There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The primary objective of this study will be to evaluate the drug-drug interaction potential of CCX168 with concomitant medications, as either a perpetrator or a victim, following oral administration of CCX168 to healthy participants.
The primary objective of this study will be to evaluate the pharmacokinetic properties of avacopan and its metabolite CCX168-M1 after a single oral dose of 30 mg avacopan in participants with mild or moderate hepatic impairment compared to matched healthy controls.
To compare the effects of the following types of therapy on knee range of motion when given to patients with chronic knee pain: - A standard steroid injection - Peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) therapy in combination with a standard steroid injection - PNS therapy in combination with a placebo injection Steroid injections are given directly into the knee joints and are considered to be the standard therapy for chronic knee pain. In this study, the injection will be made of the steroid drugs triamcinolone and bupivacaine.
This study seeks to determine the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of an intervention consisting of off-label use of a medication with strong efficacy data for alcohol use disorder (AUD) with medical management and a clinical pharmacist-delivered behavioral intervention in reducing alcohol use among individuals with HIV and AUD.
This study is being performed to compare the effects of three types of group-based psychological treatments delivered over video telehealth for chronic musculoskeletal pain in older U.S. military Veterans. The three types of psychological treatments are: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET), and Mindfulness Meditation (MM). In addition, the investigators will evaluate which patients respond best to each treatment and how each treatment works. The investigators are performing the study because chronic pain is a big problem among Veterans. Older Veterans are the focus because they have the highest rates of chronic pain, perhaps as high has 80%. The investigators are looking at psychological treatments because they are less risky than medications or procedures for older Veterans. Telehealth is an important aspect of the proposal, as delivery over telehealth could improve access to treatments. CBT is endorsed nationally by VA, but no standardized MM is available through VA, and only a few VA sites use EAET, which is a newer treatment focusing on how stress and emotions affect pain. The project aims to evaluate a standardized form of MM and the newer treatment, EAET, compared to the standard CBT used widely in VA.
The goal of this randomized clinical trial is to evaluate if we can use placental pathology in a prior pregnancy which had an adverse outcome, such as early delivery, stillbirth, a baby born smaller than expected, or severe forms of high blood pressure during pregnancy, to guide treatment in the subsequent pregnancy and reduce risk of recurrent adverse pregnancy events. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Whether enoxaparin prevents recurrent adverse pregnancy outcomes among patients with a prior adverse pregnancy outcome that occurred in the setting of maternal vascular malperfusion (MVM). - If enoxaparin reduces the occurrence or severity of MVM among patients with a prior adverse pregnancy outcome that occurred in the setting of MVM.
The goal of this clinical trial is to define the normal response to the 13C-Spirulina Gastric Emptying Breath Test (GEBT) in children, so that we can use this test to help diagnose children that are suspected of having a condition called gastroparesis, which means that food doesn't empty from their stomach normally. Participants will blow into test tubes to collect breath samples before and after eating a scrambled egg GEBT meal that contains a small amount of specially grown Spirulina (a blue-green alga used as a dietary supplement) that contains mostly carbon-13 (a non-radioactive kind of carbon atom). Analysis of the amount of 13C in the carbon dioxide in breath before and after eating the GEBT meal can measure how fast food is emptying from the stomach.
Before infants are born, they depend on their mother to provide the nutrients necessary to grow and develop, such as iron, folic acid, iodine and other vitamins and minerals. Pregnant people also rely on good nutrition to support their own health. In addition to essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals, there are other natural components found in fruits and vegetables, called phytochemicals, that may support maternal and fetal health during pregnancy. While more is known about the role of phytochemicals in adult health, surprisingly little is known about phytochemical nutrition during pregnancy. This study focuses on a group of phytochemicals, called carotenoids, during pregnancy. The study will determine if and why levels of carotenoids in the body change across the course of pregnancy. Understanding carotenoid nutrition during pregnancy will improve the understanding ofnutrition needs of expectant mothers and their infants. To study these questions, both health pregnant and non-pregnant female adults will report on their dietary intake and participate in body measurements, health surveys, and carotenoid measurements of eyes, skin, and blood at time points corresponding with the first, second, and third trimesters of pregnancy as well as post-partum.
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of the Ion Endoluminal System with real-world use for pulmonary lesion localization or biopsy.
The goal of this study is to test the efficacy and feasibility of a clinician-guided, app-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) program, SilverCloud, as a school-based mental health intervention for vulnerable youth. An open trial of SilverCloud will be conducted to determine preliminary efficacy in this sample and inform program refinements by collecting outcome self-report assessments and conducting interviews on feasibility and acceptability. After the program and its implementation strategy are refined, we will conduct an randomized controlled trial. Adolescents who screen positive for significant mental health symptoms and who are enrolled in their school-based health center (SBHC) will be randomized to receive SilverCloud or treatment as usual (TAU). Efficacy will be assessed through outcome self-reports. Feasibility and acceptability feedback will again be collected from participants, SBHC staff, and community members.
