Filter by:This study will compare three methods of counseling to determine which is most effective at motivating participants to adopt healthy lifestyle habits. The three methods are: individual counseling, working in groups with a health educator, and receiving advice from a physician. The health goals for subjects in this study are: 1) increase physical activity to 30 minutes each day, 2) reduce fat intake to less than 30% of total calories, 3) increase consumption of fruits and vegetables to at least 5 servings each day, and 4) reduce percentage of body fat to a healthy level.
This study will investigate the effects of inhaled albuterol & fluticasone on one dose of TI Inhalation Powder. A total of 12 eligible subjects will be enrolled.
This study will compare the rate and extent of absorption of TI Inhalation Powder in subjects with asthma and subjects with normal lung function. 24 eligible subjects will be enrolled into the treatment phase of the trial.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness and safety of 12 weeks of treatment with R256918 in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who are taking metformin. The primary measure of effectiveness is the change in concentration of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) during treatment. Glycated hemoglobin is a substance in red blood cells that is formed when blood sugar (glucose) attaches to hemoglobin and is a measure of diabetic status. Additional measures include fasting glucose, and lipid levels, and body weight. Safety assessments performed during the trial include laboratory tests, vital sign measurements, and adverse event reporting.
Many patients with type 2 diabetes also have conditions that are treated with diuretics. The patients may also be treated with GSK189075 for their diabetes. This study is planned to assess possible effects of administering GSK189075 in combination with two frequently used diuretics.
