The purpose of this study is to determine if there is a difference in neonatal outcomes with delayed umbilical cord clamping at 30 versus 60 seconds. Our primary outcome will be intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) (bleeding in the brain) in these infants.
This clinical trial studies giving radiation therapy to the liver in patients with uveal (eye) melanoma who have a specific chromosome loss (monosomy 3) or are DecisionDx Class 2 and therefore more likely to have their disease spread from the eye to the liver. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Early radiation to the liver may reduce the development of tumors in the liver and the overall risk of disease recurrence.
This study planned to assess the effect on the reduction in rate of severe asthma exacerbations of different dose levels of QGE031 in asthma patients that are inadequately controlled with inhaled steroid plus beta-2 agonist medication with or without oral steroid. However, this study was terminated due to the efficacy results from an interim analysis (at the end of treatment epoch) of the Phase II study CQGE031B2201 (NCT01716754). Planned data analyses were not performed for this study due to the early termination and the very limited dataset (only 10 participants received study medication of the 440 participants planned).
Sickle cell disease (SCD), specifically hemoglobin SC disease (HbSC), is a subtype of sickle cell disease with typically higher hemoglobin and milder or later disease complications. Sickle cell disease is a disorder in which red blood cells (RBCs) are abnormally shaped. This can result in painful episodes, serious infections, and damage to body organs. One medication used to treat sickle cell disease is hydroxyurea. Hydroxyurea therapy offers significant benefits for infants, children, and adolescents with sickle cell anemia. These include a reduction in the frequency of pain crises and acute chest syndrome (inflammation of the lungs). Hydroxyurea has been given to many HbSC patients but HbSC patients were not included in the large clinical trials used to test hydroxyurea in SCD, so less is known about how HbSC patients respond to hydroxyurea. The purpose of this research study is to see if hydroxyurea, a medication given to many children with the most common type of sickle cell, those who are homozygous for the sickle mutation (HbSS), helps children who have HbSC. The investigators will see if it helps by giving a questionaire when the medication is started, and then every two months at a clinic visit. The questionaire, called the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQLâ„¢) Sickle Cell Disease Module version 3.0, measures quality of life. The investigators will also see how hydroxyurea changes laboratory test numbers, and blood thickness.

This pilot clinical trial studies how well ganetespib works before surgery in treating patients with stage I-IVA squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck that can be removed by surgery. Ganetespib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Studying samples of blood and tissue in the laboratory from patients receiving ganetespib may help doctors learn more about the effects of ganetespib on cells. It may also help doctors understand how well patients respond to treatment.
This is a blinded randomized controlled trial to assess the effectiveness of manual therapy to improve hip abduction strength in patients with acute anterior knee pain. The primary objective of this study is to see if manual therapy to the gluteus medius can significantly alter within-session measurements of hip abductor strength in patients with anterior knee pain. The secondary objective of this study is to see if manual therapy to the gluteus medius can significantly alter within session pain in patients with anterior knee pain.
