Aiming at improving clinical practice regarding the use of lisdexamfetamine for the treatment of ADHD in children, the investigators want to retrospectively map the clinical use of lisdexamfetamine at a specialised outpatient clinic located at Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark treating children aged 7-13 with Attention Deficit Disorders in the period from 2013 to 2019. The investigators will describe the changes in prescription practice in the period, reported side effects and reasons for selecting and discontinuing treatment with lisdexamfetamine.

This purpose of this study is to use the existing infrastructure and therapeutic relationships developed by Early Intervention, a national system of child development programs, to make an evidence-based intervention for parents with substance use disorder, Mothering from the Inside Out, more readily accessible to postpartum women with substance use disorder. This study will assess the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary outcomes of the intervention in a pilot randomized controlled trial. We will also identify key implementation domains that impact successful delivery. We hypothesize that the intervention will be feasible and acceptable to the study participants.

Leveraging Social Media to Identify and Connect Teens With Eating Disorders to a Mobile Guided Self-Help Mobile Intervention

Clinical or subclinical eating disorders (EDs) impact 10% of individuals in their lifetime and are marked by significant functional impairment, early mortality, chronicity, and emotional distress. ED symptoms often emerge in adolescence, with peak onset age in the teenage years. Early recognition and treatment of these devastating illnesses are needed to prevent long-term consequences and a chronic course. Most (80%) individuals with EDs, including teens with EDs (TwEDs), do not receive treatment. Due to major barriers to access and to the delivery of treatment for TwEDs, there is a need for a new model of service delivery that can identify and help TwEDs. We demonstrated our ability to harness social media to identify and efficiently recruit large numbers of TwEDs. Our team has successfully developed a guided self-help cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)-based mobile app for previous studies and have adapted this app to address the specific needs of TwEDs. In proposed study, we will test this updated mHealth intervention, which includes simplified language and tailored content relevant to adolescent issues and a social networking feature designed to facilitate group exchanges. This mHealth intervention will be investigated among 161 TwEDs recruited from Instagram/Facebook to test preliminary efficacy and feasibility of this mHealth intervention to improved eating disorder symptoms among TwEDs not currently engaged in treatment. We will also garnering feedback via a mixed methods approach on the efficiency, technical effectiveness, and satisfaction with mHealth intervention content and features. Participants will be randomized to one of 3 study arms, including a control group (self-help version of the app), a group with access to the coached mobile app only, and a group with access to the coached mobile app plus social networking feature. We hypothesized that those with access to the coached mobile app intervention will have improved ED outcomes in comparison to the control group, and that those with access to the additional social networking feature will have the most improvement in ED symptoms out of all three groups.

Insomnia is common with co-morbid somatic disease, e.g. rheumatic disease, cancer, heart and lung disease or gastrointestinal disorders. Pain, breathing difficulties and other symptoms of disease can worsen sleep problems and cause insomnia. In turn, insomnia may aggravate pain, fatigue and reduce quality of life in patients with somatic disorders. This project aims to evaluate a course offered to patients with insomnia and somatic disease at Diakonhjemmet Hospital. The course is based on cognitive behavioral therapy, a documented treatment for insomnia.
