NCT ID: NCT06063187 Completed - Physical Inactivity Clinical Trials

Technology-based Fall Risk Assessments for Older Adults in Low-income Settings

Start date: September 30, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this observational study is to examine the associations among fall risk appraisal, body composition, and physical activity in older adults in low-income settings. The main questions it aims to answer are: - What is the feasibility of recruitment (e.g., how many older adults need to be screened to recruit the sample?), especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and acceptability of technologies and procedures for use among older adults in low-income settings? - What are the the dynamic relationships between fall risk appraisal, body composition, physical activity, and behavioral changes related to fear of falling? Participants will: - complete questionnaires about their characteristics, socio-demographic, medical history, cognition, depressive symptoms, anxiety, and fear of falling. - participate in static and dynamic balance tests, body composition measurement and handgrip strength test. - wear an accelerometer for physical activity assessment for 7 consecutive days.

NCT ID: NCT06062615 Completed - Clinical trials for Total Knee Replacement

Robotic Assisted TKA

Start date: January 30, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

As an intraoperative tool, a modern robotic total knee arthroplasty (TKA) system should be able to identify a patient's native femoral and tibial anatomy, as well as, assess ligament tension and gap balance. The surgeon in real time is then able to develop and execute a patient specific plan in terms of component size, alignment and rotation. In our institution we have begun to use, the OMNIBotics Knee system (Corin), which utilizes an active motorized knee spacer, BalanceBot, to objectively measure ligament tension and gap balance after the tibia has been cut and its alignment confirmed. This information is then processed through the OMNIbotics computer algorithm to appropriately size, align, and rotate the femur component to balance the flexion and extension gaps. The purpose of this study is to perform a randomized pilot study looking for an effect on early functional outcomes comparing robotic assisted TKA (RATKA) versus conventional TKA technique.

NCT ID: NCT06062602 Completed - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

PBI-MST-01(NCT04541108) Substudy TAK-02: Intratumoral Microdosing of TAK-676 in HNSCC

Start date: July 26, 2021
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This is a multi-center, open-label Phase 0 substudy designed to study the localized pharmacodynamics (PD) of TAK-676 alone or in combination with Carboplatin, 5-FU, or Paclitaxel within the tumor microenvironment (TME) when administered intratumorally in microdose quantities via the CIVO device in patients diagnosed with Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma presenting with a surface accessible solid tumor for which there is a scheduled surgical intervention. This substudy is a cohort of the PBI-MST-01 Master Protocol.

NCT ID: NCT06062186 Completed - Cognitive Change Clinical Trials

Acute Effects of Naturally Occurring Tea and Coffee-based Ingredients on Cognitive Performance

Start date: April 5, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is a double-blind, randomized, three-arm, single-dose, placebo-controlled crossover trial of forty (40) apparently healthy male and female participants. The objective of this study is to assess the effects of AmaTea Max Organic Guayusa Extract and Lion's Mane on cognitive responses including mental clarity, mood, focus, concentration, productivity, anxiety/stress, happiness, and accuracy.

NCT ID: NCT06061289 Completed - Clinical trials for Detoxification Response

Guided Metabolic Detox Program

Start date: March 6, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Adequate antioxidant supply is essential for maintaining metabolic homeostasis and reducing oxidative stress during detoxification. The emerging evidence suggests that certain classes of phytonutrients can help support the detoxification process by stimulating the liver to produce detoxification enzymes or acting as antioxidants that neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals. This study was designed to examine the effects of a guided 28-day metabolic detoxification program in healthy adults. The participants were randomly assigned to consume a whole food, multi-ingredient supplement (education and intervention) or control (education and healthy meal) daily for the duration of the trial.

NCT ID: NCT06060600 Completed - Clinical trials for Trypanosoma Brucei Rhodesiense; Infection

A Retrospective Analysis of Suramin Treatment for Stage 1 TBR

Start date: January 2, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The study will include TBR HAT patients treated with suramin between 2000 and 2020 at three sites in Uganda and Malawi A natural history cohort composed of source data from approximately 200 patients from a published epidemiological study will be used as a comparator. This study's objectives are to evaluate the efficacy and safety of suramin in the Stage 1 treatment of TBR HAT.

NCT ID: NCT06060054 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

Continuous Measurement of Glymphatic Activity in the Human Brain During Sleep-Wake States

Start date: November 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a cross-over randomized study to validate the Sponsor investigational medical device against measurements of glymphatic function from MRI-based neuroimaging, EEG, blood biomarkers and cognitive tests in healthy older volunteers.

NCT ID: NCT06059417 Completed - Clinical trials for Dermatologic Conditions

Foam Tape Allergy a Sticky Situation

Start date: August 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Foam tape is commonly used in the emergency department as a dressing over chest tubes owing to its occlusive and compressible properties. There is a paucity of data regarding the incidence of significant cutaneous reactions to this material. We conducted a prospective trial to evaluate the incidence of dermatitis following application of foam tape to the upper arm of a cohort of healthy volunteers.

NCT ID: NCT06058962 Completed - Clinical trials for Autism Spectrum Disorder
