Illinois Workplace Wellness Study

Workplace wellness programs have become a $6 billion industry and are widely touted as a way to improve employee well-being, reduce health care costs by promoting prevention, and increase workplace productivity. Yet, there is little rigorous evidence available to support these claims, partly because the voluntary nature of these programs means that participants may differ from nonparticipants for reasons unrelated to the causal effects of the wellness program. The investigators will implement a randomized control trial to identify the effects of incentives on wellness program participation, produce causal estimates of the effect of wellness programs on health outcomes, determine what kinds of employees benefit from wellness programs the most, and test for the presence of peer effects in wellness participation.

DCreg in Living Donor Liver Transplantation

Phase I/II, single center, prospective, open-label, non-controlled, non-randomized, interventional, cohort study in which low risk living donor liver transplant (LDLT) recipients will receive a single infusion of donor-derived DCreg 1 week prior to transplantation. All patients will be maintained on MPA and Tacrolimus (Tac) for the 1st 6 months after transplantation. At that time point, recipients meeting specific criteria will be slowly weaned off MPA per standard of care over a period of 6 months. Participants will then be evaluated for TAC weaning at 1 yr after transplantation. Those who meet specific criteria be weaned off Tac over 6 months . Successfully weaned participants who remain rejection-free will undergo 3 years of follow-up after the last dose of immunosuppression.

A Trial of Epigenetic Priming in Patients With Newly Diagnosed Acute Myeloid Leukemia

The overall aim of this study is to determine if epigenetic priming with a DNA methyltransferase inhibitor (DMTi) prior to chemotherapy blocks is tolerable and carries evidence of a clinical efficacy signal as determined by minimal residual disease (MRD), event-free survival (EFS), and overall survival (OS). Tolerability for each of the agents, as well as total reduction in DNA methylation and outcome assessments will be done to simultaneously obtain preliminary biological and clinical data for each DMTi in parallel. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: - Evaluate the tolerability of five days of epigenetic priming with azacitidine and decitabine as a single agent DMTi prior to standard AML chemotherapy blocks. - Evaluate the change in genome-wide methylation burden induced by five days of epigenetic priming and the association of post-priming genome-wide methylation burden with event-free survival among pediatric AML patients. SECONDARY OBJECTIVES - Describe minimal residual disease levels following Induction I chemotherapy in patients that receive DMTi. - Estimate the event-free survival and overall survival of patients receiving a DMTi prior to chemotherapy courses.

The purpose of this study is to study if giving radiation to a brain tumor (a procedure called radiosurgery) before neurosurgery (surgery to remove the tumor) will help to keep brain tissue healthy, while possibly eliminating the need to return for radiation once a patient has healed from neurosurgery. This study will also seek the best radiation dose on a brain tumor based on how well the radiation therapy works and asses the side-effects.

This study aims to continue analyzing aspects of the performance of salivary hormone competitive immunoassays for monitoring patient's reproductive hormone profiles in the reproductive cycle. Hormone levels will be monitored during treatment cycles for infertility.

Selumetinib and Olaparib in Solid Tumors

This study has 2 phases: Phase 1 (dose escalation) and Phase 2 (dose expansion). The goal of Phase 1 of this clinical research study is to find the highest tolerable dose combination of selumetinib and olaparib that can be given to patients who have solid tumors that are advanced or recurrent (has returned after treatment). The goal of Phase 2 is to learn if the highest tolerable dose combination found in Phase 1 can help to control advanced or recurrent solid tumors. The safety of the study drug combination will also be studied in both parts. This is an investigational study. Selumetinib is not FDA approved or commercially available. It is currently being used for research purposes only. Olaparib is FDA approved and commercially available for the treatment of ovarian cancer that has a certain type of genetic mutation (change). It is considered investigational to use selumetinib in combination with olaparib to treat advanced or recurrent cancer. The study doctor can explain how the study drugs are designed to work. Up to 90 participants will be enrolled in this study. All will take part at MD Anderson.
