There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This partially randomized phase Ib/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of taselisib when given together with enzalutamide and to see how well they work in treating patients with androgen receptor positive triple-negative breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Taselisib is a PI3K inhibitor. The PI3K pathway is involved is cancer growth. Androgen may cause the growth of tumor cells. Enzalutamide may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the androgen receptor from working. Giving taselisib with enzalutamide may be a better treatment for patients with breast cancer.
The researchers will recruit patients with liver disease at Parkland Hospital. Patients will fast overnight, and the next morning will receive an oral mixture of [U-13C3]glycerol (25 mg/kg) plus unlabeled glycerol (25 mg/kg). The total dose of glycerol will be 50 mg/kg in 100 milliliters of water. The taste is slightly sweet. Blood will be drawn at 60 min and 120 min after the ingestion. Blood glucose will be isolated and analyzed by NMR. The presence of [5,6-13C2]- and [4,5-13C2]glucose indicates preserved mitochondrial function. The researchers anticipate that patients with severe liver disease will show a decrease in mitochondrial function and will inform biosynthetic function of liver mitochondria. After the first 6 successful exams (see power analysis, below), healthy volunteers (age-, gender-, and race-matched) will be studied at the AIRC and subject to the same protocol.
In this prospective, multi-center study, 200 patients from four participating Texas burn hospitals will be enrolled from admission to discharge. The clinical research study team will collect approximately 11 serum samples and clinical data related to sepsis and infection predictors from severely burned adult patients, ages 18-80 years old. All serum samples from participating sites will be shipped to the lead site, University of Texas Medical Branch. The University of Texas Medical Branch will then validate previously identified biomarkers while simultaneously identifying novel biomarkers through discovery proteomics.
This multi-center, randomized prospective clinical trial involves esophageal cancer patients who are surgical candidates. Patients will be randomized either to the one stage or the two stage esophagectomy procedure. Surgical, oncology outcomes, quality of life and cost analysis from both types of procedure will be reviewed and compared.
This is an open-label extension study for participants who completed a Phase 3, placebo-controlled study of ataluren in participants with nonsense mutation cystic fibrosis (nmCF) not receiving chronic inhaled aminoglycosides.
Through the investigators' Breast Care Center at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, the investigators treat approximately 75 patients per year with neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The majority of the remainder of patients with stage II and III disease undergo treatment with adjuvant chemotherapy either on a clinical protocol or as standard of care. There is a subset of women with ER positive disease who do not receive chemotherapy because of favorable tumor characteristics. This tissue procurement protocol is designed to systematically collect tissue, urine and blood specimens on patients undergoing neoadjuvant systemic therapy or adjuvant chemotherapy, serially following treatment, and/or at the time of disease recurrence in order to investigate mechanisms underlying development of metastatic disease, to identify predictors of response and resistance to therapy, and to test potential new therapies for breast cancer using a combination of patient-derived xenograft creation and new microfluidic technologies.
The primary objective of this study is to assess objective response rate (ORR) in patients with relapsed or refractory MCL who failed ibrutinib treatment or were unable to tolerate ibrutinib.
1. Achieve sustained virologic response (SVR) in patients infected with HCV genotype 1, cirrhosis, and early clinical decompensation using 12 weeks of Olysio/Sovaldi/Ribavirin (or known as: Simeprevir(SMV)/Sofosbuvir(SOF)/Ribavirin (RBV). 2. Hepatic improvement during and after Simeprevir(SMV)/Sofosbuvir(SOF)/Ribavirin(RBV) treatment using a new test of liver function, HepQuant-SHUNT.
This is an observational registry to further characterize the safety profile of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia in the chronic phase (CP-CML), accelerated phase (AP-CML), blast phase (BP-CML), or Ph+ALL treated with Iclusig (ponatinib) in routine clinical practice in the US. The registry is focused on analysis of vascular occlusive events.
This phase 2 study is designed to evaluate the safety and activity of TH-4000 a hypoxia-activated prodrug, in patients with EGFR-Mutant, T790M-Negative, Advanced NSCLC.
