Awareness of Osteoporosis in Diabetes Mellitus Patients

Osteoporosis is a condition that describes compromised skeletal microarchitecture in general, with clinical signs of decreased bone mineral density. Diabetes mellitus patients are at increased risk for developing osteoporosis. Identifying whether multiple sclerosis patients have information and awareness about this disease is crucial. This study is aimed to investigate awareness and knowledge of osteoporosis in diabetes mellitus patients.

Evaluation of the Efficacy and Safety of DBL-4pen Mobile Application in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes

This study conducted in 40 adults living with type 2 diabetes is an interventional single-arm open-label before/after multicentric national study conducted as a clinical investigation according to the law EU 2017/745 art. 62. After a 14-day baseline period during which the patient will use a Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) and his current therapy (multiple daily injection), the patient will start a 42-day treatment period during which he will use the DBL-4pen application and two Mallya connected caps, in addition to the Dexcom G6 CGM. An optional 6-week extension period with treatment will be proposed to patients agreeing to pursue the use of DBL-4pen application. The main objective is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the DBL-4pen system for 6 weeks in patients with type 2 diabetes. Data related to efficacy of DBL-4pen, global safety of DBL-4pen, compliance with recommended insulin injections, satisfaction with the system and quality of life will be collected. The study is completed when all patients have their "end of study" file completed in the electronic Case Report Form (eCRF).

DiEtary Sodium Intake Effects on Ertugliflozin-induced Changes in GFR, reNal Oxygenation and Systemic Hemodynamics: the DESIGN Study

SGLT2 inhibitors such as ertugliflozin improve blood pressure and kidney outcomes in people living with diabetes through incompletely understood mechanisms, however, not all patients treated with SGLT2 inhibition have improved outcomes. Changes in kidney sodium handling is among the mechanisms by which SGLT2 inhibition may reduce blood pressure and drive beneficial kidney outcomes. This process is heavily dependent on daily sodium intake by patients receiving SGLT2 inhibitor treatment. In this study, the effect of daily sodium intake on SGLT2-inhibitor induced physiological effect is studied, including blood pressure regulation and kidney physiology.

Impact of Telehealth Education in Diabetes Patients

The goal of this clinical trial is to to evaluate the effectiveness of continuity of in-hospital care with the application of a structured telemonitoring protocol in self-care activities in patients with type 1 or type 2 Diabetes Mellitus or those who have an HbA1C level greater than or equal to 6.5% during hospitalization, regardless of the reason for hospitalization. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: • Is telehealth education effective for improving self-care for type 1 or type 2 Diabetes Mellitus or those with an HbA1C level greater than or equal to 6.5% during hospitalization will be included, regardless of the reason for hospitalization? Participants will answer the Diabetes Self-Care Activity Questionnaire Researchers will compare patients in the intervention group, in addition to the hospital's standard hospital guidance, will receive an educational approach through structured telemonitoring, reinforcing and validating the points addressed in the face-to-face guidance, which are considered the foundations of self-care.

Although sleep is considered a resting period, it is also a period when the brain work to encode and consolidate memories into more stable representations for long term recall . Unfortunately, pediatric sleep disorders affect 25 - 40% of youth and several studies showed that children with chronic illness experience more problems with initiating and maintaining sleep than their non- chronically ill children . Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) affects the quality of sleep in children and adolescents as well as their caregivers. Sleep disturbances in patients with T1DM may negatively impact their ability to manage their diabetes .

Nurse-led Medication Self-management Intervention in the Improvement of Medication Adherence

Back ground & Aims Adult patients suffering from multimorbidity are at high risk of medication non-adherence. It has been well established that self-management support is an effective strategy to enhance medication adherence for patients with chronic conditions. However, little is known about the effect of the medication self-management intervention in Adult patients with multimorbidity. The aim of this study to evaluate the effectiveness of a nurse-led medication self-management intervention in improving medication adherence and health outcomes in adult patients with multimorbidity. Methods This study is a single centre, single-blind, two-arm randomised controlled trial. Adult patients with multi-morbidity will be recruited from NCCCR Qatar. A total of 100 participants will be randomly allocated to receive standard care or standard care plus the medication self-management intervention. The intervention will be delivered by clinical nurse specialists. The 6-week intervention includes three face-to-face education sessions (2st week, 4rd week and 6th week) and two weekly (8th week and 10 week) follow-up phone calls. Participants in the control group continue to receive all respects of standard care offered by healthcare providers, including chronic disease management, drug prescription, referral to hospital specialists, health education and consultations regarding patients' diseases and treatments during centre visits. Outcome The primary outcome is medication adherence as measured by the 8-item Medication Adherence Report Scale. Secondary outcomes include medication self-management capacity (medication knowledge, medication beliefs, and medication self-efficacy), treatment experiences (medication treatment satisfaction and treatment burden). All outcomes will be measured at baseline, immediately post-intervention (7th week), and at 3-month post-intervention.
