Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this randomised control type of study is to examine the effects of Video Diabetes Training given to individuals with Type 2 Diabetes through smartphones on self-care and metabolic control. The Hypotheses of the Study: H1: Video Diabetes Training given to individuals with Type 2 Diabetes through smartphones has a positive impact on individuals' self-care. H2: Video Diabetes Training given to individuals with Type 2 Diabetes through smartphones has a positive impact on individuals' metabolic control variables. Participants will answer the data collection tools in the first and second interviews and metabolic control variables will be record. Diabetes training videos will sent to the Training Group through smartphones after the first meeting as two episodes a week. Video Diabetes Training given to training group will be examine the effects of on self-care and metabolic control.

NCT ID: NCT06160063 Completed - Diabetes Clinical Trials

Diabetes Acute Complications and Health Literacy in Children

Start date: January 16, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In this study, in which education on acute complications of type 1 diabetes is planned with board games based on Bandura's social learning theory, children can indirectly learn common points that they may hear about acute complications of diabetes by watching board games of other group members. In line with this theory, children's knowledge needs regarding acute complications of diabetes can be determined, and interventions can be planned to meet the determined needs of children. Thus, the level of knowledge of diabetes health literacy for acute complications of diabetes can be increased. This study will be carried out in a randomized controlled manner to evaluate the effect of educational play in children on acute complications of diabetes and health literacy.

Barley Beta-glucan, Glycemic Control, and Appetite

Start date: October 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Novel barley varieties high in the soluble fiber β-glucan have the capacity to improve population health through improving glycemic control. Sweetened and unsweetened wholegrain barley foods were tested in a randomized, controlled, crossover human clinical trial to assess impact on postprandial appetite and food intake.

NCT ID: NCT06145360 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Evaluating the Efficacy and Safety of Empagliflozin Addition to Insulin and Oral Antidiabetic Medication (OAD) Regimen in Poorly Controlled Type 2 Diabetes and Obese Patient

Start date: December 1, 2023
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The primary aim of this study is to assess the impact of incorporating Empagliflozin, an oral sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, into the existing therapeutic regimen of Insulin+Metformin+Dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4) inhibitors in poorly controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients. The study seeks to evaluate its effect on achieving glycemic goals in this patient population.

Chemerin, Fetuin-A, IL-34 and IL-13 Levels in Diabetic Periodontitis Patients

Start date: October 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The present study aimed to assess the effect of non-surgical periodontal treatment on serum and salivary chemerin, fetuin-A, IL-34 and IL-13 levels in periodontitis with and without diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2. 22 non-periodontitis, 22 non-periodontitis with DM, 22 Stage III/IV Grade C periodontitis, 22 tage III/IV Grade C periodontitis with well-controlled DM and 22 tage III/IV Grade C periodontitis with poorly-controlled DM patients were enrolled. At baseline, serum and saliva samples were collected, and the whole mouth clinical periodontal parameters were recorded from all subjects. Periodontitis patients received non-surgical periodontal therapy. Clinical parameters were re-measured, and samples were re-collected 1 and 3 months after therapy from periodontitis patients. Serum and salivary protein levels were analyzed by ELISA. Data were analyzed using appropriate statistical tests.

NCT ID: NCT06129448 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 1

Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha Levels and Cardiac Functions in Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus

Start date: December 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about the effect of type 1 diabetes mellitus on cardiac functions and evaluate the correlation of the dysfunction with the tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) an inflammation-related factor. The study population will be the patients with the diagnosis of type 1 diabetes mellitus and the healthy children es the control group. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Is diabetes affecting the systolic and diastolic cardiac functions - Is diabetes affecting the left and the right ventricles equally? - Does diabetes status, as assessed by HbA1c, have an impact on the occurrence of cardiac dysfunction? - Is TNF-α can be a marker for early diagnosis of cardiac dysfunction? Diabetic patients will be examined by both a pediatric endocrinologist and a pediatric cardiologist. Transthoracic echocardiography will be performed and TNF-α will be evaluated for both the diabetic patients and the healthy children.
