NCT ID: NCT03682068 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Metastatic Urothelial Cancer

Study of Durvalumab Given With Chemotherapy, Durvalumab in Combination With Tremelimumab Given With Chemotherapy, or Chemotherapy in Patients With Unresectable Urothelial Cancer

NILE
Start date: September 27, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a randomized, open-label, controlled, multi-center, global Phase III study to determine the efficacy and safety of combining durvalumab ± tremelimumab with standard of care (SoC) chemotherapy (cisplatin + gemcitabine or carboplatin + gemcitabine doublet) followed by durvalumab monotherapy versus SoC alone as first-line chemotherapy in patients with histologically or cytologically documented, unresectable, locally advanced or metastatic transitional cell carcinoma of the urothelium (including renal pelvis, ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra).

NCT ID: NCT03682029 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Myelodysplastic Syndromes

Epigenetics, Vitamin C, and Abnormal Blood Cell Formation - Vitamin C in Patients With Low-Risk Myeloid Malignancies

EVITA
Start date: November 21, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary purpose of this multi-centre, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind phase II study is to investigate if oral vitamin C may change the biology of low-risk myeloid malignancies; i.e., clonal cytopenia of undetermined significance (CCUS), low-risk myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML)-0/1 by reversing the epigenetic changes characteristic of these disease entities. The epigenetic regulator TET2 is the gene most often affected in CCUS. Preclinical studies have shown that active demethylation by the TET enzymes is dependent on vitamin C, and the investigators and collaborators have shown that plasma vitamin C levels are exceedingly low in hematological cancer patients but are easily corrected by oral vitamin C. This study is part of an array of EVITA studies aimed at clarifying whether the standard of care of patients with myeloid malignancies should be changed and oral vitamin C supplement added to the treatment recommendations.

NCT ID: NCT03681678 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Urinary Incontinence

Laser Therapy for Treatment of Urogenital Symptoms in Women

Start date: October 8, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

This is a prospective observational study of women undergoing vaginal treatment with the fractional carbon dioxide (fCO2) laser for various urogenital symptoms.

NCT ID: NCT03681535 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma

Dose-Reduced Consolidation Radiation Therapy in Patients With Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma

DLBCL
Start date: February 13, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This phase II study will evaluate whether a reduction in radiation dose and field size will maintain a high rate of local control while minimizing the risk of acute and late toxicity . Hypothesis: The radiation dose and treatment volume can be safely reduced from 30 Gy to 20 Gy while maintaining high rates of local control in patients who had a negative PET-CT scan following rituximab - containing chemotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT03681483 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

RO5126766 for Patients With Advanced KRAS-Mutant Lung Cancer

Start date: October 31, 2018
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to test the safety of RO5126766 at different doses to find out what effects, if any, it has on people with advanced lung cancer who have previously received treatment with a PD-1 or PD-L1 inhibitor.

NCT ID: NCT03681262 Active, not recruiting - Chronic Pain Clinical Trials

Comparing Long-term Effectiveness of High Frequency and Burst Spinal Cord Stimulation

Start date: August 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Over 100 million Americans suffer from chronic pain resulting in annual cost of roughly $635 billion. Limited treatments are available for this widespread disease. The data supporting these treatments lack generalizability to patients with more serious medical and psychological comorbidities who are often excluded from explanatory efficacy trials. This study aims to integrate randomized comparative effectiveness research with patient care. The investigators will randomize the patients and collect data using an open-source learning healthcare system already in use in the department to monitor patients' progress: Collaborative Health Outcomes Information Registry (CHOIR). CHOIR uses the National Institute of Health Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System item banks for comparative metrics through computer adaptive testing. The investigators will leverage the advantage of this novel system to compare effectiveness of high frequency and burst spinal cord stimulation in improving pain and function in patients with chronic back and/or leg pain. Spinal cord stimulation is an effective treatment for chronic pain resulting in >50% pain relief in about half of the patients. Novel waveforms for spinal cord stimulation - high frequency and burst - increased the efficacy of this treatment even further. However, there is lack of data guiding decision making of the clinicians in choosing the best waveform in treating the patients with chronic pain. The proposed study will provide the clinicians with this evidence. Currently, data about safety and efficacy of these two novel waveforms is available for up to 24 months. The proposed research will provide data about effectiveness of these two modalities for at least 36 months. Moreover, this study will evaluate feasibility of integrating randomized comparative effectiveness research with patient care in Stanford Pain Management subspecialty clinic. CHOIR can then be applied for numerous future trials to advance knowledge in perioperative and pain medicine.

NCT ID: NCT03681210 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Chronic Heart Failure

NCT ID: NCT03681028 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Recurrent Glioblastoma

Feasibility of Individualized Therapy for Recurrent Glioblastoma

Start date: December 19, 2018
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The current study will test the ability and likelihood of successfully implementing individualized combination treatment recommendations for adult patients with surgically-resectable recurrent glioblastoma in a timely fashion. Collected tumor tissue and blood will be examined using a new diagnostic testing called University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) 500 Cancer Gene Panel which is done at the UCSF Clinical Cancer Genomics Laboratory. The UCSF 500 Cancer Gene Panel will help identify genetic changes in the DNA of a patient's cancer, which helps oncologists improve treatment by identifying targeted therapies.
