Filter by:The study is designed as non interventional to collect data on the effectiveness of acarbose and metformin monotherapy, respectively, in terms of change from baseline in post prandial blood glucose level at the end of 16 weeks in drug-naïve type 2 diabetic patients within each carbohydrates consumption subgroup under real-life treatment condition in large sample of type-2 diabetes patients in India. The study will begin after the study approval by ethics committee.All drug naïve patients in whom decision to administer acarbose or metformin monotherapy for type 2 diabetes management has been made will be included in study after taking the informed consent.Patients will be observed for up to 16 weeks (2 weeks).The study involves general examination of patients, collection of data like history of disease, concomitant medication, drug dose , 24 hr dietary recall etc. The study is planned to enroll 12250 subjects from multiple study centers spread across India. The study data will be analyzed with appropriate statistical methods.

This study will compare blood collection from the forearm using an investigational device, TAP20-C to blood collection from the finger tip. The blood collected from the forearm and from the fingertip will then be analyzed for glucose, hemoglobin and hemoglobin A1c.
The study is designed as non interventional to collect data on the safety especially, severe hypoglycemia or documented symptomatic hypoglycemic episodes and effectiveness of acarbose/metformin fixed-dose combination under real-life treatment condition in large sample of type-2 diabetes patients in India. The study objective is to evaluate severe hypoglycemia or documented symptomatic or asymptomatic hypoglycemic events reported as adverse events. The study will begin after the study approval by ethics committee. All patients with type 2 diabetes on acarbose or metformin monotherapy and prescribed Glucobay M will be included in study after taking the informed consent. Patients will be observed for up to 24 weeks (2 weeks).The study involves general examination of patients, collection of data like history of disease, concomitant medication, drug dose etc. The study is planned to enroll 10000 subjects from multiple study centers spread across India. The study data will be analyzed with appropriate statistical methods.
In the proposed study, the investigators examine in older adults with Type 2 diabetes the impact of beginning insulin therapy on the orthostatic drop in blood pressure as well as the response of arterial blood pressure and Doppler measures of cerebral blood flow during upright tilt. The investigators hypothesize that in older adults with Type 2 diabetes, the cardiovascular effects of insulin would precipitate or worsen orthostatic intolerance not present at baseline.
This study will compare the safety, effectiveness, and cost of two different types of long-acting insulin.

This is a non-randomized, non-interventional pilot observational study designed to follow high-risk patients through their surgical and hospital stay. The investigators will collect 2 4ml vial's of blood (total of 8ml) prior to surgery to assess CV biomarkers - inflammatory, metabolic, hypercoagulable and platelet.
This study will involve an investigational device, the Seventh Sense Biosystems TAP20-C. The TAP20-C device collects small amounts of blood from the forearm which can then be used for blood testing. The study will also involve collecting blood by fingerstick which is a common way of collecting blood. The SAFE-T-FILL Capillary Blood Collection system and the Terumo Capiject 1.5 mm Blade Safety Lancet will be used for this. The study will compare the concentrations of glucose, hemoglobin, and HbA1C in blood samples collected with the two different blood collection methods. Additional information will be collected about how the TAP20-C device performs.
