Filter by:The morbidity rate of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is increasing year by year. It is predicted to be the third leading cause of death worldwide in 2030. People with COPD have a high risk of needing a ventilator due to the decline of lung function, the increase of secretions, the dysfunction of airway clearance, and the obstruction and loss of alveolar elasticity.
Patients who have undergone cardiac ablation will be randomized and blinded to one of two groups; one group will receive dronedarone while the other group will receive a placebo. The incidence of atrial fibrillation recurrence, as well as atrial fibrosis progression, will be analyzed between the two trial groups.
The purpose of this study is to test the effects, of the research study drug Telomelysin (OBP-301) in combination with pembrolizumab in subjects with inoperable, recurrent, or progressive squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. Telomelysin is an investigational treatment, while pembrolizumab and SBRT are approved standard treatments. The combination of these three treatments is also considered investigational.
This dose-escalating phase I trial assesses for the first time the safety, the side effects and the harmlessness, as well as the therapeutical benefit of the new study drug UniCAR02-T-pPSMA in patients with progressive disease after standard systemic therapy in castration-resistant prostate cancers with positive PSMA marker. The UniCAR02-T-pPSMA drug is a combination of a cellular component (UniCAR02-T) with a recombinant antibody derivative (TMpPSMA) which together forms the active drug.
The TRANSLATE study aims to better understand why tumors become resistant to standard anti-cancer therapies. New tumor biopsy and blood samples are collected after disease progression on standard-of-care anti-cancer treatment and compared to the initial (archival) tumor biopsy sample taken from the same patient. Annotated reports of results from clinical Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) gene panel tests of both tumor and blood are sent directly from the testing lab to the study physician for discussion with the patient during the study. Patients may participate in interventional treatment clinical trials at the same time as participating in the TRANSLATE study. Primary data will be publicly available after the study to support further research.
This study will test whether daily use of azithromycin will reduce the rate of exacerbations and improve lung ventilation and perfusion assessed by XE-MRI. The sensitivity of XE-MRI to detect COPD progression will be compared with standard clinical assessment measures including standard lung function tests, 6 minute walk test, and patient reported quality of life.
The primary objective is to evaluate the long-term safety and tolerability of BIIB078 in participants with chromosome 9 open reading frame 72-amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (C9ORF72-ALS). The secondary objective is to evaluate the pharmacokinectic (PK) of BIIB078 in participants with C9ORF72-ALS.
Endocrine therapy is the initial treatment for most hormone receptor positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 negative (HER2-) breast cancers. This study will evaluate the use of venetoclax in combination with capecitabine in adult participants with HR+, HER2-, metastatic breast cancer (MBC) who had disease progression following treatment that included a cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 (CDK4/6) inhibitor. Venetoclax is an investigational drug being developed for the treatment of breast cancer. This study is open-label meaning both the participants and study doctors will know what treatment is being given. The study includes two phases: dose escalation and dose expansion. In dose escalation, participants will receive various doses of venetoclax in combination with capecitabine. In dose expansion, participants will receive the recommended dose of venetoclax determined during dose escalation in combination with capecitabine. Adult participants with locally advanced or MBC that is not amenable to curative therapy will be enrolled. Around 42 participants will be enrolled at approximately 20 sites worldwide. Venetoclax and capecitabine will be administered on a 21-day cycle. During dose escalation, participants will take various doses of venetoclax as a tablet by mouth once a day and capecitabine as a tablet by mouth twice per day on days 1 - 14 of each cycle for approximately 30 weeks. During dose expansion, participants will take venetoclax at the dose identified during dose escalation as a tablet by mouth once a day and capecitabine as a tablet by mouth twice per day on days 1 - 14 of each cycle for approximately 30 weeks. There may be a higher burden for participants in this trial compared to standard of care. Participants will attend weekly visits during the course of the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, blood tests, and evaluating for side effects.
This study evaluates the efficacy and safety of umbralisib and ublituximab (U2) as salvage therapy in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) who have progressed either on a BTK inhibitor (BTKi) or BCL-2 inhibitor. The study will evaluate this combination in two parallel cohorts and subjects will be assigned based on which class of novel agent-containing regimen was used prior. Cohort A will consist of patients who progress after BTKi containing regimens and Cohort B will consist of patients who progress after a BCL-2 containing regimen. Subjects who progress on a regimen containing both a BTKi and a BCL-2 inhibitor, will be enrolled in cohort B. Each cohort will be evaluated independently of each other.
To evaluate the benefit of SAbR for oligo-progressive metastatic urothelial cancer.
