NCT ID: NCT06130059 Recruiting - Heart Failure Clinical Trials

Efficacy of LoDoCo in Improving Exercise Capacity Among Patients With HFpEF and Inflammation

Start date: April 24, 2024
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this research study is to determine the effectiveness of low dose colchicine (LoDoCo) on measures of exercise capacity, physical function, frailty, and quality of life, among patients with heart failure with chronic stable preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and systemic inflammation. The use of LoDoCo in this study is considered investigational as it has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of exercise capacity in patients with HFpEF. Participants will undergo a 1-day screening that includes a blood draw and physical examination. If deemed eligible for the study, participants will undergo a baseline visit within 2 weeks of screening visit that includes physical examination, exercise testing, echocardiography and completion of quality-of-life surveys. Participants will also be randomized at this visit (randomly assigned to a group) to receive either LoDoCo or placebo (inactive substance) for 3 months. Participants will be called back at 3 months for repeat physical examination, blood draws, echocardiography, exercise testing and completion of quality-of-life surveys. Each visit will take about 3 hours. Total study duration is about 3 months.

NCT ID: NCT06130020 Recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

Comparing Targets of Expressive Writing

Start date: November 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Expressive writing involves writing about one's deepest thoughts and feelings surrounding an emotional event. The current literature on the efficacy of expressive writing is mixed and warrants further investigation into how, when, and for whom expressive writing is an effective intervention. The goal of this study is to compare the efficacy of expressive writing interventions in young adults when people imagine that they're writing to themselves vs. a loved one. Participants will carry out an expressive writing exercise for 14 consecutive days. Participants are randomized into 3 groups: Self, Other, and Control. The Self group is instructed to write as if they were talking to themselves. The Other group is instructed to direct their writing to someone they feel close to. The Control group is asked to write down a factual description of their routine that day, and direct this writing to themselves. We will recruit participants until we have usable data from 53 participants per group (i.e., 159 in total).

NCT ID: NCT06129994 Recruiting - Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Trials

Ecological Momentary Assessment Study of Adolescents and Young Adults With Type 1 Diabetes (EMA-T1D)

Start date: November 7, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This single site investigator-initiated prospective observational study will enroll up to 150 participants 13-26 years of age with Type 1 diabetes (T1D) and utilize ecological momentary assessment methods (EMA) to examine associations between different diabetes psychological domains (distress, anxiety, and depression) in real-time on self-efficacy, self-management behaviors, and glycemic outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT06129903 Recruiting - Sarcoma Clinical Trials

Study Assessing the Effects of Early Psychiatric Referral on Mental Health and Quality of Life in People With Sarcoma

Start date: November 7, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of early access to mental healthcare during sarcoma treatment as well as to assess the association between early access to psychiatric care and depression, anxiety, postoperative outcomes, and patient satisfaction in patients undergoing surgery for musculoskeletal sarcoma.

NCT ID: NCT06129877 Enrolling by invitation - Gastrostomy Clinical Trials

CHAMP App Feeding Difficulties Repository

Start date: November 9, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

This repository will consist of home monitoring data, videos, and images of patients with feeding difficulties for asynchronous remote patient monitoring of manually entered data sent by parents to the healthcare team using the CHAMP App for children with feeding difficulties. This information will be collected under a research protocol and this repository is for future research applications.

NCT ID: NCT06129864 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Locally Advanced Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

A Global Study of Volrustomig (MEDI5752) for Participants With Unresected Locally Advanced Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma Following Definitive Concurrent Chemoradiotherapy

eVOLVE-HNSCC
Start date: December 14, 2023
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The main purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of volrustomig compared to observation in participants with unresected locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (LA-HNSCC) who have not progressed after receiving definitive concurrent chemoradiotherapy (cCRT).

NCT ID: NCT06129851 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Stage IV Prostate Cancer AJCC v8

Relugolix in Combination With Radiation Therapy for Treating Patients With High Risk Prostate Cancer

Start date: November 20, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial evaluates the best duration for relugolix to be given in combination with radiation therapy when treating patients with high risk prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is a hormonal influenced cancer. Part of the usual treatment for patients with prostate cancer is androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). ADT is used to lower the amount of testosterone in the body, because testosterone appears to help prostate cancer grow. Relugolix works to reduce testosterone levels, which may inhibit proliferation of prostate cancer cells. It is approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat prostate cancer. Adding relugolix to standard radiation therapy might work better and have fewer side effects than prior forms of hormonal therapy, but the optimal duration of relugolix in combination with radiation is not known.

NCT ID: NCT06129838 Recruiting - Alzheimer Disease Clinical Trials

Investigation of Inflammation in Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) Using [11C]-CS1P1

Start date: May 5, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study involves a brain positron emission tomography (PET) scan with a new, investigational radioactive tracer called [11C]-CS1P1 to identify inflammation in the brain by testing with healthy older adults and with cognitively impaired older adults.

NCT ID: NCT06129760 Recruiting - Glioblastoma Clinical Trials

Glioblastoma Remote Monitoring and Care - Research Protocol

Start date: April 30, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this research is to learn more about how what the Apple watch measures, in terms of walking data, heart rate, breathing rate, and sleep habits, relates to how participants feel. During the course of the treatment, the symptoms participants experience change, and whether the Apple watch can detect these changes. Ultimately, this knowledge is being used to design proactive tools and signatures that can predict complications or symptom changes before they happen.

NCT ID: NCT06129747 Recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Repeat Breast Conserving Surgery Followed by Daily Partial Breast Irradiation in Ipsilateral Breast

Start date: November 30, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The standard treatment for participants whose cancer has returned after breast conserving surgery is radiation given twice daily (separated by at least 6 hours) for a total of 30 treatments. The purpose of this study is to find out if giving radiation once a day for 15 treatments after repeat breast conserving surgery works as well as giving it the standard way.
