View clinical trials related to Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2.
Filter by:This study in healthy volunteers aims to demonstrate similar PK and PD properties of the new human biphasic insulin, Julphar Insulin 30/70 and an already approved reference insulin, Huminsulin® Profil III. All participants will receive both study treatments on two separate dosing days.
Type 2 diabetes is a chronic disease that affects approximately 13% of Portuguese population and is associated with a high cardiovascular mortality by coronary artery disease and cerebrovascular disease and with a serious decline on well-being. Lifestyle changes are widely recommended to the control of type 2 diabetes and its complications. This study aims to analyse the effects of different community-based lifestyle programs (exercise or exercise plus dietary intervention) on health and well-being in patients with type 2 diabetes.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of a low carbohydrate diet on increasing dietary adherence and improving cardiometabolic risk factors among adults with spinal cord injury (SCI). Seventy overweight/obese adults with SCI will be randomized to one of two groups: 1) a reduced carbohydrate diet or 2): a "standard" diet (STD). Participants will take part in a 6-month behavioral lifestyle intervention implemented through a novel eHealth platform specially designed for individuals with SCI.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the ingestion of the common food additive carrageenan contributes to insulin resistance and thus to the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes in humans.
The general aim of this study is to define the response to hypoxic challenge in patients with diabetes. The investigation will provide response for different questions that are central for explaining the development of complications in diabetes - have patients with diabetes an impaired reaction to adapt to hypoxia - what consequence has hypoxia challenge on respiratory and on cardiovascular regulation in patients with diabetes - what consequence has diabetes on the angiogenetic response to hypoxia
Purpose of Study (The Effect of Viscous Fiber on Glycemic Control (VF & GC) in Individuals with Diabetes Mellitus. According to the World Health Organization, about 347 million individuals are living with diabetes. (http://www.who.int/features/factfiles/diabetes/facts/en/, accessed on Nov. 23, 2015). Over the last decades, dietary fibers, namely dietary viscous fibers, have emerged as a nutrition component that may improve the postprandial glycemic response and hence aid in long term diabetes management. It is believed that supplementation with viscous fibers can control blood glucose by increasing viscosity of the gastric digesta, hence delaying gastric emptying and retarding entry of glucose into the bloodstream to result in a diminished postprandial rise in blood glucose. (Chutkan et al., 2012). Currently, the evidence of the relationship between viscous fibers and diabetes is mixed. The systematic review method depends on combining data from many small studies in order to get a pooled estimate of the true effect. The purpose of this study is to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating the fasting glycemic and insulinemic effect of viscous fiber supplementation. We hope the findings of this study will play a key role in developing the nutritional guidelines for individuals with diabetes mellitus.
The study will be conducted in crossover trial, with two 72-hour hospitalization separated by a period Wash-out of at least one week. Each hospitalization is a period of treatment. According to randomization, patients will be provided with either Diabeloop system or the usual system. In both treatment periods: - patients in a situation of sedentarity or physical activity, will be equipped with ActiGraph (measuring motricity) and a ActiHeart ( measuring heart rate) - meals and physical activities will be similar in both periods - the same blood glucose meter will be used throughout the duration of the study. - the capillary blood glucose will be performed : before bolus and 2 hours after a meal, before exercise, in case of hypo or hyper-glycemic episodes and when the patient and / or investigator deem it necessary.
Periodontal Diseases are considered the sixth complication of Diabetes Mellitus (DM). This close relationship between both diseases is characterized by mutual influence. The presence of DM might impair prognosis of diverse dental treatments due to its inflammatory nature, negative influence on wound healing, on bone biology, and the establishment of infections. Consequently, knowledge of new dental therapies and the biology of dental treatments for chronic periodontitis in diabetic patients can enhance quality of life and make these treatments more adequate for this common profile of patients.
This trial is conducted in Europe. The aim of this trial is to compare Injections with the Medical Device DV3316 Pen-injector versus FlexPen®.
This study is a randomized, open-label, single dose, 2-way crossover study to compare the pharmacokinetic characteristics of CKD-395 0.25/750 mg in healthy male volunteers.
