This study will evaluate the pharmacodynamic (PD), safety, antitumor activity, and PK of eFT508 in female subjects who have pathologically documented, radiographically measurable, metastatic or locally advanced and unresectable TNBC and have received prior cancer therapy regimen for metastatic disease, and in male and female subjects who have histologically or cytologically confirmed advanced HCC not amenable to surgical resection and have failed systemic therapy.
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the clinical efficacy of BIIB054 via dose response using the change from baseline in Movement Disorder Society-Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (MDS-UPDRS) Total Score. The secondary objectives of the study are to evaluate the dose-related safety of BIIB054, to evaluate the clinical efficacy of BIIB054 via MDS-UPDRS total score, to assess the pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of BIIB054, to evaluate the clinical efficacy of BIIB054 based on MDS-UPDRS subparts, to evaluate the pharmacodynamic effects of BIIB054 on the integrity of nigrostriatal dopaminergic nerve terminals and to evaluate the immunogenicity of BIIB054.
Epilepsy affects a significant number of children in the United States. The majority of patients achieve control of their seizures by conventional treatment strategies including medications. However, one third of patients do not achieve satisfactory seizure control with medications alone. Ketogenic diet and lifestyle modifications may also be tried. In some of these children, the seizure focus can be localized to one area of the brain and the seizures are resistant to conservative treatment strategies. These children may have subtle structural/developmental abnormalities in their brain, the most frequent of which is focal cortical dysplasia. These are localized areas of abnormal lamination of the cerebral cortex that can be extremely subtle and difficult to detect, even with state of the art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). More importantly, these lesions may be amenable to surgical resection resulting in marked decrease in frequency or even resolution of seizures. MRI is a noninvasive imaging modality without ionizing radiation that has played a central role in the assessment of anatomy, physiology/pathophysiology of children with epilepsy. It is particularly useful in children with refractory focal epilepsy. Prior studies have shown that high resolution, high-field (3T) MR imaging of the brain helps to identify subtle focal epileptogenic abnormalities, including focal cortical dysplasia, in some patients. However, there is scarce data directly comparing the performance of ultra high-field (7T) MRI, currently an investigative technique offering optimized contrast and signal-to-noise rations and superior spatial resolution, with clinically available 3T MR imaging. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether ultra high-field (7T) MR imaging improves detection and characterization of subtle structural epileptogenic abnormalities in children with focal epilepsy. The importance of this research is that identification of a focal epileptogenic lesion in children with refractory epilepsy has fundamental management implications, as surgical removal of such lesion may dramatically improve outcomes and the chance of seizure freedom.
The investigators have developed co-registered transvaginal photoacoustic and ultrasound (US) imaging techniques that allow them to visualize ovarian tumor structure and functional changes simultaneously, which may potentially reveal early tumor angiogenesis development or residual tumors after systemic treatment that is not available by US alone. The ability to detect early angiogenesis changes, as well as tumor morphology changes using a non-invasive imaging modality will greatly enhance the care for patients. The investigators plan to explore these techniques in monitoring cervical cancer treatment response and conduct pilot feasibility studies.
The purpose of this study is to assess the incidence of hernia recurrence with the use of biologic and prosthetic mesh in ventral hernia repair.
This is a Phase 1b/2, open label, multicenter, safety and clinical activity study of avelumab in combination with chemotherapy as first-line treatment of adult patients with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors. Initially, avelumab will be evaluated in combination with pemetrexed and carboplatin in patients with advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) (Cohort A1) and in combination with gemcitabine and cisplatin in patients with cisplatin-eligible urothelial (bladder) cancer (UC) (Cohort A2). As more information is learned about other anti-cancer immunotherapy agents, in future portions of the study, avelumab may be combined with chemotherapy and other anti-cancer immunotherapy agents in patients with these same or different tumor types.
The study team is seeking a novel treatment for snoring involving local application of a nerve stimulant medication, neostigmine. In this study, neostigmine will be injected into 5 sites of the soft palate during a standard procedure, drug-induced sleep endoscopy, to evaluate the effect on snoring.

Do ultrasound-guided genicular nerve blocks with 0.5% bupivacaine provide improved knee analgesia for patients recovering from total knee replacement surgery compared to saline injection? Hypotheses: The investigators hypothesize that the combination of ultrasound-guided adductor canal block (ACB) and genicular nerve block will achieve lower opioid consumption and therefore lead to decreased systemic side effects and improved overall satisfaction compared to ultrasound-guided saline injection for patients undergoing minimally invasive elective total knee arthroplasty (TKA).
